Mangalore is very clean and green throughout the year. It's wonderful. Summer's can be hot. AC is a must nowadays.

Anwari, you should have taken Mishu to anganwadi everyday. She would have learnt kannada. I am telling from my experience, my 3 year old daughter used to accompany my mother in law (govt school teacher) to her school for a month. Within no time, she learnt kannada. We are in UAE, we speak konkani at home, she is 9 yrs nw, still remembers kannada.
Mashaallah very lucky main toh 15 year se bohot miss karrahi hun village life ko main bhi udupi se hun pehle hum Bangalore shift hogaye aur shadi k baad ab Dubai me Hun alhamdulillah gaon ki barish wahan ka kuwan 😢

In Goa we called that patoli which you making by using haldi ka patta. Its a special dish in nagpanchami n ganesh chaturti festival. All your mother in law make dish is same to same which we make in Goa.
I am from the same place , same taluq but now settled outside. Felt nostalgic. For the indiyappam or Shayvige , as a veg option we can have it with coconut milk sweetened with Jaggery 😊

Hum ise kele ke patteme bhi karate hai aur haldi kepatte chaw me sukhakar rakhate hai usake tukade karake boil karte hi tabhi kele ke patte ke uparse dalte hai . Usaki khushabu thodi to aati hai magar haldi patteme karate hai usaka swad bahotahi ahcha aata hai. Ab monsoon ke time mehi ye patte market me milate hai to kuch to jugad karna padtahi hai.
