The singer of Death of Lovers is also the singer in Nothing and the drummer is also in nothing. The qt playing synth is the singer's girlfriend. The bass player is in Whirr and Nothing and he also was part of the original Deafheaven line up. Night Sins has Nothing's drummer in it, that's it I think. Don't know anything about Mother of Mercy. Google "It’s all about WHIRR and NOTHING" that should help you out

The video is clearly an homage to videos from the 80s. Check out some of the Cure's videos and others from the time and they have the same vibe.
