@Nowhere Bound Touring about 40 + degrees, we have driven from big red to birdsville, marree , Oodnadatta, back to alice springs, with no gas in the trucks aircon,and the rear bottom shock mount has just snapped off, just the normal 😅😂😉🫠
A lot of people don't realise that Wivanhoe damn has its own power source with hydro there are certain places on Wivanhoe Dam that you can not go for a swim or boats as when the hydro system is on full power you can actually notice a water current
Nice video of our valley, where you pulled over to let people pass is the high tide location of the SUMP once it goes in. It will not be connected to Eungella dam cause it won't be good for consumption (Eungella dam feeds townships out west). They will be putting 2 extra dams at mount Dalrymple which is in national parks. There will be no to very little life in these dams cause the same water will be going through turbines 2x a day( chum), which is the reason why we locals call it sumps not dams. These Sumps are completely out of bounds to all people and will have big fences to keep people out(I'm positively sure Mackay locals think it will be accessible to boaters, fishermen etc, and have not signed the petition to stop it). My parents live on the creek where the bottom sump will be and there is platypus in the creek which will completely wipe out the platypus in that area( I was under the impression that platypus was legally completely safe from development or human activity) There will be no water flow out of the sump untill extreme weather events happen. The wind turbines to power the water turbines will apparently surround Eungella dam and large solar panels for the other half of our nice valley. My parents property one at bottom sump and one at top sump will be going under and they are too old for a big move but will possibly be forced to. It sucks cause I'm a good example of a power saver at home with no ac in my house but my parents/I are going to lose there/my retirement/ inheritance property so many many others can abuse their electricity( the power is not for Mackay directly more for the southeast coast and secretly to keep digging the coal how ironic ). I feel mostly for the beautiful country/wildlife up here.
@@nowhereboundtouring On the quiet we love the rain in a Van 1 ya not home , 2 rain on a hot tin roof is lovely, 3 Everyone else pisses off Home. YaY and that’s God Damn Good 😌 good 😌
Camped at Eungella heaps of times but that’s the highest I’ve seen it.
Dam the dam, Say No.
Hi Debbie,

Yep, you would not want to go anywhere near the wall. Bad things could happen 👍

Hey Jimmy,
That all does not sound good. We will see what happens, hopefully nothing.
Cheers
@@nowhereboundtouring thanks mate, I hope it doesn't go ahead but the general population will need it very soon with electricity abuse.
@jumpingjimmy1072
👍
Can understand why they want to put the pumped hydro there with that rainfall and dropoff into the valley.
It is the difference in height that makes it suitable. I assume it would also be easy to dam the valley.
Cheers, karl
Do you reckon you guys will come up to the Kimberley‘s for a wet season?
Yes, but not the next one, about two years time. But who knows as plans change.
