Just wanted to comment about how this completely removed the Enterprise Samsung Knox (aka CellWe IAM & EMM) factory reset prevention. We removed many phones from the system and let our license run out, those that were not unenrolled within that window were stuck with it - unable to update, remove, factory reset. This surprisingly did the trick!!
1. Connect phone to PC 2. Place Simple Factory Reset.apk in the phone's storage 3. Install Simple Factory Reset.apk 4. Open Simple Factory Reset 5. Click reset 5. Wait until you see a message that says something like "not allowed to shut down" 6. Once you see that restart the phone (hold: volume down, volume up, power and home button) 7. As soon as phone goes black, boot into recovery (hold power, volume up, and home button) 8. Let phone reset Done, phone will restart and retail mode is no more. This works on all samsung, ive tested it myself on s4, s5, s6, and s7 as well Google for Free Simple Factory Reset_v1.2.6_apkpure.com.apkUse this method :
Thanks man! Everyone who has a retail mode samsung tablet/phone, do what Smitty said. And just to clarify, you have to install Simple Factory Reset from the device. Also on step 7, you have to hold power+volup+home until it displays the android robot, otherwise it will boot back into the retail mode if you release too early.
my phone does'nt pop a message saying "not allowed to shut down" it just shutting down, and boot back up. and the retail mode is still there. i follow step 1 to 4, download the simple factory reset.apk through the phone browser, install it, open it, reset. what did i miss?
in theory, couldnt you use a strong magnent and pull off all the demo glue that binds the thing to the actual chip board, like how you can do that to a magnet strip on the back of a credit card or the same way with security tags inside electronics boxes that are sold so they dont beep at the register? in the stores the phones are tethered using that same technology and then its just cabled to the counter. since the phone cannot be opened up like old phones, it seems that transponder type devices is how the store employees are able to just remove it from a phone thats in their displays. i know that demo mode is applied after the phone is created, and not a part of its operating system. it seems like it can pulled off as well, no?

After the factory reset, simply reflash it with full stock firmware, and you'll be fine. By the way this is the easiest Retail/MDM to remove, other MDM locks do not even have a menu to enter a code in.
