  • In this mechabellum gameplay video we are defending against a Rhino Wasp push. I have seen this kind of composition a lot lately. But usually they pair the wasps with Steel Balls.

    Hi! I'm returning to mechabellum after the new patches so I've been watching some videos to catch up... I noticed you almost never level up your units, specially giants. Is it just better to have more stuff?
    Also, why you hate the arclight so much? :( the round where you expected double underground crawlers, was it a bad idea to place 1 arc on each tower to defend?
    Just trying to understand your thought process a bit so I can get better at the game :D (I'm currently at ~1200 mmr)
    Thanks!

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  4 месяца назад +2

      Arclight is very good against crawlers. But it's very easy to go too hard on the arclights and make yourself vulnerable. It's a difficult unit to use correctly.
      So the underground turn, the arclights are terrible against his board so they would be only for the ug threat. Better to setup a board that is good on future turns than try to minimize one round damage with bad deployments.
      I will make a leveling guide in the future but in short there's lots of overkill in this game and big units are stuck on chaff so extra health doesnt matter and extra damage doesnt matter (for some units, most of the time)

    Sry it's that noob here again with his questions.
    Can you explain a little behind why you called (potential) war factory at round 3?

      @@BuzzaB77 ah I thought I feared of him making war factory against my forts but now that i watch this I was thinking of doing it myself.
      So I saw the flanking rhino and the forward rhino and that usually means the enemy starts deploying more stuff in the flank and in front of my tower. The Factory will shoot in every direction and kill the rhinos instantly. It's very good against all in pushes that utilize the flank a lot

    Could you explain the reaction to the start COs and unit comps? I've been away from the meta for awhile but Rhino Specialist with balls and crawlers struck me as a decent agro pick (haven't played since a bit after War Factory release. I assume the meta is very different now and just trying to get a grasp at where it is at now).

    • @andrewbell6855
      @andrewbell6855 4 месяца назад +2

      Depends how long you've been away. A few months ago they made the 1st 2 rows unplayable for the first deployment and nerfed Rhino to turn 4. I personally wouldn't really pick that start, and most of the time the Rhino is 200g and a free recycle tech on turn 4 or 5 after a bit of harrass

      Mustangs are now considered below average. Crawlers are generally a bit better than fangs. War factories, been buffed, then nerfed. Scorpions are pretty solid and the catch all for ground units. Overlords been nerfed a bit. New mercenary units can appear only in cards/chaos turns

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  4 месяца назад +3

      it's a bit of an overreaction :D all of them are actually pretty good. I don't like to start with crawler/ball, its ok but it usually forces you to do a brain dead push and you need to commit to it. Speed spec has good units but its a bad specialist, same with quick supply. The cost control is very good. One of the best specialist and i dont like crawlers with cost control and crawlers are pretty op with everything else so having arcs against crawlers is good in this case

      yea on one side if they split from the middle, lev2 beats lev1 + replicate. UG is 2 packs of crawlers

    Hey dude, how's it going? Bought this game three days ago and I'm currently sitting at almost 1k MMR. I got a few questions: a) what does "push" really mean? Seems like "WASP push" means the other guy surprise transitioned into WASPs? Is that it? b) can you make a guide on which units levels are crucial (marksmen, hacker) and which ones can safely be recruited at lvl 1 (sledges?). I think I might be overusing the "elite recruitment" button. c) why do you rate Sabers so frigging low? They are giga tanky and are probably the best user of missile interception in the game. I always pick them in my games, am I wrong? d) can you make a video on Fangs? In my games they always feel inferior to crawlers and I hate having them in my starter pack. Maybe I just don't understand how they're supposed to be played?
    Anyway, great content, love the SC2 music.

    • @SurreyEZ
      @SurreyEZ  4 месяца назад +3

      a) when units are deployed near your base to threaten to take your tower
      b) good idea! dont use the button almost ever. Round 6+ if you need a new medium unit type like mustang/hacker/balls its good sometimes
      c) Its a good pickup from the free units to use for a couple or rounds but building more of them usually will result in losing to giants a little bit later. They probably feel very good because lower ranked players tend to not build enough crawlers/fangs so the sabers actually kill some big stuff and not shoot chaff. the AM is legit though
      d) ruclips.net/video/nFhlX6JG77A/видео.html better vs sledge/arc and you can have late chaff with them since they are slower than crawlers

      @@SurreyEZ Wow, you're awesome. Thank you for the fast response! In my last game I built 11 packs of crawlers, so I don't think I have that issue. Another video suggestion is a guide on giant rushing. When to go for, how to defend etc. Every time I tried a round 2 giant I lost the game. But other players beat me with it, so they must know something I don't.
      Thanks again, I'm already subbed.
