Love your content! I'm a norwegian, from Bergen the second biggest city in Norway. You should seriously consider too go watch a Brann game! It's the most passionate supporters in Norway. Most opposition players admit it's a special atmosphere in the norwegian top flight and they love playing there even as the away team. David Moyes even said when Brann played Everton in the EL back in 2008, that it was the best support he'd experienced outside of England. So just do it! 😉

@@stuntpeggnieveDear Nieve aka StuntPegg. Commiserations to your other half Italia, going out of the Rugby World Cup. I just recently started watching Norwegian football on One Football. Im fascinated by the idea of Tromosø, a top flight European team that is so incredibly remote. Bodø/Glimt is remote enough, but Tromsø really takes the prize, at least in Europe. Tromsø is the third biggest city inside the Arctic circle. It has a decent mix of moder and traditional architecture. I was surprised that Bodo is smaller than Tromsø, which despite being on a small island has a population of nearly 80,000. I always try to look out for Tromsø matches, and have enjoyed watching them on One Football. The only thing appears to be that there’s no commentary, but once I got used to it, it was ok. I recently found that the greatest distance between teams and where they’re based while competing in the same top flight division is Perth Glory and Wellington Phoenix in the Australian A league which seem to be somewhere around 3000 miles apart. Great video, really enjoyed watching, despite the big focus being on Bodø/Glimt. I’m glad Tromsø won though.
Quick note: The population on Tromsøya might be around half of 80,000. The population of the island + mainland (Tromsdalen) and Kvaløysletta on Kvaløya is around 70-80,000 depending on the season. Kæm e gutan våres? Kæm e kvit og rød? Trooooooomsøøøø

Another incredible video! Crazy thing about Bodø-Glimt and Tromsø, they are currently number 1 and 3 in the league, whilst hailing from small cities in the far north of Norway. Can recommend watching Molde vs Rosenborg as another game. Or Brann vs Viking. Keep it up❤
A Blaze In The Northern Sky is the album title of Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone and was a direct reference to the church burnings in Norway in the early 90's, or so I'm led to believe. Fun little tid bit.
It's great you went up to my region. I am a Tromsø fan and Bodø going so well made us lift our standards. Yes, I like defeating Bodø, but even better defeating southern sides haha. Greatest game in Tromsø history was when we beat Chelsea 3-2 in a snow storm and Chelski were acting like babies after that, sure we got smashed in the return leg but that was fun.
I support Lyn, a historic club in Oslo currently making our way back to the top division after bankruptcy and relegation to the 7th tier in 2010. In our 127 years of existence, we've had a lot of ups and downs, but the supporters are still going strong. From founding the Norwegian Football Association, building the national stadium and nearly beating Barcelona in the quarter finals of the Cup Winner's Cup, we're now fighting for promotion from the 3rd tier. Two years ago the club decided to follow the German 50+1 rule, so now we, the supporters, own the club. Earlier this year we met our cross-town rivals, Vålerenga, in the Cup for "The Battle of Oslo". Prior to our relegation from the top flight in 2009, and the following bankruptcy, we hadn't lost the derby since 1981. This time around it was a tight game between the red and white promotion-chasing 3rd tier Lyn and the relegation-battling blues from Oslo East. We ended up losing 2-1, but the real match was the one on the stands. Next year we might meet in the 2nd tier, 15 years after we got relegated to the same division. These past few years the rivalry has sparked up again with sticker wars, a new young spirit in Bastionen (Lyn's supporter group) and banter on social media. Supporter-player-connection-wise I don't think many can beat us. After our promotion from the 4th tier last year, I ended up clubbing with the players and going to an afterparty with some supporter favorites and coaches. This is one of Norway's biggest clubs, with one of the richest histories, climbing our way back to the top, all thanks to the relentless support of Bastionen and the whole Lyn family. We would love to have you join us on our march back to the top, and if all goes to plan, maybe you can come and experience "the only proper Norwegian derby" as soon as next year :)

As always, great coverage about games that generally don’t get talked about enough! The build-up to this match was absolutely brilliant and intense! If i’m not mistaken, this was the first time Bodø/Glimt has not scored at home in a league game in over 2 years. So as a Tromsø supporter who attended the game, the timing could not be better! You should travel furter north and come to our next home game at Alfheim/Romsaa which actually is against Lillestrøm, whom you have already seen.
