I really like how this teaching ignores the fleshly interpretation of this mishpat and focuses on it's application for the tzadeek. Toda raba, Mr. Botkin. -Tom Griffin, Gleaning The Scriptures

Excellent interpretation of Torah. Thank you!
I believe that the captive bride is not taken as a wife against her will because God would never condone that, we have to remember that Torah is written for God's people who are commanded to be humble, kind, merciful and faithful. Just because Torah does not explicitly say she is not married against her will does not mean that it isn't so. So, my interpretation of the captive woman is that the soldier falls for her as soon as he sees her and treats her with great kindness and wins her love by taking her to a good home and caring for her and then if she agrees to marry him he has her bewail her gentile family and embrace his Israelite family. Anyone who knows God knows that He would never force a woman to marry a man whom she does not want to marry. God is a righteous and holy God. Folks just make a lot of assumptions. Daniel touched on this very thing when he said she is not merely a captive, but a captivated captive, she too is in love with him!! This is how God works, He is righteous.

If one were to continue with your logic to its conclusion, then the Bride of Christ from among the nations is doomed to be the hated wife whose children are at risk of being rebellious to an extreme that deserves the death penalty.

Thank you Brother Daniel. The last scripture has a wrong address...it should be Psalms 45: 14-17. Not John. Isn't it good to know we are all human? Smile.

It is possible the event occurred very early on when Mr. Botkin was first coming out of dispensationalism.
I offer we are human and don't always cover those bases....
There was another one of these where Oral Torah was getting a lil justification. Is there some good we can gleen from Talmud... Yes ... some, but Deu 4:2, and Deu 12:32 shall not add. Using Deu 17 when you can't work a matter amongst yourselves go to the priests is used just like Peter was given the keys to the kingdom... groups of men claim devine interpretation by twisting the scriptures to their own, and unfortunately many others destruction...
This is a rough crowd that reads scriptures, so I believe folks should have their stuff together, while at the same time us the tough crowd still needs to offer grace..
Should it be a simple small error of forgetting to preface or keep it clear. great... It would be very considerate, and appreciated to let us know. :)

The captive bride “needing to shave her head” can resemble pride-her glory. Just as one comes into the world bald and naked, we are to be transformed into his image as originally intended. (Let us make man in our own image (Gen 1:26-31).
Also, taking a woman captive is an act of mercy for her husband and parents was probably slain in the battle, and she would’ve been orphaned, at best.

Had to stop watching (~4 min mark) when you covered how getting a wife only for that generation going thru cannan. WRONG! I have PTSD that it hard to communicate, so sometimes my writing can look like an attack, but the WORD of YAH is not close to being PC (political correct) like this Torah.
    1) They were to wipe out those who didn't leave but stayed this included women, children and animals.
    2) You are basically saying that Yisreal could use Saul's not following the commandment that had him lose being king.
    3) You even touch on WW2 men taking a German wife, but then cover other nations at war. Wow every war that is longer than a few months in history many men/warriors have brought back wives from the enemies countries.
    4) maybe the gray hair confuses me, in proverbs those with gray hair are to be wise, but in Genesis the young unwise bring down those with gray hair. So u may be younger not to remember in WW2 Americans brought back wives from Germany, Japan, Italy, etc, and even some German POWs that were in prison in the USA went back to Germany with American Wives. Same wit Vietnam, Korea, etc Americans brought back Wives.
    5) just think if those Americans who had trouble because they brought wives from war enemy countries if they knew this Torah and showed it some would have accepted the couple.
    6) sadly most "traditional - not under the law ... Would have used your"only that generation / Jews or Israel" thought process. U said to your friend "NOT to criticize the Torah (YAHs instructions) but by trying to use Gentile thought process related to this Torah are u not doing just that?
    7) sadly HRN [especially this teaching] shows Dispensationalism that its ok to criticize a Torah by putting on limits?
    8) True teachers acknowledge when they are wrong, but i dont think I have seen many if not most of HRN teachers (or anyone) show that comments are ever read. Which says u all see it as lowering yourselves? I have gotten replies if i write to some HRN teachers via writing them at theit ministries website, but not via HRN's.
    9) this error in this teaching, could be used to prove one can criticize Law / Torah as only for the (Israel = dispensationalism / bondage) even though as covered in #5, Gentile Nations (Goi / Goyim) warriors follow this one, except the bootcamp haircut for the wife. But then is HRN a dispensationalism ministry?

