Joe Satriani is always talked top 5 guitarists, but what makes him, without a doubt, the #1 guitarist alive is his PURE CLASS.
He DOES what all great musicians should DO.....leave his ego on the stage.

Man, when I was growing up and discovering the likes of Satriani and then Vai and then Petrucci .... I couldn't in my wildest dreams see them each working together and becoming firm friends - it's just a dream come true watching these guys get along. Phil seems such a wonderful fellow, by the way.

John Petrucci has some killer songs under his belt too (that's an understatement to be honest... Songs like Glasgow Kiss, Damage Control, Lost Without You are phenomenal, not to mention DT's and LTE's stellar catalogue.)
Satch and Phil.. You guys should have mentioned some of JP's hits.

Why is not Jeff Loomis on the G3?
(aside from his commitments to Arch Enemy at present)
    Rusty Coolidge?
    Chris Impellitteri?
    Michael Romeo?
    Carl Johan Grimmark?
    Marty Friedman?
Tony MacAlpine? (who did play with Vai; and ......... Loomis)
Ideas for the future Joe ..
Imagine Conquering Dystopia on the G3 tour!

    • @fooser77
      @fooser77 7 лет назад

I going to have to suggest you do not know a thing about Loomis ..
He is not just a "shredder" ..
In fact, he hates that term ..
      ruclips.net/video/GvGuv6EEABk/видео.html
      Loomis is a songwriter ..
As much as a riffmaster and songwriter as Impelliterri, et al ..
Romeo is also an accomplished riffmeister and songwriter ..
Malsteem when on the G3, played and SANG .........
      Hendricks ..
(and I saw him on the G3, with Vai, and Satch)
These guys grew up on Hendricks, Clapton, May, and Scholz ..
Please do a little more homework!
I actually met Dave Murray in Austin, on Sixth Street ..
At a BLUES bar! (yes, the guy really loves and plays [well] the blues)
After a concert I attended at the Irwin Center ("Somewhere in Time" tour) ..
The same blues bar (no longer there) that I met Yngwie in person ..
Listen to the solos in "Your Poison Throne," "The Blue Marble," and "She Comes in Colors;" all off of The Obsidian Conspiracy ..
Tell me what you hear ..
Oh, and do ask both Marty and Tony what they think of Jeff ..
Ask Rusty [Coolidge] what he thinks of Jeff ..
      Ask Chris Broderick ..
      Ask Dave Mustaine ..
Do dare ask Satch, Vai (who played with Tony), and Petrucci ..
What they really think of Jeff ..
And do it both on 6 and 7 strings ..
      Jeff is NOT a god!
But after a listen to "Jato Unit" ..
      Well, you decide ..

    • @fooser77
      @fooser77 6 лет назад

He is much more that that ..
Do a little more research ..
      He is a multi-instrumentalist ..
      He is a songwriter ..
And doesn't do just -- metal!
If you have ever listened to Nevermore's catalog ..
They were not just your average "metal" band ..
I would say that challenged the generic description of metal ..
And Loomis was their chief songwriter from inception to end ..
Again, do you own research and stop listening what others say about ..
      "others" ..
      I challenge you this ..
Listen to these two solos from Nevermore's crowning achievement ..
Tell me what "influences" do you hear here ..
      ruclips.net/video/mHb4DhNk8HI/видео.html
      ruclips.net/video/F2tIEKv2Dbk/видео.html
On this album, it is ALL Loomis ..
All guitar, all music composition ..
Lyrics are done exclusively by Dane ..
Seriously dude, you are trying convince me and others ..
That you do NOT wish to hear "Jato Unit" on the G3?!?
      ruclips.net/video/tvfg0iLnzsw/видео.html
This is guy is not just a "hired gun" for Arch Enemy ..
Honestly, AE is an insult to Jeff's complete repertoire ..
Yes, he is a "shredder" ..
Probably one the top 10 in the world ..
He is also a master, master "riff miester" ..
In fact, he probably riffs faster than most can play lead ..
Just do a little more; just a teeny, tiny bit more research here ..
Perhaps he should call up Friedman, Cooley,, and MacAlpine ..
And do their own "G3/G4" ..
Bring in Yngwie, Poland, or Kiko ..
And call it the "G5" ..
There is more than just Satch, Vai, and Pettrucci out there ..
Which I do love all of them, and have been to multiple G3s over the years ..
On top of their solo concerts and associative bands ..