Went to see Tromsø IL against Rosenberg last summer and it finished 4-3 in one of the most fun games I've ever been to. Great atmosphere, and also loved how it was August and you still needed gloves and hats to keep warm

I visited Bodo in February during a match between my team Lech Poznań vs Bodo/Glimt. Norwegian football has its own atmosphere. I dream that Lech will play again somewhere in Norway and that I can go to the match. Greetings from Poznań🔵⚪
Thank you for visiting our beautiful city and making content about our club. You should definitely come back an cover a European night some time in the future.
I worked for a week up in Bodø, and I can tell they're by far the most patriotic towards their football team. There were flags outside of like every other house and when matchday is on, nobody's home. I can also say what he said by northerners being more warm is super true!
As an English guy living in Norway, I really loved this video. Come back and do some more Norwegian football videos. When we lived in Bergen my boys and I would go and watch the local 2nd tier Åsane play. We now live in Southern Norway so would be great to see matches with Jerv or Start
I visited earlier this year for other reasons than football. I was so blown back by how strong the city felt about their football team that I went straight home and bought a shirt for my collection. Without having watched a single game. The flags everywhere were also really impressive.
Thanks for cheering me up Nieve, great video! I loved living in Norway 🇳🇴 and the Brunost, which goes best with black coffee & waffle I found 😉 Try and get to an International and have a look around Oslo next time you’re there.
I must say that I started this video with the expectation of not finishing it at all, but I ended up watching the whole thing, very well done! (Worst part is that I am not that into football, but just the whole feeling this video is projecting is so nice!
How cool that you came to visit us in Norway(I'm from the south-eastern part but Bodø/Glimt and Tromsø deserve all the coverage they can get!) 😁 Btw, you should definitely check out a Brann-fixture(Bergen) as that place is really crazy when it comes to Norwegian football haha
Norway seems stunning! defo a place I want to go to. Would have to be in the summer though I can't handle the cold! Great content keep up the amazing work!
Summer in norway is over.. All the ice melting in the north, like greenland and north pole, is flowing down and intercepting the gulf stream, which gave us the hot weather, that's about over, we get most air from the north now and this year we can barely call it a summer at all, many many days under 20 degrees in mid july.. :/
You must come to Molde for the 2nd leg of Molde vs. Klaksvik from the Faroe Islands in the Champions League 3rd Qualifying round on Aug 15. Klaksvik has stunned Ferencvaros of Hungary & Hacken of Sweden to get this far. Their coach, in his 1st job as head coach is former Molde legend Magne Hoseth who played for Molde when we were in the CL in the 1999/2000 season. His assistant is Daniel Berg Hestad, another Molde legend, the player with most matches for Molde ever. Vegard Forren, who scored the decisive penalty against Hacken also has many years as a Molde player behind him, but was sacked by the club in 2020. Last season he played at level 3 here in Norway. Another former Molde player is also in the Klaksvik squad. It's a definite sell-out, and you will love the stadium as it's situated by the sea. Norways finest stadium. Or maybe you should go to the 1st match in The Faroe Islands, have you ever been there?
@@erikhoel6081 Well, this is the closest you can come to a rivalry in a CL qualifying tie. The two men in charge of Klaksvik are Molde legends, so are Vegard Forren who scored the decisive penalty against Hacken. He was sacked by Molde in 2020, and got his sweeit revenge in scoring that penalty. But I agree, from a commercial perspective StuntPegg should go to the 1st leg in the Faroe Islands. Me, as a guy born and bred in Molde but not living there now, I will do my utmost to get a ticket for what I'm sure will be a memorable evening!
