The Crocker line as well. Breaking them down like steps on the back of the crocker, Bet he take that. Betty Crocker is a line of pre-mixed ingredients for baking cakes. Just unreal intricacy.
This is one of the best first time Pete and Bas reactions I've seen! Usually people get so hung up on how they look that they don't even bother to pay attention to the bars. They also miss the multiple complex flow-switches. But you caught all of that. Kudos.
Legit Cockney wanka here. Had people telling me I talk too fast my whole life. We've had slang since before someone invented the word slang. It was originally used so you could talk about criminal activities within earshot of the Police and them to be unable understand what you're talking about. We've got slang for everything even numbers 5= A jacks 10 = A Tenner 20= A score 50 = A bullseye 100 = A Ton 500= A Monkey 1000= A Grand but you could also use large, 3000 is 3 large. We literally have slang for more or less everything. Old school London slang is now being replaced with a lot of Jamaican and Indian slang terms now but these two old geezers know whats up.

"I dodged the case, so I flipped the bird" This means i didn't get prosecuted and didn't need to go to prison (Doing Bird). 4. "mess with the cake then I'll Battenberg him" Cake meaning drugs & Battenberg is a type of cake eaten with tea in the UK. 5. "dipped like a Rich Tea biscuit" Popular British biscuit (We do love our Biscuits). 6. "Knock Down Ginger" game played by kids in the UK where you knock at someone's door and leg it to wind them up. 7. "Box a man back like I'm munching jollof" Jollof is Nigerian Rice. 8. "Super Kings and a bottle of bourbon" Super Kings are very long Cigarettes sold in the UK. 9. "Let that rip when I'm whipping that German" German refers to a BMW Car. 10. "Flick of the wrist and I left him gurning" Gurning is a weird distorted facial expression (Just Google "Gurning" and look at Photos, You'll understand!) 11. "Just stepped out in a fresh Ben Sherman" Ben Sherman make Shirts. 12. "I was locked in an HMP" HMP is Her Majesty's Prison. 13. "Del Boy, Peckham, they recognise me" This refers to Del Boy the main character of at UK TV Show called Only Fools & Horses (Arguably the Best Sit Com we ever made). 14. "Then he'll get cemented, builder's site" Buried in a Building site. 15. "cone get split like Chevron" on UK motorways they sometimes have Chevron markers that tell you to stay 2 metres apart. 16. "Chavving his jewels" Chavving means Stealing. Hope this helps our American Cousins :P

