  • We're back on the UP Express, and this time finally rounding out the whole line by making a Station Focus video on the last station: Pearson! This station serves both the UP Express as well as the Terminal Link service, and looks just as nice as its Union sibling! Enjoy the video.

Love that you guys took a closer look at the interior architecture of this station, paying closer attention to the finishes and material of the station itself.

    Great video as always!
I'm surprised the UPX never went with the fare gate model of fare collection, at least at Union and Pearson. It would definitely reduce the need for conductors on the trains.

Oh no I definitely agree, though I believe the law requires them anyway as is? But as you mention the stations seem perfect for it!

@@RMTransit The law does? That's news to me. I guess it does make sense since the line is a heavy rail line though.

Yeah that's my belief, so it's always a question of what role the guard can play

RMTransit they definitely have a safety and customer service role, but it’s such a small train. Perhaps reducing the number of operators so that train frequencies can eventually increase?

Yeah perhaps, that might be a reg too?

All the UP stations are such a gem to explore, they're all really nice. I love these kinds of concise and informative videos, you guys definitely deserve a lot more attention for this kind of stuff

I think a Station Focus For Another Video Should Be Between Bloor Yonge & And Guildwood GO I just have that feeling

Do you think more cities should have a regional transit hub at the airport?

Yes! When appropriate, maybe I'll make an opinion video on this!

I mean i feel like having a regional hub at the airport of any city is amazing. This makes international travel not only a lot more better and convenient but for local commuters it just makes life a whole lot better

Go to Europe and find me a single significant airport that doesn't have major transit involved. Somehow Toronto missed this.

Great video, folks! I especially like the interior design and the glass features. They surely let in much natural light.
Do other airports provide service similar to UPX? If so, it would be nice for you to present videos like this one in the not-too-distant future. (-:

You can access via the parkade, everything is basically open 24/7

Horrible service. That two-car "train" is the city's direct train link to one of the most expensive airports on the planet. No bicycles allowed. I tell ya, the labyrinth of committees have so much lacking in their design, that we've achieved nothing but spending records in Ontario.

@@JB0i Well, not really. VIA Rail doesn't have baggage cars, so no bicycles. Can't get to the airport with a bicycle. Some of us tour on bicycles. I expect my government to provide trains that can take bicycles, because it's all over the city. It's horrible planning.
