Yep. No one messed with the USSR when they had a hard man at the top. Gorbachev ? He had two women in his life. His wife Raisa, and Margaret Thatcher. They turned him into a simp. He may not have started any wars, Gorby, but how many Russians died of starvation, homelessness, poverty, after he dissolved the USSR ? Mark my words - Medvedev will surpass Putin as a more effective leader of Russia. The West will fear him, and that's a good thing for Russia.

You said it. Putin is the best they have. I told someone on twitter and they cannot believe it. And it's necessary for Russia to be hardcore because the West hates Russia as a country and the people as well.

In 1994, I noticed an article in a newspaper showing the border check point between Russian Federation and Ukraine. I had a very strange feeling seeing it since somehow I felt that no border crossing should be between the two entities; as it has never existed before. I also had a strange premonition, this situation will degenerate into a fratricide war. Unfortunately, I was right. Ukraine and Russia should have had never been separated.

I would like to point out that it is US Marines together with a coalition of British, French, Canadian, Polish and other NATO countries who launched an unprovoked aggression against Russia NOT Ukraine. This is exactly an unprovoked NATO aggression against Russia with US, French, British, Polish, Canadian and other NATO troops fresh from the NATO military exercises in Poland. The triangular insignia is that of those war games in Poland, and US Marine Corps flags and French Foreign legion flags are being hoisted where NATO troops are invading and occupying. Both Hungarian prime minister Victor Orban and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico declared last moth: "NATO intends to attack Russia. This is madness and we will not be part of it." Few hours later French President Emmanuel Macron said it clearly that: "If things get worse on the battlefield for Ukraine, we will have to intervene. We cannot let Russia win."

According to Russian sources. US / NATO / Ukraine pulled this off by sending groups of 2 and 3 people, or 1 vehicle, to seemingly random positions all within a couple hours travel time to their starting location. Using superior US communication abilities, these troops all coordinated and moved in precise patterns to meet up in their attack locations for the beginning of the attack. Then they used fast units to take territory, with air defense and artillery units moving slowly behind them. Some of the "Ukrainian captured" territory had zero Ukrainians in it as the group that captured it had already moved on. US blitzkrieg logistical support made up for some of this deficiency by transporting units fairly quickly to cover up the large areas being captured.

Ukraine “attacked” directly into a literal “Russian kill zone kettle” near Kursk, and is now in the position of being the bug inside of a bug-hunter’s killing jar. So what are they supposed to do now? They can’t go any farther forward into Russia unless they pour in thousands and thousands of more troops and equipment, and even then they can’t go very far. So what’s the point? BUT if they do the logical thing and withdraw then they lost all of those men and resources for absolutely nothing except another humiliating loss.
If Russia is smart (and they are) then the “Kursk Enkettlement” will be prolonged as a long as possible, with Ukraine committed to sending more men and equipment into a hopeless meatgrinder until there are no more men or resources to send. At that point Russia simply takes the survivors as prisoners of war and then proceeds to walk into the major city of Sumy unopposed.
If I was trying to lose a war then I would do EXACTLY what Ukraine just did. It’s too stupid to be accidental. I think Ukraine is preparing to settle for the loss of the entire Donbass region and then sue for peace, with new national boundaries all legal and everything.

The Ukrainian forces that did the offensive on Kursk were initially sent on the border of Belarus. Belarus also sent big military on the border to counter Ukrainian's concentration. Then Kyiv and Belarus had negotiations on the situation and both agreed to move back their armies from the border so to deescalate the situation. That's how Russians got fooled because all Ukrainians were moved toward Kursk instead of the east front or Volchansk. Currently Russians are stabilising the situation in Kursk but at the same time Kyiv is not protected on it's border with Belarus and if the Russians decide to move through Belarus teritorry like they did the first time of the SMO then this can result in a quick and complette siege of Kyiv.

    Ukraine has long been gone.
Of course Russia will never say this.
You are going to see a new border of the Russian Federation somewhere west of Kiev, running from the Belarus border south to the Transnistria border.
There is also a chance Russia will go to the Hungary &/or Slovakia border.
Zero chance Russia is going to allow the "west" be present in Kiev or Odessa.