I think Daniel Botkin who has great knowledge of Torah and Hebrew and Greek is able to speak to the Torah portions well. The underlying point of the message is that of kindness to the bride....the favor of the captor towards those He has won. This is a display of grace to the bride from the bridegroom. In return He has won her love and obedience.

@@lindastorm7264 I agree on his teaching. No one is perfect with their teachings. I am not attacking his teaching ... but the error right at the start. ... go back to start around the 4 min mark. He is stating that getting a wife during waring in land of cannan only, and after that no.
Battles in cannan the people there had 2 choices leave or genocide... no capture of anyone.
Daniel covers no wives after cannan. I am an old vet. Every war of the US wives of both enemies and allies US veterans came back with wives are they breaking Torah? (Remember the Torah says the Torah is for all).
We are NOT to put any human on a Pedestal. Sadly those who come out of traditions over the Word via both Christianity and Yahudism do this due to both hang onto Dispensationalism.
Thess says to Test everything . To keep what is Good. Yashua covers Good (functional) to YAH Torah.
U cover the "underlying point" of this teaching message ... i am NOT talking about anything u cover in your reply. I am covering an error.
I have been a teacher (in Bible, healthcare, military, law enforcement, leadership +) for over 40 years, and have taught others to be instructors in each over 30 years. #1 instruction is to have a mentor mindset. This means listening to students especially when they believe the instructor got it wrong or a different perspective.
He has now proven 2 things, first he (or someone at HRN) reads even replies to original replies. Second via giving u a heart means agree with you, not me. Don't get me wrong i don't care about gold stars which is what this showing. I see giving a heart as someone has read the replies.
Each occupation (which overlap) i have worked in has the perspective of no need for a "good job" especially since all of them if we don't get it right the first time dangerous consequences can happen. All of them also understand there will be errors, but we do everything to learn from them and fix it.
Maybe 3rd? First again i am pointing out an error ur reply doesn't cover anything i wrote rt the error only what the teaching main point was. I have watched several of his teachings i agree with what u say, but your reply in a way u didn't read and tested what I said. Via not doing a heart on mine either says he is ignoring what I covered OR hopefully he will test what i pointed to and either redo / fix it, or reply and explain whatever.
Sadly here on yt on Torah observing channels i see people doing what the rich young ruler did with Yashua via seeking for a Rabbi that had teachings that agreed with the seeker, same as today. They write "good teaching / etc) good teachers want those who are able to explain why they learned, what confused them. Or what they disagree with that's what the closest to Yashua did, they asked, and got explanation, but Yashua is the Word in the flesh He doesn't get things wrong (except via poor translations) only human Prophets are not get prophecy wrong. Teachers are to test if they did a brain infarct, slip of the tongue, etc. Usually teachers catch it right away but Torah says if one makes a mistake and forgets (doesn't catch it right away) when they remember (or reminded) they are to fix it.
What was the command of YAH how to treat the people in the Land? What would happen if Yisrael disobeyed? If they didn't leave the land. Only genocide kill them all. So where's the exemption on can take a wife in cannan? Why the siege offer of leave or war and no prisoners? Because their wickedness did what to the land? So when Daniel says the prisoner wife is only in the land of cannan it doesn't agree with going into the land. Once they win most of land it's called Yisrael not Cannan anymore. Now wars later after death of Sholomoh Solomon then wars between the two kingdoms but neither is called cannan.
Word / Torah is clear we can reason with YAH, HE even commans it; then we can reason with our teachers and between Natzarene / Nazarene ... Hebrew which means Branches both born, and grafted into Yisrael... no Gentiles one's faith passport is changed to Native Yisrael.

When we assign Torah differently to different generations is that not dispensationalism? Again just a speaking point, but we aren't to make Torah relevant to us, we are to become relevant to Torah. Peace and Blessings.... Shabbat Shalom!!!!

Dispensationalism in Christianity means there’s a new sheriff in town so to speak, antisemitism. Out with the old in with the new, aka Replacement Theology, get rid of that old Jewish stuff and introduce pagan ideals, i.e. Sunday worship, doing away with God’s holy feast days, eat whatever you want etc.
