@userman777 - Thanks man. I can honestly say that the V2 and V1s only defference will be the materials used. Comfort, fit, traction and so on will be the same. Flywire is only used in the heel area and forefoot as described in the vid, same goes for the V2. The upper material will be mesh and a light fabric like nubuck which will still provide the same level of fit and protection as the V1. Hope this helps out.
@basketballphile - thanks! Kinda double stacked. There is phylon on top of the air bag, then they placed a molded phylon under the air bag. So you get a double phylon midsole in the heel area which is great for impact protection. Haven't gone to the rack in a bit. Maybe this weekend lol.
@stewiegriffen2k8 - The V2 will be the same performance wise. Biggest diff will be the breathability & materials used on the upper making it more lightweight. The Kobe VI will be reviewed as well so stay tuned.
@MrD32ify - Thanks man! To answer your question, the V2 has the same performance specs as the V1. The main difference will be weight and breathability. The V2 is made of more flywire to reduce weight and it also contains a lot more perforations for breathability. Other than that it will perform the same. Im going to try and get the V2 mainly bc I want to see if there is going to be a huge difference, but I doubt it.
@mxs703 - I forst thought that it would, but it didnt. As a Guard we use our forefoot quite often. The max bag is very thin in the forefoot which helps a ton. The heel is great when your just pushing the ball up the court and landing from rebounds. Im a 1/2G and these are one of my fav sneakers to play in so far.
@mdude66 - The V1 & V2 have decent support. The PS have more in the arch area. Some have complained the PS have too much arch support. There are inserts you can purchase that way you can just slide them into any shoe you want so you wont have to be so limited with your purchases.
@syck40 - Ive never liked Air Max as well. These new LeBrons have a little more air in the bag so its not so unbalanced when wearing them. Once you get used to it you dont even notice you are off the ground a good inch or so. These have really good court feel so its not an issue. If you thought about buying them just go try them on, that will sway you in the right direction. Once I tried them on I walked out the door with them lol.
@BebopNum9 - I dont think theyre too bulky, not like they used to be anyway. When compaired to kobes then of course. Either of the shoes are very nice. Kobes I feel have better overall traction but thats only by like 1/2 a point. The lebron 8s have the best traction from heel to toe, they just forgot the add traction to the outrigger which is pretty annoying to me personally. Hope that helps you out bro.
@GameSpirit23 - They will be fine outdoor but the surface of the court will wear down the rubber outsole faster which can eventually damage teh Air unit.
@OLDIFUDGE - If the length from heel to toe is good then you prob just need to allow the padding to conform to your foot a bit. The padding is significant in the LeBron 8 which is great as it helps contain your heel much better.
@VintageRayAllen - I think they are both great. Depends on the type of cushion you want really. Max Air or Zoom Air. The 2010 needed more padding around the ankle and heel area though. The 2010 will break in within a few games so gove it some time and I think you'll love them.
@thebballtruth42 - I didnt have that problem at all, on the first wear these stuck to the floor like glue for me other than on the outrigger. I have noticed that the Kobe 6 traction gets better the more you wear it so give it some time and it may be the same for you in these. Also, if the floor is dirsty or dusty it wont help at all.
@androidowns - When just trying them on the LeBrons take it for sure. Casually they beat the Kobes as well. For me personally when playing I prefer the Kobe cushion. The Air Max bag in the forefoot of the LeBrons was a little small BUT the LeBron 8 PS have the heel cushion with added zm air in the forefoot so those should be incredible! Hope that helps!
@studentathlete10 - Not sure, may depend on the type of player you are. If you cut hard and fast with the outside of your foot often that outrigger traction wont do well for you. If you are a straight up and down player the front to back traction I thought was very good.
@2NDblunt - The V2 yes, the PS I havent tried on yet so I cant really say for sure yet. Ill be getting the black/red pair this weekend I think so I will know later on.