You get to go to the coolest places (and I dont mean weather-wise). Cheers for the tip re:One Football, do like to keep my eye on the Norwegian League, have a soft spot for Stabaek, sadly not doing so well these days. Keep up the great work, love those hints of Northern humour in your vids
what an amazing video, i went to Norway with Scotland when we beat them 2-1 lol and the country is absolutely beautiful and the people are sooo nice and lovely as well they made every single one of us feel welcome and even though they lost after the game we all drank together and had a party it was honestly amazing and i cant wait to go back there only bad thing about Norway is its expensive lol
The thing I love about any foreign game is that wherever you go in the world, you'll probably find a chant from the fans you know the tune to from one of your own clubs chants 😂
@StuntPegg Brann V Vålerenga, or Brann V teams from east norway have the best atmosphere. Brann stadium is the team with the best atmosphere in norway!
My brother lives in Trondheim and they've got great fans. I'm going to try and get tickets for Rosenborg vs Molde later in the year. Should be a great game
Come to Fredrikstad. Just 1 hour south of Oslo with train. We also have a local derby against Sarpsborg. The towns are only 17 kilometers apart and we hate each other when it comes to football. If Fredrikstad gets promoted from the 2. division this season, we will face each other next year. Fredrikstad is a very historic club when it comes to titles in league and cup
Great video once again! Very nice to see your take on norwegian football and I think you really captured the essence of it. I love all football but it’s something special about norwegian football and the short distance between club and supporters.
Another superb vlog Nieve especially in a part of europe that doesnt get much exposure in the UK. You are totally unrivalled in producing quality football vlogs, covering non league to top level football either at home or abroad. Keep that s**t going kiddo.
Nieve: Going to Tromsø any time soon? One tip for you regarding Norwegian football. Experience the 16th of May games and Norway's National Day the following day. Tromsø's home game against Bodø was on 16th of May this year. Thank you for the video.😊
You'll have to be on the lookout for when Vålerenga plays Lyn in the cup (doesn't happen that often now unfortunately, since Lyn been relegated long time ago) - it's the Oslo derby and it's fire every time!
I have been a guard on a few Bodø glimt matches and i always thought to myself "what if Stuntpegg is here" or "StuntPegg shouldve been here" and there she is!
Tromsø and Bodø/Glimt are not the only two clubs in the north, but they are the only two clubs in the top flight. Every town in Norway got at least one football club.
Also in Norway, you should go to see Sogndal, a team now in the second division from a picturesque little town of roughly 10 000 people in the Norwegian fjords. The team is kind of the Norwegian version of Eibar, punching above their weight and producing a steady number of great players through the years, like Tore Andre Flo, Eirik Bakke, Håvard Flo, Akor Jerome Adams (who just signed for Montpellier and featured in the team of the week) and a total of 7 players from the Flo family through the years. The club is the pride of the region, from an often neglected part of the country and there is a curious link between the club, the Western University of Norway and ambitious local businessmen.
Oh, and they also have the best football song in the country and a new version was made last year by the guys who made What Does the Fox Say? The town also have several great artists including national treasure Olav Stedje.
Enjoyed watching this! I've been to Tromso a few times to see and photograph the Northern Lights, usually in early March, which means I can fit a preseason friendly in if they are playing home. I saw them play a preseason friendly against Bodo the last time I visited in March 2018...it was superb as there was 3ft of snow around the ground!! Try and visit Tromso, especially when the season kicks off in March...the team is doing well now...and the snowy scenery and Northern lights are something else!!!
Its so cool that you cover Norwegian football. I hope you come to Lillestrøm for the derby in october. You may have heard but LSKs manager was bought by Vålerenga, the most controversial transfer in Norwegian footballs history. The derby gonna be AGGRESIVE. Hope to see you there!
