He has really come along. I feared he would be underrated and then be replaced. This is a testimony to the kind of man Bill Gaither is. He pulls in talented and not raw, but singers that need developed in what their forte is and Gaither does that. I hope God gives him great health to carry this on. He's got to be in his late 70's now. Pray for this man.

"have you gotten used to the chains, are you so attached to the pain" Ouch. Direct hit. I've either never heard this song before or I've never listened to it before. Either way, it was exactly what I needed tonight. Drowning in grief and pain and feeling like this is some kind of punishment even though I know better, but I've definitely become attached to the pain. I'm afraid to let it go, afraid to take a step toward healing, afraid of being slapped back down again, afraid of failure... This one's on repeat while I pray and I humbly request prayer as I find my way back.
Who does not want to be well.. oh well , some of us may have to wait until we go home with our Lord ..but that's okay we can look forward to the best gift and blessing ever ...To be with our Lord FOREVER !! Not to mention we'll have new bodies , no more pain ever .... everything a person goes thru here on earth will not or can not compare to the pain our Lord went through so we sinners would have the opportunity to make the decision being in with our Lord in Heaven or we could choose the road to Hell...
The price He paid was a price that until you have accepted him as your Lord and Savior it will never be understood nor will it be appreciated....but for those who have chose to make Jesus their Lord and Savior we say " Thank You Jesus Thank You..Everyday I say Thank You Jesus Thank You !!......
It's 5:40am. I've just listened to this song yet again. It's one of my favourites. I have heard it many times before and loved it. It seemed as if I (or you) were singing it to my mother. She's depressed and bitter and hard to deal with. And yes, she needs to hear this message. However - Tonight... I mean, this morning... I heard it as if you (HE) were singing it to me. Do *I* want to be well? Do *I* want to be free? Am *I* willing to take the next small step to get *me* where I should be? To a place where I can deal with her again in a loving, Christian way? To a place where I can, once again, "sow mercy" - and grace and kindness and faith. Thank you for publishing this here for all the world to listen to and learn from. God is good - all the time! And He has our best in mind every second of every day. Thank you to Wes for putting your heart and soul into this song. It shows! Thanks to the rest of the GVB who are a step above so many others and yet never act like it. For the singing that blesses so many people for so many times. For the truth that you consistently put out there. And for the reminder to me today that I, too, need to be well. God bless.

And this song can reach so many hearts, really reach inside and pull out the depest seated problems, beyond the simple job losses or basic divorce, it gets to the deeper, more shadowy problems in life. I am a testimony to the power and truth of this song . I would love to meet Wes and tell him my story. I chose to be well, and the Lord has healed me in so many ways. Good grief I've been following the GVB for years and have never heard this song before. Wes is such a great singer! I can never say I have a favorite for when I'm asked I just say, all of them. Keep on keeping on men!

Love this song the message will and should touch the heart at least it should..I first heard this song last nite or I should say early morning around 2 am rough nite ..I have spinal issues and nerve pain is a big part of the package anyway I noticed many of the messages go back several years .. I don't know what rock I was under that I had not heard this beautiful song but I thank you Lord for allowing me to come across this beautiful song ..thank you Lord for the gift that you blessed Wes and so many more singers..bless all that use their blessings to praise you..
