Hi Julie. I’ve been in the cleaning mode too. Although we have hardwood floors, I have lots of big rugs underneath certain pieces of furniture. Hubby and I have been steam cleaning said rugs on the deck outdoors and even though they are vacuumed regularly, it is amazing what comes out of the rugs when steam cleaned. 😳😳. Just go room by room and don’t feel like you have a deadline to do it in. Don’t get down in your back. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Thanks for sharing all your organizing tips. I especially like the planner I use a calendar book that is small to fit in my bag but this type of planner seems like a great idea more space to write and organized my days👍
Where we live, we don't wear outdoor shoes inside. It is rude to walk into someone's house with your dirty shoes still on. So, there is always a pile of shoes inside to the doorway or entryway or mud room of the house. I grew up in Florida and we always just kept our shoes on, but not up here in NB, Canada. I guess it is because in the wintertime you always take your shoes off. It sure makes a difference on the cleanliness of the floors.
I have a suggestion for you when cleaning low places in your home. I also have back issues that make squatting or sitting on the floor hard for me. I bought a garden seat that has a round bottom. It moves with me as I lean in different directions. Much more comfortable. It is actually for working in the garden pulling weeds, etc. Shouldn't be hard to find. Probably at Goodwill. I am about to start deep cleaning also. Love thrifting with you.
Our house is just about to the bottom of a little hill. We just got it about 6 yrs ago and never have I ever seen so much dust-all the time. Nor have I ever dusted so much. Still thankful. ❤ it! Blessings Julie
Great job. I can remember those days with carpet. No more carpet. When we bought this house almost 6 years ago we had all carpet took out. Probably the best thing we did because we rescued a great Pyrenees and he sheds so much. Now I keep looking for ways to help me get hair off the floor. Hey sweet lady great job , i deep cleaned every room in the spring early summer washing curtains I hang them bk up wet they smell so good well after ironing I love my shark I do windowsills & all lol I’ve got wood floors but I vacuum @ least 2 times a wk then I use my swifter wet mop ( the newer 1 ) then I take my dry swifter bk over its a lot of work but it’s so clean we don’t ware shoes in our house & when I go to someone else’s house I always take them off I’ve got a 5 by 7 area rug in my living room & area rugs throughout, your home is beautiful & always looks so clean & cozy 😊 have a Blessed wk end 😊
Bought a Roomba! It goes under the beds and couches where I can't get anymore! We vacuum every day so I never really do a deep cleaning! It is always clean! Don't have clutter so I don't have to worry about that! Have an eight pound Shark Navigator to vacuum
Your carpets are in great shape ,ware-wise, for a high traffic area… you sure have inspired me to clean next week . My landlord came by and shampooed my carpets… Nice machine that shark. Hi Julie, I unscrew my AC vent and take it outside, spray with 409 or your favorite cleaner and spray with hose. It comes so clean and fast. Let stay out in sunshine and dry. So much easier to clean. Just a suggestion. I,m getting ready to clean carpets, still so hot and humid here in Georgia .

I did this a couple weeks ago. Shampooed every carpeted area. Took down curtains and washed them. Did a deep deep clean. My back was killing me but boy, did my house look amazing!!

It’s such a wonderful feeling when all the cleaning is done Julie there is a hack for Ceiling Fans using an old Pillowcase place it along the Fan blade and slide it towards you all the dust / bits fall into it then throw it into the wash . I love cleaning so this is like Therapy to me 😂

Hi Julie, I would like to share something with you on cleaning your air conditioner return vent. I use a soft brush paint brush to clean my vent on my return. I have a door that has the slats on it and it makes it so easy, keeping it clean just a helpful tip 😊. I just cleaned my carpet last week and I have an older shark carpet cleaner that I love. But boy dose it ever remind you that age is there 😂. I was going to also share that if you’ve never used Easy glide furniture move sliders they are a true friend and lifesaver. I have a shark vacuum cleaner, and I love mine. I have carpet in my 3 bedrooms, and the rest of my home has tile. I have a open floor plan. My home we sold in California had real hard wood floors it was beautiful. My house is beautiful here in Tx it's just a little bit smaller, but it's just my husband and I.
Wanted to let you know we purchased the ego weed whip that you had on your channel a few weeks back and my husband loves it. We have wood floors but my vacuum canister fills like yours. Yuck. Now I'm going to start cleaning too. 🥴
I don’t really like carpet although my bedrooms upstairs has it. I would prefer wood and tile. If I could afford it, I would replace carpet. I did take the carpet off my steps to the upstairs. Put a pillow case over the fan for cleaning and your fallout will go in pillowcase so thru it in to wash.
I think short od having rugs professionally cleaned you will always pull that nasty greay water out of carpets. I ironically am doing my carpets today and the rest of the week so I take a break and watch you clean your carpets, lol... Much more entertaining when you aren;t the one doing the moving, lifting, emptying, and refilling carpet shampooer. haha! By the way I OVE LOVE LOVE YOUR COFFEE TABLE DIY!!!! We have a 17lb DOG who doesn't shed but he sure leaves "zoomie tracks" on the carpet...PLUS WE ALWAYS ( HUSBAND AND i ANYWAY) always wear slippers in the house and I am amazed at how dirty carpet gets with just us... i REALLY WANT TO GET NEW CARPET ONE DAY... Do they make dirt colored carpet? lol/ I do want something either a gray, or darker brown NOT BEIGE!!!!!
BTW we still haven’t found the fire stick remote lol.

Don't forget to use a broom to sweep the dust next to the wall and floorboard. You'd be surprised how much dirt is there.

Cut the bristles half off of a paint brush for your air return vents and baseboards. Tape one to an old broom handle and use on baseboards

My daughter has a Great Pyrenees. The dog hair is unreal. She has hardwood floors and no carpet.
