Yes, for me, I found Yvonne & Unieke right about when she lost her foal and Rising Star lost his momma. I had been watching a series set in Australia called Bondi Vet, during the early part of the COVID epidemic, and one of the vets accomplished a similar life saving operation. Once I 'met' Yvonne, Unieke, Risey, and the rest of this WONDERFUL community, I happily joined the herd. As a now-24 year + brain injury survivor (an auto collision that should never have happened!), I was horrified by Yvonne's accident. I wish I didn't understand what she has been going through, but I do. A dear friend of mine suffered a terrible head injury (no one knows what happened; she is incredibly lucky-she was found in a forest, in a ditch, by someone passing by, who got her to a hospital in Denver CO, where she underwent brain surgery, had a metal plate installed, and woke up a month later with no idea who she was, even her NAME, where she was, or what had happened. Some major miracles occurred, and she is now at home with her family in Detroit, struggling but alive, knowing her name, speaking so much better, and physically tired but fit!!! I MEAN A MIRACLE!) almost a year ago as well, and I send her videos of Yvonne's progress to inspire her. I too am inspired by Yvonne's incredibly swift recovery process. Horses are HEALERS! And Yvonne KNOWS that this major turning point in her life has been an awesome blessing, even with the pain, the challenges, the exhaustion, and the embarrassment she experiences! As a brain injury survivor who did not KNOW I HAD A BRAIN INJURY FOR 10 YEARS, AND DID NOT GET A PROPER DIAGNOSIS FOR ANOTHER 3 YEARS, AND LOST MY ATTEMPT TO GET U.S. DISABILITY COMPENSATION SO I AM ESSENTIALLY PENNILESS, unable to work regularly since 2008, I am so GLAD to witness the kind of immense caring, treatment, recognition of the situation, and all the outpouring of love for Yvonne. I myself went through probably the worst patch I've ever experienced in my adult life and your channel helped me through! It was the videos about Queen Uniek and Risey! I wasn't 100% but just a month before I "got my mind right" (started the job where I am now, at the last place I thought I'd be again! I still think the name is lovely and can be given to a new foal in the future, no matter who the mare is. Take care of yourself of course and thank you for your continued videos. Thanks I'm so glad your channel gets the recognition it deserves and that you're well on your way to a full recovery after your accident. I think this is, in part due to your strength but also the horses who I believe possess some therapeutic qualities. Due to my own health problems, I have been unable to leave my house for 3 years however, I find your videos are very good for me. There's something very calming about them and whenever I feel stressed or down, I will play one of your videos and feel better and more relaxed. But I want to say that you latest videos of thanks show just how humble and grateful you are for your surviving the accident and your supporters. You have worked incredibly hard since you started your channel and still you keep working. A lot of people would have quit. You deserve every bit of what you have now, with your new stable, horses, ponies, everything! Every time I see you with the boys and Bauke I feel so happy you are all together. I don't even want to imagine them dealing with your loss. So, we are SOOO glad you are here. We feel responsible for you and your family. It was so hard for Bauke. He was taking good care of the boys but his heart was broken. We are so grateful that you survived and are still in recovery. Once we did have a filly from Uniek and we called her Marijke. After my aunt and my sister. But after a couple of months, the filly passed away 😔
This is a very late reply, but I understand why Unique is done with any new foals or pregnancies. How sad indeed. I still think the name is lovely and can be given to a new foal in the future, no matter who the mare is. Take care of yourself of course and thank you for your continued videos. I'm so glad your channel gets the recognition it deserves and that you're well on your way to a full recovery after your accident. I think this is, in part due to your strength but also the horses who I believe possess some therapeutic qualities.
Due to my own health problems, I have been unable to leave my house for 3 years however, I find your videos are very good for me. There's something very calming about them and whenever I feel stressed or down, I will play one of your videos and feel better and more relaxed. For this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️❤️.
