I read all these comments wow such close minded boxed in people I've never come across yet..
One can think we're talking here about torah sh'bchsav where nothing can be changed.. Anshi is a talant beyond and above, by changing the tune he gave these old words new meaning and life.. This beautiful old classic was becoming stale and old, nobody under the age of 53 and a half touched this song, it was practically drying up fast, and just take a look at this song now, thousends of youngsters are all over this song, young and old are being inspired once again and can't get enough of it.. This song couldn't have had such an awsome effect without the amazing Brodt Schwartz dueo!
Imagine you tell an artist like Picasso why are you mixing eyes and feet in your paintings, eyes belong on top of a nose which is on top of a mouth etc. It is self understood that those who say that completely miss the artist's ideas, depth, and messege...
All these negetive commentators who are extremely upset about touching a song written at least 80 years ago which hardly anyone sings anymore, and for the record some say it was never written by yosele he just sang the song which was already old way back then, all of you out there should lighten up and those who have negetive things to say on these wonderful artists writing and performing this song, should get out of their cubicle and re-evaluate the self proclaimed artist within them they claim to possess ..

Disagree completely I'm from the young generation and I know the song we used to sing it as kids with all friends... How about going and taking MBD's someday and put new words to it!?!?!? Don't be stupid they literally killed it
1) indeed I can see you are from the young generation, for you to compare an mbd song which is 25-30 years old to yiddisha mama which is approx one hundred years old is redicelous!
2) they didn't change the words to this knew song, as you claim changing words to an mbd song wud be terrible. Here they only changed the tune
3) by you claiming to have song the song as a kid dosnt take away the fact that most youngsters don't, in fact today's kids aren't singing any songs which are too long
4) I cannot understand to the life of me what the fuss is all about! As all of you claim they changed the song.. Here is a talanted guy who wrote a different version of music for this song, he didn't change it! You can still sing the old version if you like.. who changed anything? If someone changes the color of your house then you got a problem, it will cost you to have it redone. Change and being upset about it or writing negetive comments about it could only apply to a change that effects you or costs you money or effort to change back to the original! What is this outcry about I cannot understand to the life of me. It is only another version of an old song, who holds back anyone from singing the old version? If someone creates a painting of the western wall in pink color, u can say it's a distortion of what the wall really looks like but you can also marvel at the talant of the artist and say as long as he did it only on canvas but didn't paint the actual wall pink it's fine, in matter of fact most artist would appreciate the pink wall as a new way to look at the wall.. But here it's just a song, why do people make it sound like it only comes like this and can only be song this way or that way?
All this is finally the reason which is why I wrote what I wrote.. There will always be a difference between an artist who uses his imagination to create sometimes original ideas and other times old ideas with a new twist, and the straight forward in the box person who can't see anything else besides tradition, rules and regulations.. Which is fine, but they shouldn't call themselves artists as is apparent from their comments..
that what you claim that Yoseles song is getting stale and old and the new generation dont like it, is definitely not true! Yosseles "A Yiddisha Mama" will always be beautiful and never get old.
Now about this song. The first time I watched it, I could not stand it because of the stolen lyrics, but after watching a few time, I couldn't stop listening again and again. its BEAUTIFUL, the song, the production, the singers, everything!
Beautiful song, sang by 2 amazing artists , it's the words from the known old jidishe mame , however I think this new melody is absolutely fabulous ... emotional, warm and a new masterpiece!!!!!well done !!!!I can hear it a million times .......
