- A short conservation film by Global Conservation, the only conservation organization focused on protecting endangered national parks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites around the world.
Film premiered on 10/16/19 at Stanford University's Cantor Arts Center to a full house of scientists including Dr. Paul Ehrlich of Stanford's Center for Conservation Biology. Also in attendance were Dr. Gerardo Ceballos, Dr. Richard Hansen, Dr. Rahimatsah Amat, and Michael Finley, Jeff Morgan and Michael Sutton of Global Conservation. Media in attendance included Rhett Butler of Mongabay, also on the Advisory Board of Global Conservation.
Stop Extinction script: "Our planet is being cut and cleared. Our wildlife is being killed and sold. Our rainforests are burning. The extinction of species, plant and animal, has now accelerated to where we have lost more species in the past 100 years than the 10,000 years before.
Because of the human impact on our Earth in the last fifty years, over 80% of our tropical rainforests in Asia, and over 50% of the Amazon’s jungles have been lost. Today, mammals, fish, reptiles, birds, amphibians and insect kingdoms are collapsing. Right now over one million species teeter on the brink of extinction. The effects of losing critical species could ultimately lead to the loss of our own - mankind.
As we destroy our rainforests, pollute our watersheds, and decimate marine habitats and entire fisheries, we are threatened by our own self-destruction.
Leading scientists around the world agree that the actions we take now will be critical to the final outcome. Our final outcome. We must act now to protect our world’s national parks, tropical rainforests and animal sanctuaries, the last bastions for survival of species on earth.
By stopping human destruction we will save our last critically endangered species along with their wild habitats. Unlike America, developing countries need critical support - financial, technical and operational resources to protect their national parks and world heritage.
We need your support to STOP EXTINCTION NOW by protecting our last intact forests and wildlife habitats. Before it is too late.
Fight extinction today by saving our global parks and critical wildlife habitats for future generations.
Go to globalconservation.org and show your support. Join STOPExtinctions.org and see how you can help endangered species in each country and make a difference today!"

About us
Global Conservation is dedicated to safeguarding our planet's most vital and endangered wilderness areas as wild spaces face unprecedented threats. With poaching, logging, mining, land clearing, and human encroachment on the rise, these pristine habitats are rapidly disappearing. Over the next decade, human activity is projected to consume half of the remaining intact wildlife habitats, endangering iconic species like tigers, primates, bears, lions, elephants, and rhinos. Protected areas are becoming the last refuges for wildlife in developing nations.
As the sole nature conservation organization focused solely on directly funding park protection systems for national parks and UNESCO World Heritage Sites in developing countries, Global Conservation prioritizes the preservation of these critical ecosystems. We work hand in hand with local and indigenous communities, empowering them as the first line of defense for their ancestral lands. Our flagship program, Global Park Defense, aims to extend "No Cut, No Kill" protection to 25 parks worldwide by 2025. Together with our partners and supporters, we strive to ensure the long-term survival of our planet's most precious natural treasures.

We really enjoyed producing this for Global Conservation. Between having access to Paul Jan Hilton's images, and consultation from some of the world's leading scientists, it was an amazing experience. A must see for everyone!
So important that human behavior doesn't destroy this planet. We must wise up fast!
It's unstoppable ... I hav no hope of protecting these magnificent amazing animal world...day by day population is growing , that means more resources needed..I'm trying my best to protect environment ..
This is a beautiful collection of powerful and convincing images, so well crafted to create this video, The visual message expressed is powerful throughout!
Images speaks for themselves... actually no need to argu anymore, we just need to act
Against the truth of origins
Buried by burdens of afterlife
Founded as first mass of meaning
A wall made from stone
Harvested from silent sparrows
As their presence dwindles
Into a future toward --
Murder of liberty in undiscovered realms
Exists in quandary
Past the boundary of no return
In the landscape of prophets
Who demand on sight
Failure proof apparent
Across oceans of life
The target being earth
Thus cannot be called earthlings
As waters quench
Thirsty land and life
Returning value to the forgotten
Rapture is heaven
The Mother Wild need belive at good guys !
Much better to protect parks by supporting eco-tourism than destroying rainforests. Hunting of endangered species should be banned worldwide.
Make earth humanity nature wildlife environment biodiversity ecosystem cities towns countries 100% extinction free and strong bright smart renewable ageless beautiful eco friendly sustainable solarpunk immortal utopian resilient peaceful safer healthier anachronistic future

Most of us don't care inough.
I want to stop extinction and extincting animals from these stupid hunters, don't hunt sharks fish or any animal never hunt any animal
Food resources and nutrition is needed but am against hunting animals for fun or hunting animals that are gonna be extinct for the sake of clothes, accessories,or decoration furniture. Veganism is unhealthy and we need meat but we sure dont need a meat from a cheetah or a shark
@@blinduser-zz5bk yeah finally someone who realizes the truth
If dinos didn’t go extinct then we would probably die and might be living in caves again
No shit, Sherlock. Their extinction was a perfectly natural event. They dominated this planet for millions of years...the ground shook with their footsteps for eons. They had dominion over every other kind of animal...but they weren't aware of that. They ate each other, and some even killed for sport...but they didn't need a $1500.00 Cabela's gift card to do it like humans do. Humans have this delusional belief that we're superior to other animals in every way just because we're more intelligent. Think about it...deer and cougars have survived longer than we've even been here, and they do it without central air, ovens, freezers, electricity, fire, or chlorinated tap water. It's a common misconception among brainwashed assholes that we are at the "top of the food chain". Not only that, but they believe that we are divine beings created in the image of God Almighty himself for the sole purpose of worshipping HIM, and ALL other plants and animals were created as a gift from the same God just to fulfill our needs and desires. And in the bible, God tells us this about them:
"The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered." ---Genesis 9:2
So, if animals are so terrified of us, why do so many of them have the ability to maim us to death or even swallow us whole? If a tiger appears in my path through the jungle, all I have to do is explain to him that God commands him to fear me and bow down before my total dominion over him AND his jungle, right?
He created every plant for us, too. Bananas, corn, and aloe plants benefit us...but why did he create so many plants that can kill a human or sicken us or give us nasty rashes or become addicted to? Nightshade, poison ivy, and opium poppies are a gift from God? Well, excuse me, but FUCK God and everything he stands for.
@@andywilson4554 what the heck
What does this have to do with the concept of this video,it was talking about the extinction of nowadays animals not about a natural event millions of years ago before humans have evolved.
@@T0mtoma why u tryna start an argument
@@andywilson4554 imagine saying the last part to a catholic how would they feel
I wish you everyone would comment on other political videos about the destruction of species who can't do anything people can
I hope the new species that rule the Earth after we die will be better than humans
There are 2 animals that could easily replace us: Apes and cephalopods...can you imagine? A world dominated by anthropomorphic octopuses sounds fascinating!
