We had a hydraulic line fail, box was in the air, blew during lunch break. The safety bar was crushed, no one was hurt, a definite wake up call for everyone!
Those are parker push lock fittings on the hoses for your dogs. Just cut the hose off the fitting, trim the bad spot off and push it back on the fitting
Her husband would know if there was enough length to get away with that. Also likely the hose is splitting due to age and will just split again very soon. Not worth the risk of being stopped at a light on a busy intersection and plugging an air leak with horns blaring and drivers cursing!
@@smengine That is a part of a truck air system that I've never worked on or looked at. If it was the cylinder side, why did her husband empty the air tank? It's your panel squeaking not the seat, put the felt on the panel. One thing I always keep in a toolbox on the truck is air line of every size (plastic and rubber) fittings are generally reusable so I also have extra ferals. Also a good electrical kit and wire. I don't know how many times it's saved my bacon and other driver's as well. I also have a decent assortment of tools (sockets, wrenches up to 1 1/4" , 2 pipe wrenches, a set of Cresent wrenches, screw drivers, ect...)

I'm glad 2 C U had the safety bar up when U R tinkering under the box. Years ago I remember a local "Dump Trucker" was killed when his box suddenly lowered.
Hi, this is Bill from Pulltarps. I've talked with our customer service manager about your tarp getting stuck on the corner of the housing, he let me know that the reason you're having trouble is that the tarp should roll out from the bottom of the roller tube and not the top. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Just open it up and fix it. Most of the time a person can get brushes at Ace or True Value. Over sized brushes can always be massaged down to size, so a person doesn't have to be too fussy. Wort case measure the brushes and order them.
I operated heavy equipment for about 40 years. I never like dump trucks or any trucks require a lot of attention. I admire you for your work ethic you probably take care of the home and you are out trucking in the day.
Hello Daum, oh yes the joys Sunday dump trk maintenance. U R a very busy Lady to balance all the things. It will get better when the bugs R worked out. We R all pulling 4 Ur success & hope U have a good week!
Mink oil, leather conditioner, talcum powder or baby powder should quite down the squeaking. I just don't know how long either will last before it comes back.
I would weld two aluminum covers in those corners and your issues there will be solved and won't interfere with weight or yardage. Weld just below first front box support . Material likes to collect in those corners this will stop it . 22 1/2 or 45 angle
I noticed your truck has the same suspension as mine. Didn't know if you knew but if you keep an eye on your lower torque rod bushings and change them when they start getting play with the 2 piece neoprene you'll never have to change uppers. BTW the uppers really suck to change.
Hello Dauminique, I just do this to keep my seats clean but this might help you with your noisey seat problem, I just buy pillow cases and pull down over the top of the seat back and they can be cut up the sides and altered and sewed on each side of the split for your arm rests . And they come in all different colors so, you can find you a color that matches with your interior color . And yes it is a lot different when you own your truck now, instead of driving a truck for a company or for just an individual person . When you are a truck owner is sort of like me myself living here on the farm, there is always some kind of maintenance work to do, even if it's just little things . But that is just part of everyday life, with lots of things . I will see you later so be careful and stay safe out there on the road and keep on trucking. As always, Jeffrey !!!
Well at least you had some nice weather to work on your nice looking truck. Good grief the fuel prices are nuts. Keep your chin up and soldier on. Thanks for another great video !!!
Work 5 days a week, up at 4:30 am, half a day on Saturday. Sunday, 4 hours to grease the truck, adjust breaks, wash, clean cab and go fuel up. When you get home Sunday afternoon you're to tired to do anything except eat, shower and watch half the game. You speak to your girl and she turns and spits in your face. That's trucking, what a wonderful life.
What an amazing team you an your husband are, May the lord continue to bless you all in all aspects of your life, an thank you for sharing your videos with us 🙏👍👌😀 💙💚💙.
Great kitchen you have there,I bet you must be a great cook too.My kitchen is too small but oh well we have to be thankful for what we have after seeing what is happening in Ukraine.
