A little late but I really feel like Duffus is gonna impact off the bench today. I feel like all the academy talk in the podcast gave me hope that one of them will step up! Haven’t seen him a lot since the Europa league so hopefully he gets his opportunity!

Brighton lost two Premier League matches in a row last year in October shortly after RDZ was hired (to the Spurs and Brentford). They've otherwise had a win or a draw after every loss.

Here's a question . . . Take any team, at any level, and sell, or lose through injury, their entire first 11 plus half of the bench (except, maybe, for one centre back) plus the possibility of losing the manager who has created the recent phenomenal success and ask the question 'Is it reasonable to expect the success to continued?

To be devil advocate, shouldn’t they have planned for this. It was obvious we would lose alexis and Moises. We knew we were thin in full backs, we knew afcon and Asian cup was coming, and we had aging and injury prone players.
Football, and fandom, Are very reactionary and your can’t account for some things

@@UCNTZ True, but we also sold the left back and right back to Chelsea and Newcastle. And the left winger to Arsenal (having just got a hat trick against Liverpool). and the previous right back to Arsenal. And the defensive midfield to Spurs. And a striker to Everton. And the Spanish national goalkeeper to Chelsea. (To name but a few)

@@dacutler a lot of those player im guessing you probably weren’t sad when they left: Dan burn, neal mupey, our 3rd choice keeper and bissoma (for non footballing reasons)
Still being devil advocate, we knew we needed player in some of those positions even before selling. If we only have one proper left back, chance are he’ll be over run with games and will need a break. And with Moises it a downfall of our own success and Chelsea being rash, you can’t not turn down 120m especially when the player asking to leave. You’d imagine the club to get another 2-5 years from him before selling
I do prefer the current model of waiting and going for ‘our guy’ as opposed to the Chelsea way of buying the new shiney player. And hoping with time some of the fringe player like belaba develops fully (and we’re in a position to keep hold of them)

@@UCNTZ The irony is Burn now plays for a recently, revitalised Newcastle, Trossard and White play for a team that is vying for winning the league, as is Bissouma. Cucurella left Brighton as the player of the year, and, of course, Mac Allister is one of the reasons Liverpool are once again top.
I agree it's peeving that rich clubs like Chelsea seem to have abandoned a recruiting process and is effectively opting for paying fortunes for tried and tested players. That strikes me as being a bit too cowardly and doesn't progress the game as a whole. Remember when City used to have a strong process for moving players through the ranks, and, of course teams like Southampton provided extremely important players to the 'big teams? Southampton used to be called the Man Utd / Liverpool nursery. Come to think of it, one of Liverpool's arguably best centre halves came from Brighton too. Mark Lawrenson

Losing faith in Ferguson. Hasn't scored since November. I question his physicality and mental toughness. Palace scares me because we can bat the ball around and get 75% possession and then out of nowhere Olise or Eze scores on the counter.
Negative Sally? I used to date her. 😂 2-0 BHA

Don’t lose faith, he’s a youngest what the media hyped to hell. It’s going to get too him. Physically and mental toughness are traits you shouldn’t expect to be fully finshed at a player his age. Agree he’s not been great atm tho and I would sell him if a good offer came in

He's not playing mate. Put in the best all round striker performance ive seen this season against Sheff Utd and was back on the bench against Luton. Has started 11 prem games scoring 6 goals, no service and the goals all his own work. He's got the 5th best XG of any player in the prem proving my point. All the top strikers in prem play every week...Hojlund, Solanke, Isak etc etc. DZ a big issue and Fergie WILL leave at end of season. Put it this way...he plays 90 against Palace and he scores 100% prob more than one. But DZ wont do it.
