Curious fact that nobody realized: THIS that looks like a new car is nothing less than a Peugeot 2008, it even shares the mirrors and doorknobs. In fact, its engine is the famous 1.2 PureTech with the wet oil timing belt. Awesome. I encourage you to check it out for yourself!
When I saw the key I already suspected it, then I saw and heard the door handles (PSA has always had solid sounding doors if you know what I mean). The interior shares some buttons but also got a unique styling to it. But when I heard that Puretech engine it was no longer interesting for me. After 11 years, PSA still didn't (want to) find a way to make this engine series reliable.. so many problems I know what I'm talking about..
The Peugeot is built on the CMP platform, the Avenger is built on the CMP II. So a never version. The 54 kWh battery and 156 hP engine was first introduced in the Avenger. The e-2008 gets it later this year. The Avenger is a smaller car than the 2008 and has it’s own infotainment system.
Before buying this fantastic car, I was a little bit sceptic about the gasoline powertrain (1.2 GSE T3), once you jump in and drive it, you will appreciate immediately how agile and well balanced this b-suv runs. Its natural habitat is the city, where it tackles rough roads without difficulty, unfortunately the front-wheel drive alone does not make it a true off-road jeep, however I think it is perfect for moving quickly in the city traffic.
Change your timing belt every two years or so and it should help. Same story as with 1.0 Ecoboost engines - good engine with a critical engineering flaw. The timing belt operates submerged in engine oil. Over the time it sheds small particles, which clog the oil intake, leading to a major engine failure. Since you know that, you can change your timing belt more often, and it should help. Stil, I wouldn't risk keeping it too long after the warranty period ends.
Have you seen the amount of this car's advertisments from Jeep, showing the car in the country? Plenty. It's very clear that is a urban car, but the branding, aesthetics pushes the focus into off-road. Typical SUVs incouncious goal.
@@saggioperduto_7566 is it really though? the 20cm ground clearance alone makes it a perfect city car since you dont have to worry about the kerbs at all.
@@FanatecSystem So you can run over pedestrians on the side walks? And the same ground clearance makes your vehicle full of blind spots. Which in a city isn't so Great. There Is a super interesting video which talks about It, from the YT Channel Not Just Bikes.
I sat in one today. To be honest, I'm thinking of getting one. Can't decide between an Avenger, Renegade or Compass because what I really want is a Wrangler
I was driving that piece of shit on my last holidays on tenerife island, the highways are very specific there with lots of smaller and bigger elevations. The car was a citroen c3, it was impossible at some points to have AC and a 3rd gear at the same time.....
Funfact: if you don't really care about eco-friendly aspects as well as the age of your vehicle. You can buy any used cherokee or grand cherokee with a V6 / V8 for half the price of the avenger, while V8 naturally needs more juice, a simple V6 will achieve a very simillar fuel consumption to this car.
@@TheSultan1470 yes, it will, and most importantly it does it even now... you can get somewhere around 10L / 100km and still have 300 horsepower, it's just that the eco-propaganda is super exstensive in europe and we have a very high price for insurance when it comes to a bigger engines, so naturally someone who is not a petrol head will simply not care and buy some typical european stuff.
it would be too expensive even if it was 10k cheaper. I mean, for 37k Mazda can give you a 186 hp automatic CX-30 with matrix headlights, level 2 adas and a way better quality
I have some douts about the engine. Apparently it is very problematic. Thousands of customers have had a lot of claims regading the performsve of the wet timing belt. Maybe this problem has already disappeared? If not this car is not for me.
Well... it is the same problematic engine, although Stellantis says they did some changes and problem is solved. The mild-hybrid version uses the same engine but with timing chain, it is supposed to be more reliable. But just time will say it.
It’s part of the Stellantis group meaning this car is basically Peugeot 2008 or Opel Mokka. I’d rather buy the Peugeot 2008 for better quality materials and looks tbh.
To fajny samochód... Ale czy on ma manualną skrzynię biegów? To wspaniale!

you should get the avenger, renegade is kinda outdated. i will deffinitely get avenger one day too!
Avenger is fun
Świetny test😎👍
Mad driving
Mines petrol,,drives well. Its black, looks nice,
Mines petrol in Lake colour
40k for a small SUV with 100hp ? I mean, it looks kinda good for this segment, but it's just not worth the price.
here in croatia its around 24K, but the electric version is 40k.
they should do atleast 25k
27 k in austria 🇦🇹 ❤
En Andorra 20k gasolina y 29k electrico
The navigation menu, engine, some buttons, mirrors... Many things are from PSA.
18:05 i know what you did there 😏

Can’t wait to see it in Ireland!
Woah very yellow!
Ok from Transilvania România Transilvania ❤🇷🇴🙏👍👍👍
Nawet nie wiedziałem że jest taki model. Dzięki Joe za ten test.
Wow super car ❤
The manual gearbox in such a car is like a wrong note in a symphony orchestra. Meanwhile the gear shifter is flickering like a fiat 128 from the 70s!!
This HAS to share the same platform as the new gen 500e. The layout looka identical
Bielsko-Biała Poland ❤
Seems very neat
Gear changing and engine noise gave the fact that this isn’t the Car of the year Jeep Avenger EV.
guys i don't know what to chose between toyota yaris cross and jeep avenger any ideas ? thnak you

Yeah 208 electric,will be interesting.

3 cylinderki i 10l spalania. Bez komentarza...
Tymczasem 6 cylindrow w ukladzie V z nieco starszego jeepa, 11L / 100km
Interior looks a lot like Peugeot than before
Fiat 500e
That's because it is based on the 2008 platform, everything from the engine to the indicator sound. The only difference is it wears Jeep clothing
Tytuł kupiony pewnie
Is there any automatic version ? I dont like that manuel gear... and please put wingbars on top
Muito legal mesmo show 👏

Its essentially a Peugeot 2008 or Vauxhall Mokka.
Que análisis más triste!! xd.
Looks like fiat plastic quality on the inside.
That’s because Jeep is partners with Fiat
Not automatic!!!!!!?
Car of the year? It's a 100 HP jeep compass. More like nominee for worst car of the year
Yea I don't get it either not bad but not great 😅
Much smaller than compass.
And think that is the same engine of the Opel Corsa and Peugeot 208
More like boring car of the year tbh
@@M.V.2000 They have the same engine as in those cars. Basically this is a 2008 that wears a Jeep body and logo