@ToaIgnika1000 - Style is personal preference. Retail prices were around the same, now though you can get each of those for $100 or less if you search. Performance wise Id go with the LeBron 8 or 2010. The 2011s were great but the Fly Wades were better.
@gkeopha509 - The Kobe line would be good as well as the Hyperfuse. The LeBron 8s work well but are a bit heavier. Overall it really depends on what type of cushion and fit you prefer. So Id say go to the store and pick 2-3 pairs youre interested in and try them on, one on each foot, until you narrow it down to just one pair.
@airjordanxiv - Thanks! Right out of the box they felt great, but that was bc the new insole was brand new and still very squishy. When playing in the shoe there was a noticable defference between the heel and forefoot cushion, heel being much more comfortable. Im sure thats how most air bags are since they get lower in the toe and Im used to zm air which is a more consistant source of cushion. The LJ8 PS should fix the issue with forefoot zm air so cant wait to try those out.
@IAmthespriteMan - It really depends. If you can try them on that would be best. Or at least get a pair with soft materials like suede or any of the V2s.
@232425shootingguards - Not much at all when compaired. Your cushion in the forefoot for the lebrons comes from the insole they provided. The LeBron 8 PS should be a great ride since it has both types of cushion.
@232425shootingguards - I dont have them so I cant quite answer that honestly. I have seen them and felt the materials and they may hold up for a while but eventually the mesh upper will get beat if you are playing in them. They dont have that protective 'skin' like the kobe 6 does on top of that mesh.
@KingAznInvazn19 - Not really. Its nubuck or suede or something and it still looks good after beating them up on court. I dont know about the leather pairs though so you would have to ask someone that has them.
@thebballtruth42 - I checked out your review a while back, good stuff. Im still planning on getting a pair just to do a review myself, holidays though lol. The Lebrons are good for everyone. Im a 1 & 2 guard and I was very surprized with how the shoe didnt stop me from playing the way im used to.
@bmpatel624 - Really depends on the type of player you are. If you like to sut and slash then the Kobes would be better suited for you. If your an overall type of player the Lebrons are great. As for other shoes, The Kobe 4 is the best Ive used within its price point. The Jordan 2010 & 2011 are also both very nice, the 2010s can be found for great prices if you search hard enough as well. The soldier 3s are nice as well. Hope that helps a bit.
@airjordan23III - I have cool grey VIIs, 'dunkman' VII lows, bred 8s, bred ps, sprite 8 lows... and the white/black VII ps and soldier 3s but thats all the brons I have I think.
@treckter66 - Was it a liquid? You should try the suede & nubuck cleaning kit from foot locker. Its just a little brush and eraser thing, wont damage the materials the way a liquid could. Ive heard baby oil works to restore color in the suede as well but Ive never tried it. I think you can find the tutorial on niketalk.
excellent review! very well done! I'm so glad i am subscribed to you and I can't wait to see more videos! Just a quick question: Have you heard anything about the Reebok Slash basketball shoes? They're the one's that John Wall wears. I purchased them and I am concerned about playing in them. Would you mind doing a review on them if possible. Thanks alot. Keep it up man!
@SystemSyko - Never played in the 2's, my first LeBron was the Soldier 3 lol. The sole is flat on these as well but the double layer of traction is sweet!
@nightwing2303 sorry to hear that your injured bro, I hope you recover real soon.I think i might review the lebron 8 v3 (aka PS) once their discounted cause theres no way i'm paying $150. They look like a beast of a shoe with zoom air in forefoot (probably double because its lebron) and air max in the hell. The v3s will crush the Air Max Fly By because of the mushy midsoles with no zoom air. Best of luck with your recovery
Easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever played in. Plus, I bought some different insoles which had a lot of cushioning adding to the already great feel. I'm also a big man so I don't really care if the shoes are light or not so LeBrons are perfect for me. The ankle support is also fantastic.