Beautiful country & people. I really like Bodo Glimpt even though they hammered us( Celtic 🍀💚) last year 😂 I also have a soft spot for Rosenburg because we kept being drawn against each other & Rosenburg scored a last minute goal which helped Celtic progress in Europa league lol Thanks for sharing Niamh ( that's the spelling in Scotland & Ireland so not sure if you spell it the same way? Apologies if i misspelled it 💚
I am glad you took my advice on traveling to this fixture (my comment on the first match in Norway) 😆 And if your interested I could give you the websites on all the places in the UK that sells Brunost (Brown cheese) for another possible fixture maybe go to the Norwegian cup final being held in December. Norwegian weather in December could make that match very interesting. Or if Bodo/Glimt make it to the group stages in the Europa Conference league and a potential home game December 14th could be interesting even if only for the comic value. Blizzard conditions can not be ruled out.
That was a really cool video. I'd like to visit Northern Norway and see those teams play one day. As for your next Norwegian video, I'd love to see you do an SK Brann home match.
Wow Thank you for this. ❤ I was born in Bodø but grew up in Tromsø. Was awesome to see Your cowering of this match. And i appreciate that you enjoyed our beauty up in the north. By the way Tromsø as a town is even prettier than Bodø. You should go there ❤️
Go to Trondheim and watch Rosenborg. Definitely the biggest club in Norway. A LOT of history, and has the biggest stadium in Norway. My team. I would recommend.
Damn, clicked on the video to see a foiregners perspective on Northern-Norwegian football culture, but did not expect to see three of my classmates in it
If you ever come to norway again, you should try the west coast derby, viking against brann. Always a great atmosphere with a massive away support. This season my team viking have won both games!
The next biggest rivalry in Norway is probably Rosenborg-Molde, but I'd also recommend Fredrikstad-Sarpsborg 08 (might be a league fixture next season!) and Brann-Viking. And, of course, I'd always recommend a Stabæk match!💙
One of the biggest rivalry in Norway, if not the biggest, is Rosenborg - Molde. Rosenborg has always been the big brother of Molde, however in recent years Molde has preformed as well if not better! Also the supporters of Rosenborg, Kjernen, is probably the best supporter organization in Scandinavia. They usually have a big tifo for all the important games! I would highly encourage you to attend the match in Trondheim 5. November!
@@thiagoprofili4806 Yes, Lillestrøm vs Vålerenga is also as big. The two clubs are a lot closer geographically than Molde and Rosenborg. Also, both of their supporters are really loud and active on matchday!
It's ok to be subjektive, but come on... Saying things like Kjernen is the best supporter group in Scandinavia just make you look silly. Also don't even think for a second that Rosenborg - Molde is in any way close to the rivalry of Lillestrøm - Vålerenga. How can it be, when Molde haven't even got more than 100 singing supporters?
Are you considering a return for the 2nd match between Lillestrøm and Vålerenga? Been quite the absurd situation around the two clubs this summer with Vålerenga snatching Lillestrøms coach mid season.
In December Viking from Stavanger will meet Rosenborg in the final game this season. Rosenborg has been the most hated team in Stavanger the last 20-30 years, because they have won the league a lot and they have bought some players before from Viking. Now they currently have a player which is the son of a former Viking player with more than 400 matches for Viking. It could also be an exciting finish as Viking could win a medal. In Norway the top 3 teams get a gold, silver and bronze medal. I would recommend this one for you. And if you want to go to Stavanger, please let me know if you need any help ⚽
This is the best match you could have possibly gone to. Every year before our national day 17th of May its the big national football day. This day some big rival teams are allowed to play against each other, and Tromsø and Bodø always play each other on the 16th of May (if they are both in the same league ofc)... and every year they change who plays on the home field. This year it was in Bodø so next year it will be in Tromsø. Its the biggest footbal fest in Norway and if you have a chance to enjoy it do come, its already midnight sun at this time as well. Best thing is also the celebration of the national day on the day after. Everybody dressed up fancy in national costumes and you will never see Norwegian people in any better mood..everyone is cheerful and jolly🥳
The Tromsø supporters truly are one of, if not the, best fans in Norwegian football. Two tifos, both of whom were bigger than anything the homefans had, managed to sneak in fireworks, throwing snakes, and last but not least, 400 supporters drowned out the entire home crowd at times. Hats off!