I remember my brother was owner/operator of semi tractor and flatbed trailer, when he wasn't driving he was doing maintenance or sleeping. He drove long haul, him and his wife pretty much had separate lives. He did this for years until it got to expensive to be a owner/ operator, couldn't compete with the big companies. He loved every minute of being a trucker and still misses it, told me once that it became addicting to him.
My son's crib was on wheels, and when he woke in the a.m., he would hold on the top rail an start jumping to wake us up. Crib would move over slab floor 4 or 5 ft. EVERY MORNING!!
Kent Industries has a product you can spray on interior plastic parts.. I used it years ago on the sidedoor interior trim touching the trim @ the headliner, it works great.. So spray it on the seatback and cab.
Just another day in the life of a owner operator. Good luck trying to sleep in the baby will probably wake you up early 😂😂. Take care and have a blessed week and I'll see you on your next video.
Sprinkle some baby powder on the back of your seat and cab that is what cowboy do to a new saddle when riding a new saddle and they do Squeak like that
Great video as always. Diesel over here (UK) now averaging about £1-50 a litre. At todays exchange rate that works out at $ 8-99 a gallon !!!!! Worlds gone crazy.
Build up in the box, I know it is 1 more thing to deal with but when I ran dump truck I installed small pneumatic vibrators to the box ( you choose the location depending where you have the most build up of material) and ran airlines both metal and rubber flexible to them with a switch control in the cab. Did not always require the vibratory but it was effective at the end of the dump cycle when necessary. If you really don't mind climbing in and out of the box to shove then problem solved! And unless you create a little distance between the seat and the wall nothing will prevent the squeaking after a period of time and wear.
@@DauminiqueTheDumpTruckDriver OK... not sure I understand what you are telling me? Steel floor with a bracket welded to floor and a vibrator mounted to the bracket. But hay whatever works for you!
Maybe you could think about installing some ball valves in the lines that operate the dogs. A ruptured hose would be a bad situation to leave you on the side of the road. If one did rupture, just close a couple of valves. They could be installed more forward toward the cab or even in the cab, check, they may already be up there.
As for the seat, the thick diamond tuck (which is why KW has way more class than all the rest) is not ever gonna stop squeaking if run air on the seat and the seat all the way back. I’ve drove many W900’s (same cab) and never ran air on the seat. That was one reason, the other is I’m 6’1” and had to room otherwise. Also, if you lived in Va you’d be very concerned about the tarp. Va will write you a ticket in a flat second for not tarping everything. No matter what the commodity.
I do not know about you guys but I am having a hell of a time finding OEM parts for my older Truck. There always back ordered I never seen such dysfunction in our supply chain
Just discovered your channel the other day. Great stuff! You've probably solved the seat rub issue by now. Some things never change in a KW day cab! Might have to call MacGyver! Stay safe over there on the west side!
Seat squeak. Silicone spray lube. Apply it to the cab and the seat. While it may not be a long term solution I bet it lasts longer than you expect. Keep the can in the truck with a micro fiber towel and re-apply while you are getting loaded or waiting on scales etc. Felt probably has to come off.
Try putting a sweat shirt over the seat back, so that it rides between the seat and the cab. If that solves your issue then you know where to concentrate your effort, Otherwise it could be the seat itself. Thanks for sharing.
If you run any Milwaukee M18 battery tools they make an awesome wet/dry vacuum that is the size of a small hand tool box. The battery last a long time.
Check the resistance of the tarp motor that isn't working and the one that is with an ohmmeter and compare the readings. If they are really different then it probably is bad. Like if the good motor has something like 35 ohms and the bad one has 17 ohms it's most likely bad.
My western star does it too I just keep it ahead so it won’t touch. Doesn’t work for you? Love the Cletus shirt as well. And look into getting a 20V dewalt 1/2 gallon vac. Works really well

Every time I see your trailer I am fascinated. Like I have wrote we don't have that in the Northeast. Make a cloth type of sack that will fit over your headrest so it won't sqeak. Then you can remove it to wash. I had one for my Peterbilt.