Great review very informative and helpful. I'm thinking about getting these or waiting until the Kobe 6 releases. I have a Video request. could you do a performance review of some past air jordans? Such as the 11,14,or other numbered air jordans? It'd be cool to see and I'd appreciate it and I think others here would find it pretty cool too
@KId2RAw - Usually I would agree with you 100% but I liked the LeBron 8 better than the Kobe 6, performance wise, this time around. Though the Kobe 4s top them all imo.
@bmpatel624 - I love the Kobe 5 except the traction but if youre going to play indoors then theyre just fine. Soldier 3s traction is great and had no complaints, I used those for outdoor hoops and they were great on dirty/dusty floors. Jordan 2011s are compairable to the kobe 6s as far as traction goes. Im just not sure how long the leather will hold up on the 2011s since its very soft right out of the box.
@ToaIgnika1000 - They arent the best shoe for a point guard but if you prefer air max cushion these are one of the best out there right now. I did review the PS and thought the V1 & V2 are much better. I have yet to try out a pair of cp3's but I will eventually get to them.
Great video, I bought these to play ball in and was reluctant about the $160 price tag, after seeing your review and playing ball in them I don't regret the purchase at all. Plus it helps me to explain why there is a difference between some generic Nikes versus a signature shoe. Keep em coming.
Great review again...so wut ur saying is that the heel has phylon built into the 360 air kinda like its double stacked or juss the midsole? Find anything new at nostrom rack lately? lol
@MrDRoss20 - I did a performance review a long time ago on the ZKIV, it wasnt the best review but I did make one. If I get more requests for a re-do then I can do that.
nightwing2303 this is the best shoe performance review on the internet!!! no one else actually spends time playing in them and provides such detailed reviews!! keeep up the good work man!! :D
@nightwing2303 does the lebrons feel bulky? i'm debating between the Zoom Kobe 6 or the Lebron 8 v/2's..just wanna hear our opinion..thanks bro..keep up the good work on your reviews..
@mastergrim8 - LAMO! I did check the V2 last night for the first time. Theyre very nice IMO and theyll offer the same performance performance as the V1, but I dont know how well the mesh will hold up since its out the outer layer and will take a beating on court. I havent ever had an Air bag 'pop' on me before... might be bc I dont weigh that much though. Ive seen Air bags break apart when used outdoors and heel drag goes through the outsole and ruins the Air bag.
I love the traction on the shoe , the outrigger points arent that amzing but even though im a guard im not cutting a lot im more of a shooter, im planning on geting the v2 should i ? or should i get the Kobe 6/s ? what do u like better oh and review on kobe 6's pleaseee !!!
@michalusOG - For a performance review, I personally dont think its important. I can understand why ppl like the on foot thing with causal kicks, but for me I could care less how they look as long as they perform well. However, I do take shots of what Im hooping in/ reviewing currently via Twitter.
Amazing as always. Never been a air max fan, i feel they are 2 high to the ground for me. I tried 7 on and I felt i i am wearing platform shoes, are these just as high?
@beebotheman23 - The Hyperfuse are much lighter than the 8s. I did like the cushion and traction in the 8s better than the Hyperfuse though. There is also the 8 V2 which a little mix of both attribute wise.
@Lemke68 - Thanks! I have thought about doing performance reviews on past Air Jordans. The only thing is that pretty much all of them wont perform to todays standards other than the XIII, XIV, XIX and so on. Plus the newer stuff is not made to play in anymore, and the older stuff I have is not wearable.
@mjshannon1977 - Its a hard choice. I like how the LeBrons fit with much more padding. I LOVE Zoom Air, but the Max Air bag was really nice once they added phylon below and above it. The one thing the LeBrons dont have is the independant toe, but both are great to play in!
@nightwing2303 alright, thats sorta what i thought would you would say, where would you rank the kobe 5's in your top 10? i plan on getting those to ball in. im also wondering about the kd 2 or 3's you should a review on those. i played in the hyperfuse already and i like those but i dont like it alot for some reason.