Thank you so much Nieve for the videoes you contribute to us. I love them! Please come back for this seasons second meeting of Lillestrøm VS Vålerengen. Join the hometeams fans to their locol pub, and watch the 100+? flags for the hometeam singing towards the stadium at Åråsen - Lillestrøm.
And we have to add another twist to this. Lillestrøm's trainer/manager at that time - Geir Bakke - resigned as coach a couple of weeks ago, and became trainer/manager for Vålerenga the same day! The biggest rivalry in Norway has now another edge to it. The game finds place in Lillestrøm at october the 22. Welcome to mayhem ;)
You shud travel to one of the derbys in Norway on 16 of may . The day before the Norwegians National day 17 may. The match fixture are packed with derbys 16 of may, normally home and away match for the teams each year, you are welcome to Tromsø if we meet home

Tromso is one of my favourite places on earth - the winter up there is AWESOME - the football ground is very small though.
We now live in Southern Norway so would be great to see matches with Jerv or Start
as a norwegain, i gotta say i love these videos from our tiny league
I visited earlier this year for other reasons than football. I was so blown back by how strong the city felt about their football team that I went straight home and bought a shirt for my collection. Without having watched a single game. The flags everywhere were also really impressive.
Norway have incredible Football fans!
Another great video Nieve! Really love your channel!
Thanks for cheering me up Nieve, great video! I loved living in Norway 🇳🇴 and the Brunost, which goes best with black coffee & waffle I found 😉 Try and get to an International and have a look around Oslo next time you’re there.
Another great video, Nieve! I think you are getting better and better at this. The brunost and the TIL-victory made this 10 out of 10!✌
I must say that I started this video with the expectation of not finishing it at all, but I ended up watching the whole thing, very well done! (Worst part is that I am not that into football, but just the whole feeling this video is projecting is so nice!
Great video as always! Love that how you keep that SUPERB consistency for your own content!
lol @0:26 I didn't expect the Darkthrone reference in football despite being Norwegian.
How cool that you came to visit us in Norway(I'm from the south-eastern part but Bodø/Glimt and Tromsø deserve all the coverage they can get!) 😁
Btw, you should definitely check out a Brann-fixture(Bergen) as that place is really crazy when it comes to Norwegian football haha
YES GO TO KLAKSVIK PLEAEEE
Thats not a rivalery and is certintly not one to watch! Who goes to Molde???
Sunshine in Northern Norway; hail, storm and rain in Northern Lombardy sigh!
Love these videos Nieve, they are so unique and insightful.
" It would just get stolen, but, you could do it"....... 🤣
Great video! Never been to Norway before but the football looks great!
The thing I love about any foreign game is that wherever you go in the world, you'll probably find a chant from the fans you know the tune to from one of your own clubs chants 😂
I want to thank RUclips for guiding me to this channel. This is one of the most amazing channels I’ve ever seen! Keep it up.
Loving the fact that the chants are all to the same tunes we have in Scotland, it's just obviously they're singing in Norwegian
Football is so important, anywhere. Respect from Italy.
@StuntPegg
Brann V Vålerenga, or Brann V teams from east norway have the best atmosphere.
My favorite football youtube channel no question.
Wow, thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video, as did my g/f who lived in Norway for 30 years (inc a spell in Bodo!) Greetings from Newcastle. :)
The town also have several great artists including national treasure Olav Stedje.
come back may 16th. the atmosfere will be fantasticly hostile
Keep up the great content! You are showing us clubs we never will get to see live. Football is the game that brings us all together ✌🏼
As a dane, I am extremely upset about the fact that northern Norway has a nice summer and im still waiting here to see the sun..
