My big brother introduced me to Coheed and Cambria, this was the first of their songs I heard and it blew my mind. Now he has passed, but always there with me for these melodic journeys..
I first heard this song on the 2003 Warped Tour Compilation CD. I listened to it over and over for like 2 days straight before I went out and bought In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, and then Second Stage Turbine Blade a few weeks later. At first I thought Delirium Trigger was written about one of my favorite movies of all time, Alien until I found out about The Bag Online Adventrures of Coheed and Cambria. As a lover of all things science fiction and epic, they became my favorite band.
TheJCBand learned about them two years back buddy of mine showed me the whole of the afterman and explained the story behind it to me briefly and they almost immediately became my favorite band also dude hell yeah alien is like the perfect fucking sci fi movie one of my favorites
That was my intro to Coheed. I listened to what they would have on PureVolume and once IV came out I went and bought all 3 cds at once. I remember thinking something was wrong with my copy of IKSSE3 when the beginning rang back out just to realize it was just a part of the song.
First for me was Everything Evil. I was blown away. Went to Sam the Record Man in Vernon BC the next day and bought SSTB and have been one among the fence ever since. These guys got me through every shitty thing in my life thus far.
I went to see Thrice in October of 2002 at a small club in Seattle and Coheed opened for them. My friends and I had never heard of them and when they ce out to set up and we saw Claudio's giant hair and flying V we all kind of thought we knew what thru would sound like, boy were we off haha. He opened his mouth for the first song and we were blown away, never expected that voice to come out of him. I bought this record and fell in Live with it. This song is still their best imo, it just speaks to me.
the amory wars is the story that is narrated in the songs which coheed and cambria plays. the books are great and are meant to be tools to help you interpret their songs so that you know what they sing about. so the amory wars isn't just the books; it's the songs. i think claudio mainly wanted the songs to be "the amory wars", but the songs are hard to interpret so he used books so people would understand them easier.
i love this song, its so awesome at like 3 AM when yur tired as shit, its so trippy :P but its always awesome.... just yet more awesome then, and thats hard to believe with how amazing it is to begin with
SSTB is their best album. I was just in toronto for their sstb tour at the kool haus. Best concert ive ever been to. I had the Fan VIP laminent. Met them after the show by their bus. They looked alittle tired or drunk or something but I got signatures. I stood in line for a while and my feet were killing me but it was worth it.
this was me... 1. Time Consumer: Holy Crap this is good! 2. Devil in Jersey City: Nice! 3. Everything Evil: DANG! 4. Delirium Trigger: HOLY F&%! S#!T THIS IS F#@&IN AMAZING!
My favorite song from these boys. I met one of Claudio's cousins on an elevator at the Egg in Albany after an Eric Johnson concert. I had no idea they were playing the same night. Eric was great though I would of preffered to catch them. Ex bought the tickets and hated Coheed. At least I saw Eric but I don't see her anymore
there's an alternate for Favor House also. it's an animated vid that kinda follows stuff in the story they scrapped it in favor of the other one. it's on youtube.
Making Amazing Music Is only one of Their Skills. But to able to make Amazing music like This and have an Entire story Follow It in the background, Simply Genius. Coheed Rox my sox! =]
Coheed and Cambria videos- -Delirium Trigger (I think there is 2 versions, it looks just like this one, but has a few different scenes, but basically the same video) -Devil In Jersey City -Devil In Jersey (Alternative) -A Favor House Atlantic -Blood Red Summer -Welcome Home -The Suffering -Ten Speed (Of God's Blood And Burial) -The Willing Well IV: The Final Cut -The Running Free -Feathers -Gravemakers & Gunslingers (There is also videos for Travis and Claudio's side projects)
