A while ago, especially now that policy is changing to where employers need to state a reason for firing. Also, not every job is burger flipping. Hiring for positions that have real requirements is difficult, training new employees puts a strain on you as a manager and on the other employees. In most cases there's a good reason why an employee is insubordinate, although it's not your job to be their therapist. What matters is establishing and MAINTAINING your authority, while being perceptive to your employee's concerns. As a leader it's not your job to bark orders.
The damage that have brought upon this country and the the countries they negatively affected will engulf them all the pain and suffering they brought upon the world it will destroy them
And so it has...today we have a plague that was caused by people not listening ....it will be the downfall of the world...it has lead us into despair and damnation...think we would learn...
I got a question is in subordination if I refuse to use a communicator? And give out your personal number? we just recently started using this year with GPS tracking and before hire and years before we never had them. Even though I am not a team lead and they use me as a messenger to tell others what to do when the manager has everyone's personal number.
Hi Juan, thanks for your message. We would recommend you share your concerns with your manager and the HR department, as they should be able to provide more information as to the communicator use and any requirements surrounding it. That way, they will be aware of your concerns about being a messenger and about using your personal number for work-related purposes. Best of luck!
I think some people have different definitions of insubordination. I have disagreed with my manager before if I see that the way he wants to do something will destroy tooling. That would be insubordination at some places. It is not insubordination I don't want to destroy tooling. He is still my manager.
If you to be number 1. you need to work on making working conditions as best as possible.Employees should nominate this leader not the employer. You need to study about violence.
Hi Blake, this can certainly be challenging. We suggest starting with an open conversation with the subcontractor to try to arrive at a win-win outcome. Clearly and respectfully express your concerns to the subcontractor and outline your expectations, and allow them to do the same. This can be a challenging conversation, so stay open-minded and calm as you discuss with the subcontractor and look to understand the situation from their point of view. Often, a meeting like this will allow you to come to an agreement and a plan for next steps so the relationship can continue. Best of luck!
I highly doubt it.... you got fired most likely for being argumentative, hostile and emotional (not because you simply didn't want to do the wrong thing). People rarely get fired for something like that. You either 1.) thought you were smarter, more experienced, etc. 2.) Let your ego get the best of you. 3.) Just didn't respect the new boss. Let me get this straight, "they" can be insubordinate but you cannot be. Wow! When I calmly list the preparation, review, and lack of tools needed for a job, that are squarely set as manager responsibilities, but are repeatedly absent when job assignments are handed out. You would catagorize me as insubordinate. The truth, with respect to an incompetent manager puts a target on your back for public humiliation. Is it not strange, that the competent manager has men that love him or her and will bend over backwards to make them successful. I would never condone cussing or any form of disrespect, however, little attention is given to the "manager" failures compared to the bad bad employee who the manager has been intrusted with for growth. One had to have sycophantic tendencies to want to lead, teach, supervise, or law enforcement; you should be put in an institution till your get well.
