Joe Satriani is always talked top 5 guitarists, but what makes him, without a doubt, the #1 guitarist alive is his PURE CLASS. He DOES what all great musicians should DO.....leave his ego on the stage.
Man, when I was growing up and discovering the likes of Satriani and then Vai and then Petrucci .... I couldn't in my wildest dreams see them each working together and becoming firm friends - it's just a dream come true watching these guys get along. Phil seems such a wonderful fellow, by the way.
Pyromania introduced me in hard rock zone, back in 1984-85, after that followed World wide live, Live after death, Master of Puppets,.... All great albums.
John Petrucci has some killer songs under his belt too (that's an understatement to be honest... Songs like Glasgow Kiss, Damage Control, Lost Without You are phenomenal, not to mention DT's and LTE's stellar catalogue.) Satch and Phil.. You guys should have mentioned some of JP's hits.
John Petrucci, Phil Collen have Stainless Steel frets on all their signature guitars. Can’t wait for Satch one tonne updated as Ibanez AZ feature them as major improvement
In order: 1) No hair, age, guitarist generation, 2) Middle hair, age, guitarist generation, 3) Much hair, age, guitarist generation, All, the representation of excelent productions, fit & health, .... :) Excellent work for these G3.
Hah nah that a load of shit Chase. Dude really feels alot of the stuff he's playing, have you heard Images and Words/Scenes From a Memory? That has some beautiful solos on it.
Why is not Jeff Loomis on the G3? (aside from his commitments to Arch Enemy at present) Rusty Coolidge? Chris Impellitteri? Michael Romeo? Carl Johan Grimmark? Marty Friedman? Tony MacAlpine? (who did play with Vai; and ......... Loomis) Ideas for the future Joe .. Imagine Conquering Dystopia on the G3 tour!

Honestly, AE is an insult to Jeff's complete repertoire .. Yes, he is a "shredder" .. Probably one the top 10 in the world .. He is also a master, master "riff miester" .. In fact, he probably riffs faster than most can play lead .. Just do a little more; just a teeny, tiny bit more research here .. Perhaps he should call up Friedman, Cooley,, and MacAlpine .. Which I do love all of them, and have been to multiple G3s over the years .. On top of their solo concerts and associative bands ..
Always going on about Hendrix pffff...The guy wouldn't have been able to play EVH "Spanish fly" if he could have live any longer.I agree with SRV,Jeff Beck, and i would have mentioned EVH and Michael Schenker. Now w're talking guitar! Hi from France :)
Phil collen n’est pas un grand guitariste.. il serres sur 3 cordes!!.. regardez son jeu!.. c’est une grande blague !!.. satriani fait dans l’humanitaire en le faisant venir!!..
Let’s see you play better oh also it’s easier to shred on the last 3 strings then it is the first 3 and most shredding is done on the last 3 strings so stop complaining
IMO , Phil totally deserves to be part of this company of guys etc . I'm glad to see him doing this .
OnfloorAudio such a warm person
This is Joe's project and he decides who should be included.
Three awesome human beings...so huge is their fame yet down to earth attitude...
Joe Satriani is always talked top 5 guitarists, but what makes him, without a doubt, the #1 guitarist alive is his PURE CLASS.

Shame Malmsteen never learnt how to do that 😅

Voldemort, Quirrell, and Hagrid.
@Timothy Terrance you’re exactly right lol. Nobody cares
Satch seems like such a cool dude
OK so why am I watching a video that is nearly 3 years old?????? Whatever.. Love these guys! Sure wish we could go see G3 right now!
THREESOME OF GORGEOUS SHREDDERS!! GENTS I AM HONOURED. YOU SHRED SO BEAUTIFULLY! BRAVO AND THANK YOU 😁💚
Petrucci looking at Satch in total awe and respect! Such great guys !All big influences on me!

Pyromania introduced me in hard rock zone, back in 1984-85, after that followed World wide live, Live after death, Master of Puppets,.... All great albums.
My daughters joke “what do guitars eat for breakfast?” “Ampples” 😂😂😂😂
love these guys
Seeing and hearing Photograph for the first time made me want to pick up the guitar.
You should watch the movie "Hysteria: The Def Lappard Story", if you haven't seen it yet:

2019!! Hell yea!!
Phil mentioned John Norum 20:35
one of the most underrated fine guitar player
Nah, in my ears Norum is just a Gary Moore clone
I missed the tour this year but these guys are the definition of cool. What a contrast to the current commercial music nonsense.
John Petrucci has some killer songs under his belt too (that's an understatement to be honest... Songs like Glasgow Kiss, Damage Control, Lost Without You are phenomenal, not to mention DT's and LTE's stellar catalogue.)
Satch and Phil.. You guys should have mentioned some of JP's hits.
joe wears Arc'teryx jacket..pretty cool..oh, and I believe this is the first time I saw him without glasses
I was watching this for about 3mins until then i realized that something is missing...ohh i forgot to put on my headphones
Got married to always with you, always with me also!
Phil Collen...seems to be the nicest..down to earth guy
John Petrucci, Phil Collen have Stainless Steel frets on all their signature guitars. Can’t wait for Satch one tonne updated as Ibanez AZ feature them as major improvement
No mention of Glasgow Kiss
John stole joe's hair
Omg i was going to say similar 😂
@@mplayer46 Osama bin Laden
such a nice discussion 😂
Portnoy is on JP's new solo album!
we're all getting so old
In order:

Excellent work for these G3.
Can someone give me the link of G3 2018
Neither Joe or Phil mention their favourite Petrucci song? Good interviewer tho, good questions.
Mine is DAMAGE CONTROL
Glasgow Kiss
Zero tolerance for it never been recorded in studio
Joe and Phil, in the thumbnail, looked exactly the same.
This interviewer does not know G3 each guitarist has their won band. Not surprised, he keeps referring to his helpsheet.
Petruci talks about Rolex watch Joe: PURPLE HAT
No love for favorite song of Petrucci's? Come on Joe and Phil...
They really should show JP some love. C'mon! 😑
John Petrucci barely talked during the interview
yeah.. he is man of action
John Petrucci is technically gifted but he lacks musicality. He just runs random scales up and down.
Hah nah that a load of shit Chase. Dude really feels alot of the stuff he's playing, have you heard Images and Words/Scenes From a Memory? That has some beautiful solos on it.
@@chaseheatwole2213 u have no idea what u r talking about.

What the actual is Collen doing there?
collen, a 'massive shredder'?...stop!
The interviewer talks way to much. Criticism ment in a constructive way: Interviewer, talk less next time.