I was 12 or 13,? My dad died of a heroin overdose - my mom has moved us into my grandma's house and I was sleeping on the couch, failing at school. I didn't give a fuck about anything except my cd player and my skateboard. I don't even know why I got the album, my god. Grabbed it from the store I think along with the system of a down album both had just come out. Time consumer, delirium trigger, everything evil changed my young life. And I was already aware of a broad range of music too. Had never heard anything like this before, shook me to my core. Emotion pouring off. Good god it's been over twenty years.
To make AFHA that is. Watch the "Making of" on the Blood Red Summer video (on the Starland DVD) Claudio mentions a strict budget, so i don't think they would have scrapped a video.
I'll have to look in to that. Also, since we've been talking about the Animated AFHA video on the Delirium Trigger video, I want to point out that I think this specfic version of this video is fan-made. There is another that has many of the same scenes that this one has and flows JUST like this one, except unlike this one, it doesn't have the annoying close ups of the eyeball and such and has extended scenes from this one.
Fan made or not, I would just like to mention that Coheed played the animated Favor House video on the projectors at all four Neverender gigs here in London.
@Coaler73 lol ok. I like both tool and c&c but i gotta say there's nothing difficult about 'making references to a concept'. Both bands do it. In CC case their lyrics are about what probably amounts to a substandard sci-fi story, and in tool's they are spiritual concepts. I admit some of tool's stuff seems a little cheezy, but its definitely a more mature concept than the amory wars or whatever.
i think lyrically this albu mwas by fa th best, he used such powerful phrases without automatically jumping to words that could be sometimes cliche or corny, he did that a few times on the new album (not that it isnt incredible) like in the flame error the first sentence is i hate everything im becoming, pretty emo ya know lol
@zavalael I LOVE the new album! :) Claud said they were going to make it sound more SSTB-ish and I think they did just that. He uses the high pitch alot and I know I heard shrieks here and there, overall chrises linear drumming with their guitar style is perfect for the new album.
@Coaler73 so does a concept have to be a story? I always thought what people meant by a concept album was just any sort of interaction between songs, musical, lyrical or otherwise. Like Tool's Parabol and Parabola for example, which have tons of musical and lyrical overlap. I do not think making continual references to a comic book is really an amazing concept. In fact, i have no doubt that Amory wars would be inconsequential if it werent for the robust soundtrack that backs it up.
I think it's been removed from youtube, but luckily i ripped it from youtube about a year ago in .FLV format (which means it's really awful quality). If anyone cares to see it (and can forgive the quality), comment here and I'll upload it.
@zrecer facebook search "in our vendetta" they're a local band from here that just needs a singer!! they're really good!! spread the word!! fyi i went to neverender and it kicked ass! if you like coheed this is definitely worth checking out!
@Coaler73 please explain the difference between a theme and a concept. p.s. intricacy is no indication of value. in fact if anything it just alienates people.
My big brother introduced me to Coheed and Cambria, this was the first of their songs I heard and it blew my mind. Now he has passed, but always there with me for these melodic journeys..
I love this! Music has a great way of transporting one back in time and conjuring up memories- both good and bad!
He's amongst the fence.
A journey with you and your brother forever.
Sorry for your loss, but music connects all of us, forever. Prayers to you and brother!
my big brother also showed me this band

