Most of the seeds are planted I didn’t protect and unfortunately as you will see in the update quite a few of them were dug up and eaten or eaten after germination : )
You, Sir, are a hero. I am inspired and shall be following your example. Thank you. Just one question. In our area, guerilla-planted saplings without using a substantial tree guard are very vulnerable to being consumed by wild animals such as deer. Have you any thoughts on whether planting acorns direct might have a greater chance of survival?
Christopher X Awesome, do it! I haven’t decided about the tree guards, I know I ought to for maximum yield and will probably experiment in the spring by guarding half and leaving the others - I will let you know how it goes. Happy planting and for more inspiration check this out: ruclips.net/video/KTvYh8ar3tc/видео.html
Nice work Jamax! Pretty cool seeing that you've used very similar techniques to myself (water test, growing them in bags and bottles etc). I know life can get in the way, but I'd love to see your progress...if in about 5 years down the line on the seeds you planted in the groves, you could do another follow up video and see whether they're becoming established or not. Anyway, top work and please do continue the videos :) take care - Tom.
Hi Tom some reason I’ve only just seen your comment, sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you. I will definitely keep you updated and good work yourself. Stay safe : )
In autumn, some years there are many, other years there are none. Oaks and other species have ‘mast years’ in theory to keep populations of acorn eating things in check. You’ll be able to tell in the summer what is growing. They grow so easy
brilliant video
Thank you for documenting your process so well!
amazing viewing...please show us the progress of those trees you already planted!...Can't wait and see their progress...:-)

Is it possible to grow oak tree at a temperature of 20-30 degree Celsius
❤️
usually I would like this but not this time the ground is weed covered / rich flower diversity
great for insects poor soils best left unplanted
where do you get all the acorns from and when?
