Jeanty was close because (a) a lot of Deion haters exist among the media space that has several hundred votes (and consists of the vast majority of the votes to be had); and (b) a ton of people, who have ideas in their mind of what a Heisman trophy winner is supposed to look like, did not see a player on a three-loss team that didn't make the playoffs as worthy.
A guy whose name will be associated with both the Biletnikoff and the Bednarik trophies for the same season should be an absolute shoo-in for the Heisman. I am glad the right guy was chosen, but the vote really should not have been that close. What we witnessed this season with Hunter was special.
Mr. Harris stay bitter. Jeanty is amazing, but so is Travis. So, is Cam Ward. And please ppl make up your mind. I thought the media hated Coach Prime thus he was the reason Shedeur wasn't considered, now Travis won because of Coach Prime popularity. Travis won on his talent....stop it.

I don't even believe this dude is an analyst. Jeanty is having a nice season. But don't compare this season to Barry Sanders. Had Jeanty broke Barry's record in the regular season. He still would have needed an extra game to do it. The fact that if Jeanty gets the record. It will be in 14 games and still short of stats Barry should be given credit for. 11 Games, that's what Barry gets credit for. It's not even something he should get credit for to the point of getting a Heisman. It's just garbage to even say it. Travis Hunter is top 3-5 in 2 positions. The votes shouldn't even have been close. This guy is really saying a guy that is a first round pick at 2 positions should not be the Heisman winner. And he documented that on video.
This is a slap in the face to college football and all the past Heisman trophy winners. Travis Hunter did not deserve to win this award and only did because the media has been over hyping him all season. Ashton Jeanty is the best player at his position while Travis Hunter is not even in the top 5 at either position he plays. People need to stop handing him everything just because he plays two ways.

Travis is changing the way players and coaches are approaching the game. Jenty is great, but what has he possibly changed about the way the game is approached. Imagine Jenty taking snaps at cornerback.