TheJCBand yepppppp I was in 10th grade at the time. Still listening now🙏🏽
I also stumbled upon coheed through this Warped Tour 2003 comp CD ! Great song
That was my intro to Coheed. I listened to what they would have on PureVolume and once IV came out I went and bought all 3 cds at once. I remember thinking something was wrong with my copy of IKSSE3 when the beginning rang back out just to realize it was just a part of the song.
This song fits well with the theme of Alien.
23 years later and i finally stumble upon this video. nicce

First song I ever heard from back in ‘02 and have been hooked since. Fucking love this track and I miss their darker sound.
I went to see Thrice in October of 2002 at a small club in Seattle and Coheed opened for them. My friends and I had never heard of them and when they ce out to set up and we saw Claudio's giant hair and flying V we all kind of thought we knew what thru would sound like, boy were we off haha. one of my favorite coheed and cambria songs!
This has always been my favourite song by Coheed man...
It's an absolutely awesome, terror filled, mind bending journey of paranoia and madness. I love it!

Forever my favorite band, something about their progression just makes it better and better, plus his voice is AMAZING!
I never knew there was an official video for this song! Wow!
sameee
SAME! I never looked for it though. BUT STILL.
the amory wars is the story that is narrated in the songs which coheed and cambria plays. the books are great and are meant to be tools to help you interpret their songs so that you know what they sing about.

my favorite coheed song!!!
God I miss this Coheed. So raw, so real.
I feel shitty forgetting about this song.going on my playlist
i love this song, its so awesome at like 3 AM when yur tired as shit, its so trippy :P but its always awesome.... just yet more awesome then, and thats hard to believe with how amazing it is to begin with
best song Coheed and Cambria has ever done
Song still hits hard, one of their best
SSTB is their best album. I was just in toronto for their sstb tour at the kool haus. Best concert ive ever been to. I had the Fan VIP laminent. Met them after the show by their bus. I remember being 13, 2003, taking this song so fucking seriously! OHDEARGOD I DON'T FEEL ALIIIIIIIVE
My soul is still 13 in 2003.
the middle of the song reminds me of Trivium "Holy Tears"
I really like it.
this was me...
1. Time Consumer: Holy Crap this is good!
2. Devil in Jersey City: Nice!
3. Everything Evil: DANG!
4. Delirium Trigger: HOLY F&%! S#!T THIS IS F#@&IN AMAZING!
Holy fucking shit. Exactly the same for Me.
sstb reigns supreme even all these years later
they're all so young it's trippy...it was almost ten years ago though so it shouldnt trip me out that much but it does
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Holy moly never really realized how deep the lyrics are..
I don't think that they're that deep. They're only part of The Amory wars
10th grade I was introduced this masterpiece 🖤🖤😩

My favorite song from these boys. I met one of Claudio's cousins on an elevator at the Egg in Albany after an Eric Johnson concert. I had no idea they were playing the same night. Eric was great though I would of preffered to catch them. Ex bought the tickets and hated Coheed. At least I saw Eric but I don't see her anymore

Good god it's been over twenty years.
I love Coheed and this is one of their better videos. :)
All these years later it’s still hard to believe Claudio and the band made all these songs just for me
To make AFHA that is. Watch the "Making of" on the Blood Red Summer video (on the Starland DVD) Claudio mentions a strict budget, so i don't think they would have scrapped a video.
Thank you, Claudio Sanchez, for making such epic music. You seriously fill my life with happiness:)
So glad he's back! :D
@zrecer already went to the one in starland! SO. EPIC.
I'll have to look in to that.
Also, since we've been talking about the Animated AFHA video on the Delirium Trigger video, I want to point out that I think this specfic version of this video is fan-made. @brandpanz thats because his hair was shorter and be had it in kind of like a ponytail
Sammy • David ❤
Come know Me in a different Light now.
Come know Me as God!🔥👑
Claudio looks a lot like Cedric from The Mars Volta in this video when his hair was Afro-like. And that's not a bad thing! :D
They had me Delirium Trigger

This would be the perfect soundtrack to deadspace
Pretty sure it was highly inspired by Alien and other sci fi, just like the whole Amory wars! Its awesome
@@SanguineThor DUDE I was saying this in high school! The first verse is literally perfectly describing a scene in Dead Space
@@SanguineThor Yeah Claudio said he basically wrote the lyrics about alien. "Parasitic cyst I cant stand to watch it coming up and out of your chest"
Did I just see a worm goin' up a vadge? One more reason to like this band.
same
@Coheed2Zero Me too! But 2 hours! :P
@redvrszach2009 actually in an interveiw they said the night before the concert they eat chicken
i dont know, some people who posted it say its fan made, and the only character that looks like hes actually from the story in that is claudio
OMG so good.
Thank you!!!
+1
