Why is every song about love? No, that's not the question - the REAL question is why isn't Jukebox the Ghost more popular? I can't think of another band with better songwriting, musical artistry, and just general rock n roll-ness. Keep it coming guys. Been a fan for over a decade, raised my kids on your music.
Jutebox the Ghost has perfectly blended the 2010 alternative sound with a Queen style rock sound. This is most evident in Tommy Siegel's guitar playing which is no doubt directly influenced by the great Brian May. The guitar solo is the reason this is getting a thumbs up!!
this video is so cute. everyone looks so incredibly happy to be there and they just look like they're trying to have a good time and HONESTLY I LOVE IT GOD BLESS THIS BAND
I think I understand the purpose of this song after watching this video. The lyrics are clear, stating that the reason we hear all these songs of people "drinking too much" or falling in love is because we, ourselves, yearn for love. We attach ourselves to these kinds of songs because the provide what we lack, an idea that someday, maybe we can be in love. Maybe, someday, we can feel the same way. Something we look forward to, something we strive for. But what does that do to us? It turns our life into a party, sure, as seen in this video. Vibrant colors, confetti, streamers, all of these fun party supplies thrown into our life because we believe we lack it. We take these songs in, not realizing that our life is becoming somewhat dependent upon them. We don't want the party to stop, and so more paint is poured, more powder is thrown, more dancing, more, well, anything to stop us from realizing we lack real love or real attachment. Finally, at the end of the chaos, we take a step back. When he stops playing the piano, he is left in a dirty, disgusting, silent room. These songs about love, these songs about "drinking too much," when we stop listening, we find ourselves in the same place. A dirty, disgusting, silent room. Until we hit the skip button on our phone and listen to the next song. And the next. And the next. And the next. That seems to be the message the video and the song is trying to convey. Any thoughts?
Well, not so much nihilism, but the message that we are pumping fake love into ourselves, tricking ourselves that we have what we lack. How the moment it's taken away (3:13), we realize just how much we lacked. But yeah, they certainly snuck that one into this song! Very well disguised, I must say.
David Modrovich i agree with you I know quite a few songs one of the key lines is won't you help my suber up And have you heard that one song by chain smockeres that everhone is listening to it about love and it seems like that's what almost all songs are about
[Verse 1] Dragged into another heartbreak Like a moth into a flame Are we programmed for broken romance? Everything just sounds the same [Chorus] Why's every song about love or drinking too much? Yeah, maybe that's because everybody's lonely On your radio, there's another song that goes "Babe, I'll never let you go" Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely [Verse 2] Digging through another playlist Searching for a piece of art A Jackson Pollock, some piece of gossip Why can't we tell them all apart? [Chorus] Why's every song about love or drinking too much? Yeah, maybe that's because everybody's lonely On your radio, there's another song that goes "Babe, I'll never let you go" Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely [Post-Chorus] Everybody's lonely Everybody's lonely [Bridge] Everybody, everybody's lonely [Chorus] Why's every song about love or drinking too much? Yeah, maybe that's because everybody's lonely (Yeah) On your radio, there's another song that goes "Babe, I'll never let you go" Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely [Outro] Oh, everybody's lonely Everybody's lonely Woo, everybody lonely, yeah Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely
Just seen these guys live last night, such a great show ! They’re super relaxed and friendly, even intermingled with the crowd during the first few performances. Awesome experience
This is the first song I've heard since their first album that I genuinely loved! It's great to hear some solid musicianship and ambitious songwriting in the middle of the glut of trap beats and four-chord songs.
They just came to my university yesterday and it was phenomal. I forgot I had listened to them before, even though this was the first and only song I was familiar with by them. Gotta listen to them more.
First RUclips comment since middle school... All to thank you guys for a great song! This song played on the radio a bunch in February 2019 but I forgot the name and band so... I've been searching for the past two hours for you. And here you are! Keep it up guys!!
This song is honestly absolutely beautiful, really, I can't tell you how much I love it, it brings emotions and it just makes you feel automatically happy ?? Amazing job you deserve a lot more subscribers 💗💓💟💞💞💓💓💟💟💞💓💓💟💟💟💟💞💟💓💟💟💓💓💟💟💓💓💟💟💓💞💓💓💗💟💟💞💞💓💓
This is the most amazing song ❤ Lyrics FULL of truth and wisdom, with a beat that makes you want to move your feet 💃 thank you Jukebox the Ghost for this absolute gem of music
So glad to be seeing so many "you sound like queen" comments!! Yass!! Freddie mercury would be SOOOO proud!! He would kill the shit outta this performance if he were still alive!! Love it!!! ❤
When you’re experimenting with your first music video... Director: How bout we throw a bunch of confetti and silly string with balls bouncing everywhere while the dancers are starring at their phones.... YEAH!!!