I’m in your age group. Haven’t liked anyone as much as these two since I discovered Lowkey many years ago. They are so good. Their lyricism and cadence are so good.
That's the thing, people talk about ghostwriters, but you can't just pull shit like *that* out unless you've been around. Nine & Dex definitely have a hand in crafting their style, but at the very least, it's a very successful partnership between the kiddos and their gramps/uncles/whatever.
Every bar and verse is genius. I could go into specific detail on each bar, verse, schemes, beats etc but it'd take me hours to breakdown in it's entirety. And alot is just my interpretation. That opening verse has bars that have obvious meanings like "cats jumping like puma" "dream like Martin Luther"... As we know, the verse has a "sleep" scheme with "Dream" "Fall asleep" "Nightmare" "Sleep" in each bar. Now I could be way off thinking this, I've never read anyone mention it. But that opening verse also has a German/ww2 scheme. Let me explain. Luger - a German semi-automatic pistol used by German soldiers in ww2. Puma - a German sports brand founded by Rudolf Dassler in 1948. He was a member of the Nazi party. Fall asleep to the sound of the Hoover - in ww2 when enemy planes were near and about to start dropping bombs. An air raid siren would alert people to take shelter. The siren sounded like an old hoover (vacuum cleaner). Fall asleep meaning dying to the sound of the siren (hoover) as bombs landed. Krueger - a German surname. Also Walter Kruger a Nazi SS General in ww2. Martin Luther - a 16th-century German monk and reformer whose efforts to reform the theology and practices of the Catholic Church launched the Protestant Reformation. Tuna - HMS Tuna (N94) was a T-class submarine of the Royal Navy during ww2. It was equipped with German-built engines. USS Tuna (SS-203) was a United States Navy Tambor-class submarine, serving in the Pacific during ww2. - now it's just my interpretation, and I could go into even more detail on the full sesh, alot that ive never heard anyone mention.
PETE AND BAS PLUGGED IN WITH FUMEZ IS A MUST!!! You won’t be disappointed TRUST!! 🇬🇧🔥🇬🇧🔥 This is one of the Coldest reactions to our UK old g’s, keep it up 🤣🥶
One of the most endearing things about these reaction videos is the genuine way in which Pete and Bass have been embraced by the black community strictly for their lyrical excellence and authenticity. The outpouring of love and support for these two from every demographic is just so beautiful to see. Well done guys. Nothing truly unites like arts and sports.
Your reaction was awesome and a joy to watch. It’s always so much fun watching someone discover Pete & Bas for the first time. (They were one of the few joys of the pandemic for me.) They’re even more impressive if you understand UK slang or pop culture. For example, Mr. Benn was a kids cartoon in the 70’s that featured a character who would change into various costumes inside his walk-in closet, then step out into whatever time period and/or location the costume suggested. I would recommend Mr. Worldwide, Shuffle, Old Estate, Golf and Plugged in with Fumez.
"THESE N****s is rappin!!!" What a reaction. Welcome to your new rabbit hole. Think about that this is THE BEST track they put out, and all other tracks are FIRE!! Pete is the short one, and Bas is pronounced like BAZ, as his name is Basil. I'm sure you've gotten a lot of suggestions. Go way back and work your way up if you want to see the progression of them getting better and better. When they do drill, they always reference, or borrow a line from a previous track, which is "Cha Cha step in the dance and slide, two hand on me hips and glide", is from the track Shuffle from this summer. Golf, Old Estate ft M24, Dents in a Puegot, Lightwork Freestyle, Bermondsey. The new releases this year in order were Browns, Mr Worldwide, Shuffle, Windowframe Cypher part 2, and this current one Sindhu Sesh
BY FAR my favorite reaction of yours are the 2 Pete and Bas reactions. Not just of your on RUclips. The excitement, the breakdown, just being a new fan of something. Truly a perfect set of reactions.
They have been shelling out bangers for FIVE years! Each track different from the last. Just look up their list of over 30 tracks and pick any one of them and you will be impressed! These two Masters have got the game in a strangle-hold! 🐐🐐
You know how many years people put into the game to be able to wrap like this and these guys just step up like this because they've lived these type of lives in a way whether they write their own stuff or not the way they perform at the cadence the flow the way they play off one another is so next level
The best line you missed was about martin luther king. Hoover was the head of the fbi or cia..."falling asleep to the sound of the hoover" is these 70 yr old English men saying "we know what happened"
9:24 "The mac(ine) bang quicker" is obviously the gun being faster than a punch. But, it's also a play on Bangers and Mash, which is a classic British dish of sausages and mashed potatoes and gravy. Meat and potatoes word play.
Finally! 🤣 Welcome to the collective! Depending on where you want to start you can go backwards from here or you can start from when they first did stuff and go forward. There's do one, ugly, dents in a Peugeot, golf, window frame cypher 1 and 2, shuffle, speeding, duffle bag, two phones, browns, quick little freestyle, plugged in with fumez, the oldest state, Mr worldwide, shuffle, bermondsey, etc. They have their own little mixtape and everything's a banger
I think for technical level, wordplay and flow changes this is their best stuff, but I also really like Browns, Mr. Worldwide and their Plugged In with Fumez. Also, this beat from 91 shots is 👌
The way you said "what the fk is this bruh" i knew too well when i saw that sess first time. As a rap head for 25 years plus, this is one of the few times i couldn't believe my eyes and ears man. But these two are so legit, it's beyond comprehension and they deserve every accolade thrown at them.
Someone on another video explained some of the British slang they use that just adds so much more depth to their bars that I simply miss out on as an American. Like the verse that starts with "One things for sure and two things for certain", later he says "mess with the cake and I'll battenberg him". Sooo... obviously he's talking about cake like it's money. But "Battenberg" is some sort of checkered looking British cake, and it's slang for the checkered pattern on their ambulances. SO much more than meets the eye going on here. The levels are ridiculous.
Another one people tend to miss is in the "Burn that rubber like I'm Michelin, 5 star food that I dish to them, Chef's hat on when I'm whipping in the kitchen, Then I switch suits like I'm Mr Benn" lines. It goes from michelin tires, to michelin star restaurants, to making drugs in the "kitchen". Then it's all tied together even neater by the Mr Benn line saying that whatever needs doing, he'll do it.
Bro - one of the best Pete and Bas first times! Catching the bars and schemes all over, great work man. Would love to see you react to more Pete and Bas - genuinely, all amazing. Late reply but you are right, they were. Pete was a notorious South London gangster, associate of the Krays and on trial in 1998 for, you can guess. Bas was a money launderer and ran a.. bare knuckle fight club in his garden. Among other activities. Lads are legit.
Out of enjoyment I’ve watched a lot of reactions to Pete & Bas from different youtubers. Yours is by far the most interesting reaction. It’s so entertaining. Keep it going bro!

The way you said "what the fk is this bruh" i knew too well when i saw that sess first time. As a rap head for 25 years plus, this is one of the few times i couldn't believe my eyes and ears man. But these two are so legit, it's beyond comprehension and they deserve every accolade thrown at them.
"Shelled on Big Bang Theory". Thats a bar
Golf and the windowpane cypher pt 1 and 2 if you want to see the whole crew
I gotta peep those
Pete and bas, Lightwork Freestyle. Must watch 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I love seeing ppls first reaction to them. They fire asf
I totally missed that Betty Crocker line first listen. Damn.
Browns, lightwork freestyle they are all 🔥🔥 check out all of them even the older stuff is good
Someone on another video explained some of the British slang they use that just adds so much more depth to their bars that I simply miss out on as an American.
Yo, how these geezers so damn cold?
❄️🥶
Pete and Bas are my new favourite thing 👂

Bro - one of the best Pete and Bas first times! Catching the bars and schemes all over, great work man. Would love to see you react to more Pete and Bas - genuinely, all amazing. Mr Worldwide is special, the whole song is one long scheme, The Old Estate is crazy, Browns is fire. Gonna hit up your Plugged In bud now man, keep it up 👏🏽💪🏽
Seen shitloads of reactions to this (upwards of 25 to 30), you’re the second person I’ve seen get the Betty Crocker bar. Well fucking done.
Also, T-Rex is getting to the point where Old Man bars IS something we have to deal with 😂.
I'm completely convinced that these 2 were gangsters and definitely did all these things in their day.
Their triples are insane.
Late reply but you are right, they were.
Pete was a notorious South London gangster, associate of the Krays and on trial in 1998 for, you can guess.
Bas was a money launderer and ran a.. bare knuckle fight club in his garden. Among other activities.
Lads are legit.
I don't normally watch reaction videos, but dude! Your reactions are kicking me ass! 😂
Good to see you catching most bars
Out of enjoyment I’ve watched a lot of reactions to Pete & Bas from different youtubers. Yours is by far the most interesting reaction. It’s so entertaining. Keep it going bro!

I love seeing people react to Pete and Bas for the first time. I can't even recommend a particular tune to react to next as they're all fire tbh! Great reaction!
