I am sure he is smart, but ease to learn a language has more to do with a particular skill geared towards it than intelligence. There are some genius level people out there who couldn't speak a language after years of hard work properly if their life depended on it. Still, a skill is a skill and he is indeed amazing.

He’s so talented even though he’s Japanese and fluent in Korean. Throughout the series, I was supporting Hikaru, Myungjae, Taeseon, Junwon, Jaemin, & Santa as they are all talented. I’m happy in the end Hikaru debuted with the group.
