Lahore is undergoing significant renovations to prepare for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allocated approximately Rs7.7 billion for these upgrades, focusing on enhancing spectator experience and meeting international standards
The stadium's seating capacity is set to increase from 21,500 to over 34,000+. This expansion includes moving spectator enclosures 20 feet closer to the playing field.
A new pavilion is being constructed to provide five-star facilities for players, match officials, commercial partners, and dignitaries, aligning with the highest standards required for international events.
The renovation includes the installation of advanced high-resolution replay screens size 80X30 feet and 22X37 Feet, state-of-the-art LED floodlights to enhance the quality of live broadcasts and the viewing experience for fans.
The existing floodlight towers and seating structures are being repurposed and upgraded to improve safety and functionality. Additionally, the drainage system is being modernized to ensure optimal pitch conditions. A huge water tank is also being built outside the stadium, in which all rainwater will be collected.
The renovation work commenced in late August 2024, with the demolition of existing structures and the construction of new facilities. The PCB aims to complete the project by December 31, 2024, ensuring the stadium is ready to host the ICC Champions Trophy in early 2025.

A 466-meter trench has been constructed, which is 10 feet deep and eight feet wide.
An eight-story office building is being constructed, four floors of which will be completed before the Champions Trophy and four floors will be completed afterwards.
And a pavilion building is being built on the ground side in front of the office building, which is made of a steel structure.

Stadium ka design BDP pattern ne PCB ke budget aur Pakistan ki security conditions ke paish e nazar banaya hai… BDP pattern stands ka design aisy hi banati hai… unho ne Lords cricket ground aur baki stadiums bhi design kiye howe hain…
Iss mein purana design kahan se aa gaya… Stadiums dunya ka jadeed se jadeed tar ho sub design Greeks architecture ka hi follow karty hain… even MCG ke stands bhi Roman stadiums ke design ko copy kr ke hi banaya gaya hai… kion ke roam ne dunya mein sub se pehlay stadiums banaye thy.
