On our wedding day, I told my wife that she must keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry done and a hot meal on the table every day. The 1st day I didn't see anything, the 2nd day nothing, but the 3rd day most of the swelling had gone down and I could see a little out of my left eye, enough to fix myself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher and mow the lawn.

There's no need to even go to the cops ... any man who is a true friend would simply offer to knock such a stupid fucking idea out of his buddy's head, right there and then, with a barrage of swift & necessarily brutal punches. This healthy reaction threatening instant remedial violence would most likely help the buddy realise the gravity of his error, sincerely repent & apologise, so instead of having to follow through they'd then shake hands and go have a beer together, putting the distasteful interlude behind them, and nobody need get murdered, locked up or executed. Any man would appreciate having such a tight friend ready & willing to do exactly what it takes to save them even from their own worst impulses in an hour of weakness, and would later thank them for the (sobering offer of a) salutary beat-down. Case closed.

@@wolfeyeforever I am not sure what this comment is trying to prove. I am just stating what I would do if someone whom I know would do the same thing. I would do anything to prevent someone from murdering someone else that I knew or know. I do not care how bad things are, murdering someone is not the solution. I do not care if you are white, black, brown, purple or pink, I will defend anyone I need to.

@@foobarrel9046 I disagree, informing the police is the best option imo. I don’t think beating someone down is going to change their minds. If someone is willing to find a hitman for someone they love they can do the same for you. Going to the police could save someone from dying and another from spending life in prison. But I see what you’re saying although I don’t think that would’ve worked in this particular case.

This is my recurrent thought as well, as I watch this trial. Perhaps I am far more ignorant of human nature than I would like to think, but I have serious problems wrapping my head around the possibility that there are so many people out there who would do things like approach a friend about murdering your wife -- or that there would be so many people who would actually be available for some contract killer work, that you need only request a friend to ask around and see if they could locate someone.
A close second in terms of recurrent thoughts as I watch this trial, is why the huge density of similar-looking bald White guys surrounding a single case? Everyone from the codefendants, to the defense counsel, to the detectives working the case... It's bizarre.

Rodgers was stupid. First of all, he took his own cell phone even though Wright told him not to. He brought a GPS Wright didn’t want to use bc it could give their position away, but Wright set it up, and then used a stupid Bluetooth connection, which would be easy for the cops to trace if they got his phone. Then, Rodgers was determined to go to Walmart bc money was burning a hole in his pocket. He also apparently thought this was a vacation, bc he wanted to get a souvenir for his girlfriend. Rodgers even held on to the famous blue suits, rather than dumping them somewhere along the way home! I guess he also wanted a souvenir! THEN he spilled the whole story to his girlfriend, and all she had to do to get him to spill was to tell him she thought he was involved in the murder, and made her go with him to dump the suits and the burner phone. She turned around and told the Florida detectives, and led them to the dumped evidence, and the detectives then interrogated him several times and tried to get him to cut a deal. Rodgers wasn’t smart enough to do that, apparently not recognizing that he was screwed.
So do you want to tell me again why Wright is a “piece of work,” and how he threw Rodgers under the bus?? Wright obviously felt he owed Rodgers no loyalty, since he’s the one who made sure they got caught in the first place! He realized that Rodgers had screwed the pooch for both of them pretty badly, so he might as well save himself if he could....why would anybody blame him?? And Rodgers had ample opportunity to throw Wright first, but repeatedly declined. He effed up so badly, he deserved to get crushed by the bus!

I'm at work right now and I was a friend of Teresa the murder victim she was also my Dr. When I was 22 years old for years almost up until she died. I hate watching them talk about her. She was so kind and wonderful! It was Mark Sievers who murdered his wife. Yes he coerced these men and I cannot believe they actually could do it! She was so tiny like 4 ft 7? She was so kind to me!!!! She prayed with me and she was just an angel of a person and you killed her brutally with a hammer! But if you are seeking for the real devil behind this tragedy it is Mark Sievers, Unquestionably. Without Mark my friend would still be alive. These men are just wicked fools. Nevertheless to be able to kill the beautiful doll that Teresa was is unbelievable. How could they do it?!!!! They killed my dear friend with a hammer. I hate them for it! But I will forgive them. Because forgiveness sets me free not my enemy. And because I refuse to be a slave of hatred for the rest of my life dominated by an evil act of foolish men. And quite simply because Teresa would not have wanted me to live for the rest of my life in hatred. Nevertheless Mark is the author and I met him once in passing at her office in Estero but only for an instant. How could he do it?! Teresa was not wicked or cruel! I don't belive she would have ever hurt her girls. We knew immediately that someone very close to her had set it up because she was ambushed in her own home the moment she flew into town! They were waiting for her in her house. Every time they speak her name a sharpness touches me. Teresa always answered her phone and always was so kind even when I called late she was an angel. I can't believe they could bring themselves to hurt her! This was extremely hard to listen to but I am. They were not very smart were they? But I'm glad they got caught! But it doesn't bring her back. Did her soul not concern them at all????? We all miss you dearly Teresa. I wish we had known. Unbelievable. This was terribly painful to hear. I feel like I should've been there for her. I wasn't far away I just didn't know.