This is how I test the sound quality and bass on new headphones. So I get to hear a banger for a valid reason. Thanks!
This is the IDEAL bop for singles on Valentines Day. Like just do your hair, eat chocolate and dance alone to this? Yes.
“Dragged into another heartbreak”
Like a moth into my CAR.
...specific...
Thanks I needed that laugh🤣
this video is so cute. everyone looks so incredibly happy to be there and they just look like they're trying to have a good time and HONESTLY I LOVE IT GOD BLESS THIS BAND
I love the genuine smiling and how they're like, embracing their loneliness. The look like they're having so much fun!!
This is my favorite song to listen to on Valentine's day:"")
And they sound JUST as good in concert. Seriously. Three guys and they make such a full sound. Love Jukebox the Ghost!
Saw these guys at a concert a couple years ago and been obsessed ever since. They deserve so much more hype!

I agree. And I must say, JTG has really upped their nihilistic-cry-fests-disguised-as-bops game!

David Modrovich
I bet you thought for a long time to figure that out
Damn... *stares off into space*
7 years and still one of my most favorite bands
Just 7 years? "Hold It In" reached #2 in my chart 9 years ago.
Wes wait! 7 years?!?! They been out for seven years. I got alot of catching up to do. I just heard this song on Conan today.
Just hearing it for the first time. Power to the propaganda in marketing
What about now? Still ur favorite?
I love jukebox the ghost more and more every time they release something, I mean seriously this is a bop
Ever since this song came on my spotify playlist I listen non stop. They sound like Queen am I right????
Alot like queen,
:0
"Why is every song about love or drinking too much?" So true
I am so sad that songs that are good but not nearly this good get millions of views yet Jukebox videos don't seem to get there. Such an amazing band.
1:56 and on till the next chorus gave me a distinct Queen vibe
bohemian vibe for me
Briefly. It reminds me of a Mika/Jason Mraz vibe.
Why isn't this song playing everywhere
[Verse 1]
Dragged into another heartbreak
Like a moth into a flame
Are we programmed for broken romance?
Everything just sounds the same
[Chorus]
Why's every song about love or drinking too much?
Yeah, maybe that's because everybody's lonely
On your radio, there's another song that goes
"Babe, I'll never let you go"
Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely
[Verse 2]
Digging through another playlist
Searching for a piece of art
A Jackson Pollock, some piece of gossip
Why can't we tell them all apart?
[Chorus]
Why's every song about love or drinking too much?
Yeah, maybe that's because everybody's lonely
On your radio, there's another song that goes
"Babe, I'll never let you go"
Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely
[Post-Chorus]
Everybody's lonely
Everybody's lonely
[Bridge]
Everybody, everybody's lonely
[Chorus]
Why's every song about love or drinking too much?
Yeah, maybe that's because everybody's lonely (Yeah)
On your radio, there's another song that goes
"Babe, I'll never let you go"
Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely
[Outro]
Oh, everybody's lonely
Everybody's lonely
Woo, everybody lonely, yeah
Everybody's lonely, everybody's lonely
Just seen these guys live last night, such a great show ! They’re super relaxed and friendly, even intermingled with the crowd during the first few performances. Awesome experience
This is amazing, hope this will be in the radio soon, after so many years you deserve it!
sara oerum i heard it on the pop station
Really? Which one?
It’s on alt nation
our wishes have been answered oh my god
I heard it on ALT 98.7 in LA!
This is the first song I've heard since their first album that I genuinely loved!
It's great to hear some solid musicianship and ambitious songwriting in the middle of the glut of trap beats and four-chord songs.
Man I'm getting crazy Queen-Vibes here...
giantprewiew such a scam off of them
It's not a bad thing to take influence from someone else. Everything is a remix, especially in the entertainment industry.
Jake Lashon
I didn't say it was a bad thing, did i?
I love Queen.
Nah not at all! I love Queen as well! It seemed like Lauren was implying it using "scam".
giantprewiew i think they were replying to Lauren S
Can we just take a moment to thank them, for the accuracy of these lyrics?
HELL YEAH ONE MILLION VIEWS
Sounds like a mix between queen, Muse and half alive in the best way possible. Fucking love this band
1; I relate on a spiritual level

The tiny piano and pink instruments are a great look for you guys!! Will we be seeing random color explosions during tour this year?
I can confirm that he’s actually playing the piano

Of course he is...That's Schroeder as an adult yo.haha
It doesn't have enough octaves
I can confirm they're actually dancing. Looks can be deceiving

Very Queenish vibe!
Love it!
This makes me so happy and its also so honest and the choreography for those dancers sort of crack me up. A+ good
He has a very Queen-esque voice, it's great!
I initially liked this song because he sounded just like Fredde's faulseto in Killer Queen.
I'm not really sure what I just watched but it was quite entertaining.
It was fun to film
Just bought tickets to see them when they come to my home town in September!
Been listening to this band for about six years now. So underrated!
FABULOUS!!!! I've loved you all since I saw you when touring with the Mowglis in Milwaukee in fall of 2019. WOOOHOOO!!!
This song is EXTREMELY underrated.

Finally a song about this.
They played this 4 or more times a day at my job and hearing it again makes me feel like I'm in retail hell. This is some megan Trainor type music
Check out their albums prior to their 2014 self titled and this one if you dislike pop music. They’ve got some REALLY good tracks.
