My wife and I have stopped going on weekend trips throughout the winter just to break even from last year’s expenses. When we retired in Nov 2018 we traveled for 7 months and spent x dollars. This era has all the ear marks of the Carter presidency except Carter was an honorable person and his administration was somewhat competent. Reagan's economy generated more jobs than you can shake a stick at. Unfortunately, "Trickle Down" economics ended in 1993 when Clinton ended the low flat income tax that was the center piece of "Trickle Down" economics but for the decade it was the central economic policy, the economy ended inflation and added 20 million new jobs.
