I'm a Mexican that has lived in Korea for a long time and has become extremely Koreanized, but listening to this song and seeing Natalia all dressed up makes me feel proud of my Mexican roots
My family and I played this song at my grandma's funeral. It was perfect. She loved upbeat music and wanted to watch Coco so badly (her mother was Mexican) but never got to as she died 5 days before its DVD release. When the song started playing at the funeral, I started to cry. But when I heard "Don't let it make you cry" I straightened up and smiled for my grandma.
My duuuude... I cry-laughed at my Gran's funeral... She had Alzheimer's, and that "Remember Me," smacked me in my guts, and my soul, at the same time. So, you know what I did? I did the one thing Gran would have wanted me to do, I sang that shit as loud as I could. 👍😭👍
I am a grown ass black man! I’m tough, I am macho, I am a mans man....but this movie and song played with my heart strings as well as my emotions, i could not hold back the tears at the end...it basically left me “Un Poco Loco”....thank you again Disney, and for all of Mexico. Love to all
I saw this movie with my parents just an hour ago, and I saw my dad cried soundlessly when Miguel sang this song to his grandma Coco. I knew my dad thought of his mom who passed away all of a sudden few years ago. He misses his parents so much with the song. It was great movie to make us think of our family members.
김소리 I cried at the same part, cause if Miguel didn't do anything, Coco's dad will be forgotten, and for me that is the saddest thing I could ever imagine, being forgotten.
My dad felt the same way and it reminded him of his grandma. I patted his shoulder and simply smiled. Thought I would take the moment with a plain approach. Don't get me wrong I don't cry often but I feel the emotion within the soul than with my eyes.
This song: beautiful Their voices: beautiful Their faces: beautiful Don’t mind me, I’m just admiring them, listening to this on repeat and ugly crying.
My dad died died way before this movie came out but the last verse just spoke to me like he was trying to send that message to me. I miss him so much, but I know he wouldn’t want me to be sad all the time

I love this version. Miguel's voice gives it so much soul and emotion. And Natalia's voice is so angelic and comforting. Also I didn't know until recently that Miguel is Afro-Mexican so he certainly was an excellent choice to sing this songs. Reminds me of my abuela who I love and miss everyday. If you haven't seen Coco, please do
Cindy Ventura Nah, it is one of the best imo. It’s certainly better than Let it Go or any song from Frozen (This is coming from someone who’s a huge Bobby Lopez fan. He co-wrote this song, Avenue Q, and Book of Mormon, all pieces of work that I love dearly).
This song was always good. But in the last few months it's lyrics just make me smile and cry at the same time after losing my grandfather. I miss every single day but those memories of him will always be there to make me smile and feel like he's right here beside me.
This movie was so great it made me shed some tears. I hope Disney Pixar would make more animated movies that highlight different cultures around the world just like what they did with Coco.
When I first went to watch Coco, it was a couple of weeks after my grandmother had passed away. I have never cried so much over a movie, it reminded me so much of her. I was literally sobbing!

Haven't heard Demi's version in a long time, but I really hate Cara's version of How far I'll go. I agree with you about not covering the song with pop stars & having good representation of the Mexican culture.
Sarah Walter Also they researched the culture for like 6 years before making the movie, and they even completely changed the entire concept of the movie that they originally had planned based on the research. So yes, they do care about the representation, and I love that about this movie and the writers/producers.
curly massacre Because you’re Racist and assume Mexicans look like El Chapo and Fernando Alexander. Majority of Mexicans are dark skinned, and the original Mexicans before mayans and aztecas we’re aboriginals that look like Miguel
This song and the lyrics hit more as they had more meaning coming from Hector. Ernesto thought it was another song to make him famous, only it was a song Hector made for his daughter Coco. This was Hector's last night on the Day of the Dead. Curse or no Curse, Miguel was brought to the Land of the Dead for reason...Hector is to be remembered for Coco so he can see her. Especially discovering what Ernesto did a long time ago. Thanks to anyone who reads this.
My dad felt the same way. I took a simpler approach by smiling warmly by the moment. Because the movie reminded my dad of his Mexican roots and how my grandpa who shares my same name migrated from here to Mexico and met my grandma who is also named Socorro, a Texas native.
And, I just feel all emotional again: Miguel is 32. Natalia is 33. Unkrich confirmed that Imelda is a year older than Hector. These live singers are LITERALLY portraying fictional characters in this song. Miguel is Hector and Natalia is Imelda. LORD! MY HEART!

