Nice work, Dan! I wasn't really a fan of Peter Jackson's movies, but I did think Ian McKellan owned the role of Gandalf. I appreciate the tip on keeping the focus on the eyes and face. It's easy to get caught up in the other details, but the expression tells a lot of the story. Nice little blending tool there, too. I always just used a Kleenex, but your blender is pretty slick. :-)
Hey Dan thanks for these videos. If I can request a video of how you creat comic pages starting from a script to drawing the comic. Would love to see the creative process. Thanks for these great videos.
The interesting thing is, I'm so much faster with paper! Not sure why, but that's the case! I could do this on my tablet, but it would double the time. Go figure! 🤔
I really enjoy the paper way. I'm not really into the computer Pad drawing. There's something about it that is fantastic. It might be because it is from someone's mind, and made real, where as the computer it doesn't feel that way.
Real time drawing! Love it.
Performing without a net!!! Of course, I should really do this live to be truly brave! 😄
I always loved John Howe's renditions of Gandalf.
Oh, I agree! He is outstanding!!
Hey, thanks for the portrait, Mr Lawlis!

Thanks Tony! The blending tool is good, but tissue, and even blending with a finger works!!

I like that idea!! Thank you!
Hey! The traditional way! 😂 I like seeing how you draw, and other guys on RUclips. I find it better to learn.

YOU SHALL NOT PASS... without hitting the like button!🧙🏼♂️
😃 Thanks Aric!!!
Any thoughts on trying other famous literary characters? Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan, John Carter? Could be fun. Thought I'd throw it out there. :-)
Yes!!! And I would add Doc Savage to that list!! Maybe The Shadow too!
@@danlawlis Oh, for sure! Either, or both, would be great fun.
The Bakshi vibes were great before you realized it was feeling Bakshi.
All those influences are floating around in me!! 😀
