If a company breaches a contract for a service and then it takes me time to investigate and purchase a similar contract with another company. What damages can i seek for my loss of time in investigating a breach of the contract initially and purchasing another service from another provider to mitigate my loss?

I'm guessing this would come under loss of expectation? .

You would be able to claim general damages for this, to put you back in the position you would have been in had the contract been properly performed.
Applying Hadley vBaxendale ([1854] you can claim all loss which flows naturally from the breach.