@@joanadams7014 I lost my dad almost two years ago around the time when this movie came out and I still cry when I hear this song. But remember, memories really do keep them alive - and they keep you going. My best to you and yours.
I lost my aunt about a year ago also. It’s honestly really tough and considering it was my first loss that I would have to deal with ever in my life. I constantly think about her even until this day. Everytime i watch coco and listen to this song it always reminds me of her. I saw her the day before she passed away and I honestly wish i could have spent more time with her and given her a bigger hug. It’s not easy but we have to enjoy the moments that we spent with her. I hope your doing okay and feel a little better. She loved you and no matter what she will always be in your heart.
My mom passed away way before this movie and this song reminds me of her. It reminds me of my loved ones that have passed on and they are gone but are alive in my heart. I remember them in my memories and that will never change. Especially now that I’m pregnant. I tell my baby about his grandma and his great uncle. Loved ones will always be with us in our hearts
Im not the one who usually cries to movies but this movie here got me in tears. It really hits you when youve lost someone so close. Will never forget you dad. I love you always and forever.
Rose Vanterpool it reminds me a little of my culture, Expect the music is different. Bolivian culture is beautiful just like Mexican culture. This makes me feel like going to Bolivia right now and dancing on mountains
Hey Rose sadly Mexicans or some Mexicans don’t like black folks. It saddens me because even with the president we have you think it would strengthen the black and brown bond but they still call us niggas!!
I watched this movie with my parents today. It was so wholesome to see my dad tearfully smiling at the end of the movie. He has lost many of his loved ones in recent times.I think this movie made him realise that they are not all gone. They’re alive in our ♥️ hearts and memories
Yes, but it was executed very well, so it is still a pretty awesome concept. The Chinese have similar traditions but no one came up with a concept to showcase it like this film did for Mexican culture.

Have you actually listened to it's Spanish version though? Because I have listened to the ending credits version in like 5 languages already and the one in Spanish bests all imo
my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease last year. this song always seems to hit home whenever it comes up. he’s getting to that point where he doesnt really remember who me or my siblings are but he knows we’re family & that’s all that matters to us. it gets harder & harder each day, but forever will he be my hero. 💜
What an amazing movie! Although Mexico and Brasil celebrate the “dia dos mortos” in the same day, we do it differently. It was great to learn more about the Mexican culture in such a beautiful way. I must say I cried so hard in the end. Such a masterpiece! Such a beautiful message!
Ana Paula Gabay I didn’t not Brasil also does Día de Los Muertos too!! That’s so good to know! Most Latin American countries have Mexican influence to do the same Thank you! Much love to country and the people!
Vanya Navarrete Brazil don't celebrate Dia De Los Muertos, we don't have a celebration like the celebration in the movie. Is not part of our culture ( I'm Brazilian )
Vanya Navarrete In Portugal we a day called "Dia De Finados" which is basically like "Dia De Los Muertos" but instead of making big parties and sing and dance,we go to the graveyards, put flowers for our dead family members and cry over their deaths. It's really depressing,I don't like "Dia De Finados" for that reason.

And that when the day comes for us to go home we'll be together again to share our stories and hold each other again, until then you have to live and make a story to tell them
In Mexico death has been honored for more than 3000 years, in pre-Hispanic times, this celebration was held during the ninth and tenth months of the Mexica solar calendar, and lasted the entire months. The celebration of the first month was dedicated to children and the second to adults. With the arrival of the Catholic religion after the conquest, the Spaniards wanted to impose on the Indians the European celebration of "All Saints' Day" to eliminate the prehispanic celebration of death that they considered pagan, the result was that these customs were combined resulting in the peculiar and wonderful Mexican tradition that we know today as the Day of the Dead. The celebration went from lasting two months to last these two days, but still retains the belief of celebrating the young souls on the first day and the old souls on the second. In 2003, UNESCO proclaimed the Day of the Dead festivities as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
I love this song! The movie really did a great job of bringing the holiday of Dia de Los Muertos in a positive light! Our loved ones who have departed are never truly forgotten as long as we hang on to the memories they left behind!