Wow! You’re certainly emotionally invested in this! Wright had every right to cut a deal, since it was Rodgers’ series of f-ups that got them arrested in the first place. He told his girlfriend everything and got her to go with him to dispose of his burner phone, jumpsuit, and gloves, and she turned around and went to the police, which was the right thing to do, but she gave officers pretty much everything they needed. So Rodgers essentially sold Wright out first. Rodgers was told by Wright to leave his cell phone home so it couldn’t be traced...he didn’t. He had to go to Walmart for beach gear and a souvenir for his girlfriend, so they were placed at the scene in the surveillance video. Not only that, but Rodgers was interrogated before Wright, and could have cut his own deal any time he wanted to. He didn’t! There are others ways Rodgers screwed the pooch, as well. I don’t really care one way or the other, but the facts of the case are the facts of the case, and I can totally understand why Wright decided to get a deal.

He had told her things about the murder, and took her along to help him get rid of some evidence and she was really afraid of him. She spoke up anyway, and then the detectives talked to Rodgers, so he could have grabbed the deal first, but didn’t. Wright is a lot more intelligent and realized they had him, so he decided to give it up. Rodgers was stupid not to see the writing on the wall.

With the promise of some insurance money later on (yes sure, not even in movies does it work any longer). A person who has the gall to keep asking for “loans” he doesn’t intend to pay back isn’t a friend, he’s a USER, and he sees you as his personal ATM; real friends would never be so lacking of a moral compass. When family members or friends have asked if I’d lend them money, they knew the expectation was that they would pay me back. But I always secretly put the loan down to a gift so that there wouldn’t be hard feelings if they didn’t pay me back. If they didn’t pay me, and they actually had the nerve to come to ask for another loan, I have always said, “We’ll talk about another loan when you pay back the money you already owe me.” That’s usually the end of any requests for money, and typically the end of the relationship, bc the person wasn’t comfortable knowing that I knew what they really thought of me.

And yet he is literally a monster.
I can't get my mind around it.
I'm a retired RN who worked for a few years in Psychiatry here in Canada.
Back then, in the 80s, 90s, even 2000s, we nurses didn't sue or have patients charged with assault when we were assaulted.
I was attacked by a few patients like tens of thousands of us.
Thankfully, I was never seriously hurt.
But none of these patients was EVER like this pile of garbage: cool, calm and collected, apparently a doting family man...
He is truly terrifying because he has no apparent rage, no aggression, no verbal clues that he may attack at any moment.

What I don’t understand or don’t get in trials is what the hell the accuser’s personal life got anything to do with a murder! In this case, when the accuser was asked at what time he got married, who the attendants were, at what time was the wedding, blah blah blah…..what is the relevance??? What relevance a friggin wedding, the timing, the guests in attendance has anything to do with a murder??? No wonder trials last so long and costs so much because the unnecessary and stupid questioning of lawyers in my opinion. Certain things doesn’t have any relevance whatsoever to a murder trial. I am glad that I am a law abiding citizen and no one has ever asked me to be involved in murdering someone……because to begin with, I will never, ever help anyone to commit murder, or be part of a cover up, or to help someone hide evidences or move a body, etc. etc. and number two, I choose my friends very carefully and I am very “picky or choosy” as to who my friends are. I have to know the kind of people that I socialize with and who they are. But in court? Once you are in a court of law? Your damn life is exposed to everyone and to the world, and the nitty gritty stuff is made public. I go to bed at night very happy and peacefully knowing I did good deeds. This is my opinion, anyway.

“Should HAVE thought of your new wife,” btw. Well, I’m going to tell you something: Wright and his wife were cold stone broke all the time, and their respective parents actually had to pay for their groceries a lot of the time (I read this in an interview Wright’s mother-in-law gave to a local paper). Sievers knew how hard up Wright was and that he was on disability, not that there are any great jobs in rural Missouri anyway, and he thought he would suggest pots of money at a psychological moment when Wright was probably wondering how in hell everything the wedding was costing was going to get paid for. I’m sure Sievers spent a lot of time in the run up to the wedding manIpulating Wright by telling him what a great friend he was and how grateful he was for his friendship and crap like that to try to build up some loyalty. It sucks, and it’s a tragedy for poor Teresa Sievers and their children, but sociopaths are great manipulators, and they know a great victim when they see one.

