Princess Poppy crochet hat/wig

Welcome back, enjoy me as I make my princess poppy crochet hat. size 1-3 years old.
Materials needed:
5.0mm crochet hook
4 medium weight yarn
●hot pink
●baby pink
●green
●small amount of blue
cat brush with metal teeth
yarn needle
scissors
flowers (available @mariaheartsyarn.etsy.com)
hot glue gun (optional)

What is the best yarn to use for this? I used a brand from Michael’s and I cannot get it to brush out and look right

Medium #4 weight acrylic yarn, red heart yarn has works great.