Because you’re Racist and assume Mexicans look like El Chapo and Fernando Alexander. Majority of Mexicans are dark skinned, and the original Mexicans before mayans and aztecas we’re aboriginals that look like Miguel
This song won an Oscar.
Well deserved!
Yes, lmao.
I don't know if a spanglish song even was nominated before.
The good News is this movie win the Oscar I felt happy because I am half mexican
It's also a work of art ✨
This song and the lyrics hit more as they had more meaning coming from Hector. Ernesto thought it was another song to make him famous, only it was a song Hector made for his daughter Coco. This was Hector's last night on the Day of the Dead. Curse or no Curse, Miguel was brought to the Land of the Dead for reason...Hector is to be remembered for Coco so he can see her. Especially discovering what Ernesto did a long time ago.
Thanks to anyone who reads this.
Coco is easily one of Pixar's greatest films.
DavidG agree
I watched it this afternoon. I literally cried on that song when miguel and grandma coco sang it.. Such a beautiful and lovely song😍😍😍
daim daim that version is also out. Ready to cry all over again?
My dad felt the same way. I took a simpler approach by smiling warmly by the moment. Because the movie reminded my dad of his Mexican roots and how my grandpa who shares my same name migrated from here to Mexico and met my grandma who is also named Socorro, a Texas native.
daim daim same💔😭
daim daim i cried too
And, I just feel all emotional again: Miguel is 32. Natalia is 33. Unkrich confirmed that Imelda is a year older than Hector. These live singers are LITERALLY portraying fictional characters in this song. Miguel is Hector and Natalia is Imelda. LORD! MY HEART!
SHOOOKETH
I'm crying all over again help :( oh my gosh...
I'm not familiar with these two but I never thought it that way before
Bueno, se bronceó bastante Héctor
Disney and PIXAR Coco was praised for its animation, voice acting, emotional story and respect for Mexican culture.
That woman's voice is soothing, I'm in love with that voice XD
Her name is Natalia Lafourcade she's a Mexican singer
She really is amazing!
Remember me
Though I have to say goodbye
Remember me
Don't let it make you cry
For even if I'm far away I hold you in my heart
I sing a secret song to you each night we are apart
Remember me
Though I have to travel far
Remember me
Each time you hear a sad guitar
Know that I'm with you the only way that I can be
Until you're in my arms again
Remember me
Y mi cantar te irá a abrazaru
Aun en la distancia nunca vayas a olvidar
Que yo contigo siempre voy
Recuérdame
If you close your eyes and let the music play
Keep our love alive, I'll never fade away
If you close your eyes and let the music play
Keep our love alive, I'll never fade away
If you close your eyes and let the music play
Keep our love alive, I'll never fade away

For I will soon be gone
Remember me
And let the love we have live on
And know that I'm with you the only way that I can be
So until you're in my arms again

We should all remember our ancestors for what they did for us
Yes! ❤
For reals!!
Adam and Eve... yeah... they screwed us. Hard to forget.
Respect the living & the dead. The past makes us who we are. It depends on whether you use the knowledge that you have lived & learned for a greater purpose of humanity...We must not lower ourselves to the level of those who have caused us harm & heartache and pain and suffering or we shall become one of them & the one's who have done

I just lost my Aunt and I’m a mess right now and I keep replaying this song. Shoutout to everyone who is mourning. It’s not easy
All the best to you and your family
Daniel Lolive thank you
@@joanadams7014 I lost my dad almost two years ago around the time when this movie came out and I still cry when I hear this song. But remember, memories really do keep them alive - and they keep you going. My best to you and yours.
Sergio Vásquez thank you. I can’t imagine how hard that must be for you. Wish you and your family happy holidays
I hope this movie gets a Oscar cause the movie is PHENOMENAL!
I'm totally rooting for it. Although I wanted to see Ferdinand but it can wait a while.

Mexican Culture Is So Beautiful! I Have Cousins Who Are Mexican And Black Just Like Miguel. I Hope They Love And Respect Both Cultures

Is not a concept, is culture
Yes, but it was executed very well, so it is still a pretty awesome concept. The Chinese have similar traditions but no one came up with a concept to showcase it like this film did for Mexican culture.

One thing that makes a disney movie unforgettable, aside from the story, is their theme songs. And this song is one of them.

We saw the movie on Thanksgiving right before loosing a grandmother later that evening. This song has more meaning now more then ever . My girlfriend and I have never been closer . What an amazing movie! Although Mexico and Brasil celebrate the “dia dos mortos” in the same day, we do it differently. It was great to learn more about the Mexican culture in such a beautiful way. I must say I cried so hard in the end. Such a masterpiece! Such a beautiful message!

I didn’t not Brasil also does Día de Los Muertos too!! That’s so good to know!
Most Latin American countries have Mexican influence to do the same
Thank you! Much love to country and the people!
Brazil don't celebrate Dia de Los Muertos. I'm Brazilian, we don't have any celebration like that. 😊

This is a song I can relate to more now. I recently lost my grandma, who's someone very dear to me.. we had watched this movie together when It came out..
It's true that they'll always be with you if you remember them.
In 2003, UNESCO proclaimed the Day of the Dead festivities as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
how interesting! Glad this film made us learn about this beautiful culture a little more!