@mastergrim8 - Thanks bro! I hope to be good to go soon but my knee is really messed up right now. The Dr almost thought Id need surgery to repair, which luckily isnt the case. I want to play in the PS pretty bad. They do look like theyll be really fun to play in. At this point I just really want to play. I hung out with the guys I play with the other night and just watched... boy was I jealous...
hey i was wondering if your gonna do a performance review on the lebron 8 v2s because i'm interested in seeing how that plastic crap (not worth 160 compared to that premium leather in v1s) holds up. i'm skeptical of the support in the v2s. i dont know if this has been asked before but, what is the average life span of the air max 360 bubble in basketball shoes or specifically the 8s before it pops?
I am wondering if i should by this shoe, because of this really good review. and i think i might, but i have a pair of hyperfuse that i used for a while and i really like them but now that my birthday is coming up i might buy these. so which shoe do you think is better? please and thanks
@GameSpirit23 - Well it sucked for me lol. For outdoor use they will hold up very well so thats why I mentioned them. A lot of shoes now are lightweight and this which ends up making them out to be a not so great choice for outdoor use...he KD3 however was a good all around sturdy shoe.
2019, here after lebron 17 review. Chris said it fits like a lebron 8
whos watching in 2017? nightwing with his powerpoint presentation 🙂
I watch this now because nike just getting worse in basketball shoes
@userman777 - Thanks man. I can honestly say that the V2 and V1s only defference will be the materials used. Comfort, fit, traction and so on will be the same. Flywire is only used in the heel area and forefoot as described in the vid, same goes for the V2. The upper material will be mesh and a light fabric like nubuck which will still provide the same level of fit and protection as the V1. Hope this helps out.
Come straight back here after watch your LeBron 17 review to find out about the fit. lol

@23jordankicks23 - I didnt like the fit of the 7s either. Very wide toe box. These were great though. Glad I could help.
@6goheat - Real leather is used on Nikes top tier models. This pair I have is suede or nubuck but the other V1s w leather are nice genuine leather.
@syck40 - Ive never liked Air Max as well. These new LeBrons have a little more air in the bag so its not so unbalanced when wearing them. Once you get used to it you dont even notice you are off the ground a good inch or so. These have really good court feel so its not an issue. The lebron 8s have the best traction from heel to toe, they just forgot the add traction to the outrigger which is pretty annoying to me personally. Hope that helps you out bro.
@amahovac - They retailed at $160 but you can find certain colorways of the V2 for less. I bought my regular size and they fit just fine.

@padard - They lockdown the foot pretty well so it wasnt a big deal for me personally. I loved the V1.
@6goheat - They are pretty much the same exact shoe. I prefer the way the V2 looks over the V1.
@Xxlambo95xX - not sure yet, I play in the kobe 6s tonight so stay tuned.
If only Nike still made shoes like this
*cough cough* LeBron 17s are really similar but more comfy
@@aquatic9995 that outsole will burn way quicker than the 8s
@GameSpirit23 - lol, thanks! glad I could help.
@Aerseus - I will be recording that tomorrow and hoping to have it edited and uploaded by tomorrow night.
@airjordanxiv - Thanks! Right out of the box they felt great, but that was bc the new insole was brand new and still very squishy. When playing in the shoe there was a noticable defference between the heel and forefoot cushion, heel being much more comfortable. The LJ8 PS should fix the issue with forefoot zm air so cant wait to try those out.
@airjordan23III - Yeah, they are the 'cool grey' 7s
@BebopNum9 - I prefer the kobes right now. We will see how that goes once the post seasons drop though as those look like theyll be fun to play in.
@GameSpirit23 - The KD3 is prob the best shoe avail right now for outdoors.
@newbiepcuser - They were expensive, but cheaper than the price I paid for the AJ2010s. They did perform well so its not all bad.
@IAmthespriteMan - It really depends. If you can try them on that would be best. Or at least get a pair with soft materials like suede or any of the V2s.
