The Shootout Scout Maybe the beginning fits a little better? 2-D's day basically gets ruined simply by Russell tripping him on purpose. Kind of how a movie starts really happy but gets a little gloomy as soon as the movie actually starts.

There are a lot of other niche references like "Choose Pazuzu" and 2-D's white eyes possibly representing him being dead or possessed or having intense emotion. Either way it seems like there's more to the story.
Respect for the animators and everyone involved in making this. There's not enough 2D animation nowadays, so I adore seeing it done so beautifully here.
