This is a lovely page for a lovely lady. Your dad was a very talented artist. You sure do favor both of your parents. I love doing vintage scrapbook pages, but to be honest, I haven't done a scrapbook page in several years. I really should get back to it. There is something special about looking through a scrapbook. It's not like flipping through a photo album, which is just photos shoved into a book. Whereas a scrapbook is so much more, it's more like telling a story about a life, or place or family holiday, or a pet. You've done a beautiful job of sharing a little bit of who your mom was with your boys. Update on me, I have to get an MRI on my leg. My doc thinks this issue may be unrelated to the fall I took back in April. It might be a varicose vein issue or possibly blood clot, which I pray to God it is not. Needless to say, we, you and I are sitting in the same boat waiting to get answers to our health issues. Take care of yourself and have a joyful and blessed weekend Barbie. xx

Oh, a beautiful page for a beautiful mother! You know, why can't scrapbook pages morph into collage pages. A lot of people create collage pages that are the same size as scrapbook pages. I think scrapbook pages don't have to be just for scrapbookers. LOVED the photos of your dad! WoW, can you image that artwork done by hand?! All that lettering, which I love. What a talented family. Again, so lucky, you. And we were state neighbors. I grew up in CT, 34 miles from downtown Manhattan. Are you going to attach a piece of paper to the back of that lovely page so future generations won't lose memories. My brother-in-law scanned all the family photos into PowerPoint & included the history of each photo while my in-laws were alive to remember people no one had met or had forgotten. It took a LOT of time, but so worth it. My family did not do that & how I wished we had.
Oh, Penny ....... what your bother in law did was amazing and yes, tons of work but how lucky for all of you now. Yes, I'll add history to the back, that is a fantastic idea, one I never thought of. Usually, I put all text on the corresponding side but I really like your idea as well. My dad's penmanship was beyond beautiful ...... back in the day ( 1920's) they taught children how to write in beautifiul cursive. It's now a lost art. I have letters from his sister who passed away when she was 10 years old, in 1921, and her penmanship was gorgeous. My dad was only 1 yo when she passed away. That's where the Ruth comes from in my name, Nellie and Ruth Designs. A whole other story. TFW and have a really great weekend.

My brother was an engineer & as soon as I saw his block engineering printing, I started printing everything from 7th grade on & never looked back. My mother, poor thing. We all called her handwriting "chicken scratch." My best friend's (also wonderful writing) mom still has her beautiful penmanship at 94! Yes, it didn't matter the age, if one was lucky to have received those penmanship lessons in school, it remained a skill for life. I WAS wondering why the 'and Ruth' was chosen. How sad for him, but what a lovely tribute. Wonderful weekend to you!

I hope I am not reading between the lines to some bad news but you did sounds a bit ominous. 🤨 The collage was lovely, not only in visual beauty but in sentiment. I have been getting family photos together as well. My Dad who is 82 finally parted with them. He just had the photos in a box and would take them out to look at them. I convinced him to let me have the photos to scrapbook. It's an undertaking for sure but I am up to the challenge. Keep the ideas coming. Be well. 🤗

My mom had all her photos in a couple shoe boxes under the eaves and she'd break then out every now and then to take a look.
