    It's understandable the kennel situation. Especially with new baby coming

      Yeah so far they seem to be just fine. It’s funny how both my husband and I made it seem like they would not be!

      @@Dogdayshomesteadit's funny my daughter was single when she got her dogs, now she's engaged and her man said absolutely not to couch n their bed. Brooke was angry at first and in told her it doesn't hurt them to sleep on $100 dog beds, plus dogs have been sleeping on dirt for centuries. Now she says they listen better n everything. I told her that's right, it's more clear to them now that you are the alpha.

      Thank you for that story! We assume way too much that a dog needs comfort when they do better with structure. I hope to get to a happy medium over the next year as I learn to teach them.

    I live in canada, I'm on city water, my niece who lives in Omemee, Ontario isn't on city water and her water stinks bad. She's added the softener but to me it stinks. She's lived out there for years now, she doesn't smell it at all. I think you'll get used to it. It's not like she smells like the water. I used to think I would when I showered but it was fine. I think it's something to get used to when you are coming from city water

    • @Dogdayshomestead
      @Dogdayshomestead  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I have become used to it where I am no longer throwing up at least. The softener helped a little but the hot water still smells pretty bad. I think it’s just harder because the pregnancy super sense of smell! I’m very hopeful it will get better after we install the second filter!!! 🤞🤞🤞 I’m from Ontario too! Have not been to Omemee yet though! But I’m so much happier to be a short drive away from all my fam in Canada and the border is open again finally in a few days!

    Talk about tense, when those tires started skidding as the buck was crossing! Yowzers! Forgive me for not being familiar, but if you do end up having a C-section how many weeks are you supposed to stay away from the dogs? Is it because they might jump up or bump into you and risk damage/re-injury, or is it to prevent potential infections etc? Some more big changes coming for you guys and I'm sending you my best and hoping everything goes as smoothly as can be for you guys! I know it is not an easy time, but you guys are handling it like champs!

      Right! I was like oh gosh what are the odds of me filming and someone hitting a deer. I saw him about to cross and then heard the tires before seeing the car. Glad everything worked out for the deer and car! C section is typically two major weeks of recovery where you are pretty much helpless and need personal care. My dogs love to burrow their heads on the belly or if they jump up or nudge me I could become injured as you loose your core as they have to cut through your stomach muscles to get the baby out. Last time around it took me 4 weeks to interact freely with them after my c section. My husband is going to care for them this time around but it will be a lot as he will have to help me and watch Jordyn. I’m going to try and see if there is any way to avoid a c section this time around since a vaginal birth is typically only a few days to a week recovery if there were no complications. I’m learning how much I still humanize and have guilt and shame fir no reason. Of course the dogs would love the comfort of being with us all the time but they seem just fine even with very little. Proud of them for learning to make the best of chilling out!

    The word your looking for is
    Anthropomorphism-the attribution of human characteristics, emotions, and behaviors to animals or other non-human things

    I love your Instagram stories! I run the mother of misfits account on there! Lol Maybe a dog door in the garage could help in case you have to be distant with the dogs for awhile? I’m curious about how breeding contracts work if you move? Are you still responsible for your part of the contract even if you have stopped your breeding program/are located somewhere different? Thanks for the great content!

    • @Dogdayshomestead
      @Dogdayshomestead  3 года назад +2

      Ohhh I didn’t know that was you, love your IG! I’m still responsible for life of all the puppies and so are the owners and I still owe my epileptic pup owners a replacement. If I don’t breed then I can find them another trustworthy breeder to buy the pup from. The only downside is my contracts are GA based so I could have to travel for legal issues.