He's come a long way 2021
@232425shootingguards - Not much at all when compaired. Your cushion in the forefoot for the lebrons comes from the insole they provided. The LeBron 8 PS should be a great ride since it has both types of cushion.

@pinkxcute - I plan on reviewing the Kobe 6 so stay tuned.
@Storminmormin9 - Mine are still good, V1 not V2. The PS are not that great, makes the V1 look like a much better shoe.
@RondoTheMVP - I'll try, I just started playing in the Kobe VI.
Back here in 2021 😱😱😱
excellent review! very well done!
@LongLiveFitness - I cant remember, sometime Dec or Jan I think. I know the Xmas V2s are in Dec.
@SystemSyko - Never played in the 2's, my first LeBron was the Soldier 3 lol. The sole is flat on these as well but the double layer of traction is sweet!
Hi Chris! The video popped on my feed. I’ve been watching your videos since this video was released. 😁 more power to your channel!!
@deltaforce186 - Thanks Bro! The Zigtech Slash are comfy, but the traction on them bottoms are horrible! Im going to try and review those asap.
@nightwing2303

Easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever played in. Plus, I bought some different insoles which had a lot of cushioning adding to the already great feel. I'm also a big man so I don't really care if the shoes are light or not so LeBrons are perfect for me. The ankle support is also fantastic.

Watching this is 2018. Funny to see how far you have come nightwing
@nightwing2303 Great cant wait to see! Always love your performance reviews best on youtube, and cant wait to see this one with your new cam!
@BebopNum9 - Anytime bro!
@aznman240 - I guess they look a little bulky... hadnt really noticed before though. They dont make your feet look fat though.
@1MrBallisLife1 - Thanks!!!
Great thorough review as always man. Good stuff!
Great review again...so wut ur saying is that the heel has phylon built into the 360 air kinda like its double stacked or juss the midsole? Find anything new at nostrom rack lately? lol
@Lawz0rPoo - Well its deff not the lebron 8s lol. The kobe 5 I feel has had the best overall court feel. Just my personal opinion.
sick video buddie im still gonnna wait on themm for a bit keep the heat coming
@MrDRoss20 - I did a performance review a long time ago on the ZKIV, it wasnt the best review but I did make one. If I get more requests for a re-do then I can do that.
@SoleDeVida - Thanks DeVida!
nightwing2303 this is the best shoe performance review on the internet!!! no one else actually spends time playing in them and provides such detailed reviews!! keeep up the good work man!! :D
@stefan3vardar - Depends on the type of plyer you are. Out of the 3 I liked the LeBron 8 and Kobe 5 best.
@davay1 Really depends on your possition and style of play. For me personally I love the Kobe 6s.
Nice cop! Could you please tell me how these fit compared to the 9s? Should I go half a size down or even a full size smaller?
Good job as always man!
@gkeopha509 - Haha, same here. The shoe was lacking in some key areas. Mainly fit and heel cushion.
awesome review! I noticed in my wearing of the LBJ 8, they felt very uncomfortable and dead underfoot right out of the box. Did you experience that?
Nice review man. Big help! Is this shoe still available? Can you give me the website so I can buy online? Thanks! Keep on posting.
I am wondering if i should by this shoe, because of this really good review. and i think i might, but i have a pair of hyperfuse that i used for a while and i really like them but now that my birthday is coming up i might buy these. so which shoe do you think is better? please and thanks
@TheMiamiHeatFan361 - Im not a custom artist but Im sure you can.
@TheMiamiHeatFan361 - V2, didnt like the PS that much.
U should do a review on some foamposites... dats wat I'm ballin in now
@youngchrissee - Thanks man. I will be reviewing the Kobe 6s by weds/thurs. Need to play in them a few more times before Im set on their performance.
nice review...do one on the v2 when possible, thanks.
@iBrA1MAN - Thanks!