Haha! We have our first sunny day of summer in Manchester tomorrow, I’m very excited
Never thought that I would love to watch a football vlog until I found this channel. Interesting and never disappoints me with some English banters
Funny that this are a local derby while in distanse it’s like a team in London vs a team in Aberdeen
Absolutely love these trips away! You teach us so much about foreign leagues but also the countries. Fascinating stuff!
I was just in Tromsø and I have to say it was one of the most beautiful cities I've been to. Sparkling.
Would be perfect, had it not been for her covering the derby in may.
@@martinottesen1053 I know, but the derby in october gonna be the greatest derby in history. Besides, Åråsen is more intimate. And we got real grass.
@@Fredrikstbye true, you still got grass. That's always a plus. We still have grass ourself (Brann)
Thank you for such a brilliant video. I live in Tromsø so I was hoping you’d make it up - perhaps form a rematch between rivals!
Absolutely! Thank you very much!
Apologies if i misspelled it 💚
Loving a insight into Norwegian football, it looks like a great atmosphere
Your passion for footy really shines through, Nieve! And it's very lovely. Always enjoy watching your videos! :)
As someone who lives in Bodo in Norway Bodø glimt is the best
Always a great battle with Bodø, Eya TIL!
You should go to a SK Brann game next!
Brann and Bergen is next level, awesome supporters and the most beautiful city in Norway. Regards, an Rosenborg supporter 😅
Norway is a great country and their coffee is the best. Really enjoyed the video.
This isn't really a derby though as only Viking really cares about it
@@HenrikCOYG cry more bergen kid
@@Chick3nluvver Why are you so pressed? It's literally a fact that only people from Stavanger actually cares about it
@@HenrikCOYG you care enough to comment twice :) got a third one too?
@@Chick3nluvver Legg deg du er maks 12 år
The next biggest rivalry in Norway is probably Rosenborg-Molde, but I'd also recommend Fredrikstad-Sarpsborg 08 (might be a league fixture next season!) and Brann-Viking. And, of course, I'd always recommend a Stabæk match!💙
Hvem er størst ?
@@ArildmedDEnga-LSK, men den har hun allerede sett.
November!
is lillestrom vs Vålerenga as big as this fixture?
@@thiagoprofili4806Lillestrøm vs Vålerenga is by far the biggest rivalry in Norway
Thanks for enjoying our town! You're welcome back anytime, a lots going to happen next year during European capital of culture if you wanna come back
When she asked the Tromsø player where he was from, I think she was expecting another answer than Oslo...
25 seconds in and I already see a Darkthrone reference from the Bodø/Glimt supporters.
Dis gon be guuud.
I'm so glad someone else got such a niche reference
Honestly, love every video Pegg puts out. Tremendous
Norway looks amazing. Great vlog.
Amazing views, what a gorgeous country.
Stunt Pegg dropping heat again and again baby let’s go. Great vid!
I love these trips to Norway. I'm glad that it's you doing it, though, Nieve. I couldn't live with how expensive the food is.❤❤❤
That looks like a bucket list trip, awesome video
The Tromsø supporters truly are one of, if not the, best fans in Norwegian football. Two tifos, both of whom were bigger than anything the homefans had, managed to sneak in fireworks, throwing snakes, and last but not least, 400 supporters drowned out the entire home crowd at times. Hats off!
Not even top 5😂
Nahhh. Tromsø is great, but it can’t be compared to Lillestrøm, Rosenborg, Viking etc
Vålerenga and Rosenborg are on a completely different level when it comes to supporters
Love the video keep, the amazing work and effort you put in your videos
Aalesund-Molde and Rosenborg-Molde is a derby to watch. Or even Molde - Bodø-Glimt as the two biggest teams recent years
Not biggest, best
You shud travel to one of the derbys in Norway on 16 of may . The day before the Norwegians National day 17 may. The match fixture are packed with derbys 16 of may, normally home and away match for the teams each year, you are welcome to Tromsø if we meet home
