I can relate to this so much: after having been low carb for so long, I naturally have lost my appetite for carb heavy foods, especially those with very high statch and wheat content (pasta or bread). But I dont deny myself the occasional seasonal strawberry or a small serving of sushi if I really crave for it. Those moments are so rare anyways these days that I dont feel as if they are going to cause any issues and I never relapse into binging. I have transitioned into the type of person who can buy a bar of high quality dark chocolate, eat a piece of it, and then forget about it in the cupboard for the next 6 months. I dont feel the urge to keep going until the entire bar is gone. And this is how I believe it should be to begin with

@@AF-dn2bz Maybe I should have clarified to trust our bodies, once we are in ketosis for quite a while🤣.

I've never counted my carbs and use an app on my phone if I want to know the carb content of anything. My body cannot tolerate many carbs but sometimes I give myself permission to eat something higher in carbs and like Fan said I savour every bite. After about 8 months now I have naturally gravitated to being in the keto range about two thirds of the time and in the low carb range during the rest of the time. I am happy with the range of foods I can eat. If I had one grumble it would be a lack of healthy low-carb sweeteners. The sugar alcohols are supposed to go through the body without being absorbed but they are still highly processed. Thanks for the content fan! x

have you tried stevia sugar substitute? It's made from leaves.

I use liquid stevia in stuff like egg custard, a few drops is enough, and allulose in baking. Both are healthy and work well.

I've been back on keto since early January for health and weight loss . I've lost 2 and a half stone and I haven't counted calories or carbs ....I've weighed myself every week or so but that's it . I feel so much better when I'm avoiding carbs, and certainly losing the extra weight has really helped, too ❤

Starting after Christmas and or about 2 months I logged everything I ate with the Carb Manager app, generally keeping below 50 (total) carbs per day alongside a 600+ calorie deficit , and then stopped logging and ceased thinking about it as I had built up a general sense of what combination of foods would send me over. By then my appetite had adapted and I was probably naturally eating less calories than I was when I was logging - certain when I first started - without thinking about it. I probably go over the 50 carbs multiple times per month but the overall trend is still low carb and I'm still losing weight, and I haven't really exercised in the last 2 months either (I was doing quite a lot of Beat Saber as my exercise).
    Was 17st (6ft male), now almost 14st 0lbs,

The whole eating issue is broken down that we have a diversity of microbiome called probiotics within our intestines that helps to regulate our health and well being. So the more we get into habit of feeding our gut buddies prebiotics to help them thrive, the better our bodies reacts to the conversion of postbiotics into energy and health. So we need to get out of the bad habit of eating those things that would harm our microbiome and get into the habit of eating just the things that would help them thrive. In other words. If we give them what they need they will take care of the rest. Thank you for taking the time to teach us those things we need to give us more options of things we can feed our microbiome and make them happy. Your awesome for helping us make our lives better. Take care and bon appetit.

Thank you.....the idea to be mindful yet not limit oneself...to listen intuitively to the body. One thing I noticed is if I eat the same thing a lot...that I develop a sensitivity to it and then have to take a break. So to learn to explore all kind of foods...some days may a higher carb account...yet the variety and being creative with food is key. This is what I got from listening to this video.
P.S. I am a meat eater...however I like to INCLUDE more vegetarian to vegan keto food recipes. Especially since I have a dairy sensitivity and then the egg allergy. Even with that my holistic nutritionist suggest to not limit myself....simply buy pasturized eggs from the amish.....and to eat it 2x a week vs everyday. So I appreciate your keto vegan recipes. Thank you.

I think people should understand the difference between complex carbs and processed carbs. Green cruciferous Veggies have complex carbs, however they come with water and fiber. It doesn’t spike your insulin (which is a fat storing hormone. I would be more concerned with understanding a healthy microbiome , eliminating white flour ,sugar, processed and ultra processed food, seed oils and additives in our food. ❤

I did not start losing weight until I started counting net carbs. this is true for hundreds of other people Ive spoken with who spent years trying to figure out what works. Im honestly surprised at the amount of people commenting here who are referring to counting carbs as some sort of poor decision.

What number of net carbs works for you? Are you female? I'm a middle aged woman 50 lbs overweight.

@@always_b_kind to make it work, I have to eat less than 10 per day for the first three days. At that point I've adjusted to a low craving ketosis., and can continue at 20 to 30 carbs per day going forward. Good luck on your journey.

When i exercised 5x a week. I could go as high as 60g and still be in ketosis.
You have to experiment on yourself. If i don't do much exercise, i keep it as low as i can.
Testing yourself can be helpful here