Violet Mullikin ... Curtis Wright was already a “church going” person...to some extent. Not sure where he stood on his “salvation” but I’d be willing to bet that he understood “from the teachings of christianity” that from the onset of considering to perform this murder and aside from being $50k richer that he may have thought he’d be able to live with his actions if he at some point in time, after committing the murder, he’d be able to ask God to forgive him of this crime. Now...depending on whatever his relationship with Jesus Christ was “before” the murder, he may have realized that to receive Christ’s forgiveness he would have to accept the consequences of his sin (the murder). I may be completely off base but I think to some extent I’m right and I say that because anyone can tell how open, sincere and truthful he is in his testimony. He did not dodge any of the prosecutors questions concerning his involvement in the murder and the “detail” to which he testified (in Jimmy’s trial) he also “detailed” in the trial of the Dr. Sievers husband.

I’m sure you remember the “truth in sentencing” movement in the mid 90s, bc parole boards were corrupt and let sex offenders and murderers out long before they met their parole dates (as in “40 years to life,” you’re not up for parole until you’ve served 39 or 40 years), and bc judges were wildly inconsistent with sentencing, giving minorities life and nice white gentlemen 15 years, for the same capital crime. People became outraged, when their daughters’ murderers were let out after 12 years of a 60 year sentence, and when the survivors weren’t notified before the hearing so they could be heard. As a result of the national outrage, we now pretty much have uniform sentencing guidelines from state to state for capital crimes, which is automatically either life without parole or death (in those states) when a person is found guilty of first or even second degree murder. I’m sorry to go on so long, but it’s not something that’s easy to explain!

This judge, at the end of this video is talking about taking a recess or stopping for the day. He then says "IRREGARDLESS..."!😳 Shouldn't he, of all people in that room, know that isn't a real word?! Come on now; do better🙁

Well, Wright did computer programming etc., and when personal computers weren’t readily available to most people (in the 1990s, for example), universities didn’t offer degree programs for computer science. That’s what Wright was talking about. So he meant he did the liberal arts requirements, got interested in computers and learned on his own. When classes did become available, you had to go to a technical college.

Interesting that they have the defendant come up to the bench when the lawyers talk to the judge.
    Never have seen that before.

It's in Florida right ? Not much 'normal' in Fl.
      I know this isn't criminal, but ...
I managed to get myself divorced in a Florida court from a different continent [Cymru / Wales] via Skype with a creative minded Judge when the ex tried pulling a fast one trying to make it look [why, I don't know] like it was her divorcing me.
People still don't believe the story, I'd had to both learn and explain a couple of aspects of international comity of law to a Judge in Wales [face to face in court, over coffee, just me and him there] so as to adjourn in UK so as to discover if the US case could either conclude it, or be slung out since it would otherwise hold up a UK decree and the Judge in Florida got the job done, but, in short, my ex walked into the Fl court having bulshitted publicly and repeatedly on social media where she thought things were at and walked out of what she thought was going to be just her attending and dragging out for money with the chance of 'winning' by default a few hearings later ... divorced, property in possession granted both [including intellectual, which I added and would advise anyone to] AND the UK divorce petition predating hers by some two months legally attached to an American one that I could have had dismissed under international law and stuck with the UK process.
***Note for future reader/s, it's complicated but simple at the same time with a bit of homework. First to file, if petitions are made in two countries, under comity between most 'developed' nations carries a priority over the later one, which priority can be waived in court by the first petitioner only ... as 'fault' has to be cited in UK to get a quicker out, which can affect certain vague other bits in future that don't apply in Fl as much, seeing as how the 'Colonial Judge', his description, not mine, was dead keen to show that 'we've come on a bit since independence, even have our own laws now too', or words to that effect, he asked if I'd agree to him granting divorce, which was great, but I insisted the UK papers were stamped in on it, to which he agreed, making it bullshit proof.***
I know that's a bit of a tangent in context, but I can definitely say courts vary around any country and especially internationally, Judges have a lot of rules to stick to, but quite some flexibility too at times.
All that said, even though I've won every case I've taken on myself [grinz], it does seem odd that a defendant is up there in such a case when objection is being legally discussed ?
