I think Tear was a great one to introduce your guy friends to - not only is it hard hitting AF, the lyrics are just so emotional. Anyone who's ever been through the pain of a break-up can relate to Tear. DKDKTV also has a really good explainer for Baepsae which discusses the multi-layered language and cultural nuances (and for Ddaeng and Daechwita, which are in your part II!)
Baepsae is more about socioeconomic issues than just generational. Yes, generational plays a huge part in the song but for a different reason. Economically, it's a lot harder for people now to live, everything is so expensive, and salaries often don't cover what you need to pay for everything. People have to give up actually living life just to work to survive. But people born with "silver spoons" or people who were given more of an advantage just say "work harder" or "put in more effort." They act like people not being able to support themselves in their current economies is their own fault for not working hard enough and being lazy, rather than a huge gap between those born more privileged and those who were born in a time where there was economic prosperity and things were much cheaper, compared to those who weren't born into amazing positions in life who are put at a disadvantage. So it's like saying "You are a stork, you were given long, powerful legs. I am a crow-tit, how can I possibly keep up with you when the legs I was given were so short" referring to economics and your station in life

I recall having to wear the much-dreaded (due to allergies) stage makeup even as an insignificant minor performer (not in direct line of all the bright spotlights) in various orchestras /concerts, just so I “won’t scare the audience looking like a featureless ghost”. This practice is a necessity that goes beyond vanity. Only difference is that for Western male performers (w exception of metal, goth, grunge, heavy rock artists where the makeup is somehow non-punitively accepted or even celebrated as part of their musical persona), the stage makeup focus there is to create a “natural” no-makeup look that their audience is oblivious to. “I feel like you are not displaying yourself unless it’s 100% your staff..Otherwise who are they going to know, you or the writers” actually I don’t know if other artists do it, probably yes, but bts can talk about some themes and professional writer will organise their thoughts into a nice speech, or make it in a song. Correction they were going to disband because of the hate and accusations in their early days, not for a break. The plagiarism accusations really got them down and was taking a toll on their mental health.
I saw Suga clarfied on You Quiz on the Block interview that their break also stemmed from the overwhelming success in the U.S. and that it wasn't what he wanted, he was trying to express that he needed to take a step back coz he never wanted that amount of pressure

@@CloudedLeopard8588 I said "I think" because I saw Suga clarify on You Quiz on the Block interview that their break in 2018 also stemmed from the overwhelming success in the U.S. and that it wasn't what he wanted, he was trying to express that he needed to take a step back coz he never wanted that amount of pressure. Also Jin said he gets scolded by the memebers whenever he brings up disbandment during that time in 2018. but I was wrong and they scolded him for bringing it up at the MAMA speech NOT because Jin brought up disbandment as an option (which is what I interpreted from the translations but I was incorrect - apologies). But I'm not 100% sure if it's accurate... that it was them two, I just remembered that the two of them openly spoke about it
Hiatus is not the right translation. Dj Dino said the best translation is "off-period", certain times they're in performance or recording mode, sometimes they're not and it's an off period, so they're in an off period from group recording and performances but they're still doing other group stuff while they are "on" with solo projects right now
@Weinandout hiatus means total break to reconvene later. off-period is less holistic and can be applied not to the group but to the specific aspect] of their activities, performing
I'm curious who is the 2 you thought wanted to quit? Coz I haven't seen any mention of that.. Their Festa dinner just mentioned doing individual works but not quit perse. Their 2018 speech only mentioned that they were having difficulties that they discussed disbandment. Just thought to clarify.. 😅
Oh I watched them on "You Quiz" and Suga and Jin mentioned it? That's why I said, "i think". Suga said he cried in the shower before their first AMA appearance saying this is not what he wanted and they should pause. And Jin says, in the same interview I think that, "the members always get mad at me when I mention to disband" But idk if the truth got lost in translation coz every video I watch has different subtitles or if it was just said because it was them two that were being interviewed. Idk if it's true!
@@ChantelleSistersAndCo jin said that when he talked about the breakup meeting on mama award speech it made them cry even more, thats why members were scolding him to why he mentioned it on speech it made them more emotional. they never said that any one wanted to breakup. in one vlive suga has talked about why they thought to disbanding in 2018 was because in 2017 they became huge in western countries. As korean artist highest dream they had was to win mama and MMA desang but suddenly they became huge in foreign countries and this success made them sacred that how will they maintain the pressure of being at that height. In several vlives all members have mentioned how being on ama and billboard made them soo scared of future , and thats why they thought of disbanding , because their thoughts were conflicted how they will carry on this legacy and success , because they didn't wanted to disband they were scared of huge pressure they got with this success. What you said is not right , none of them wanted to do individual work , till 2020 when they 1st got curious about their individuality. So now they have started to build their own career along with group career. please don't mention about members having these thought if you don't know much , as after 2022 fest video they already were upset how media and people took their hiatus word in wrong way. RM even mention how he didn't wanted people to take it this way. They were struggling with writing songs , they needed break so they took one.
@@anamikasharma2176 Ohhhhh I thought the members scolded him because HE wanted to disband not because he mentioned it at the mama speech. However, I do think every artist yearns to do individual work and I feel that shows with the rap line releasing mixtapes and the other members also wanting to! @@anamikasharma2176 no not a problem, I am also forever grateful for being corrected. Bapsae is a political protest song about income and privilege disparities between boomers and Gen Z. It's the same conflict we have here. Boomers had higher wages, cheaper prices when they were working and growing families. So when Gen Z says "it's impossible for us to get what you have" the Korean boomers respond just like ours by saying "just try harder". They use the image of a short legged bird (crow-tit or bapsae in Korean) trying to keep up with a long-legged bird (stork) who doesn't understand why the bapsae is complaining, ignoring the fact that they were born with an advantage. In case Gen Z does not know, Gen X complained about this too. The boomers were being assholes back then too. But there are more of you, so hopefully you will be able to make changes with your influence and power. Us Gen X people are rooting for you!

I've heard of idols who got severely reprimanded or kicked from the company for daring to make suggestions as to lyrics and line distribution.
@@ystrw 100% but I think the reason a lot of ppl say BTS is different is because they do make it important that all the stuff they put out, they have a say

In the song Tear the cameraman did a perfect work!!!!!°
was that from their Wembley show?
Omg thx for introducing them to bts ! I love watching new ppl react to bts, nice reaction ^^ cant wait for part 2 😆
These songs are such a good introduction for BTS reactions.. and yeah... THE JAY F*CKING HOPE ALWAYS WEAR COOL OUTFITS😌
Salute for the guy with yellow tshirt he know jungkook❤🌸
thank you girl for introducing your friends for bts they are so clules hope you show them more💜👌
This was fun...but can't wait for part 2...please upload it soon 😍🤗
Love it you did well in introducing
You can show them more if you want
Even got aqua man in this reaction. Sheeesh!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
I love his last statement...facts man
This made me think, if i were to introduce BTS to non-army, which song and which video should i choose? I am taking pride of the quality of each of their works! It would be extremely hard for me to choose 😭😭😭
OMG I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL💜🥰😊

*BTS's rap line*
MIC DROP, tear, BAEPSAE.
isn't better just showing them rap line's songs?😂
there's morrrrreeeeeeee, this is only part 1 hehehee, watch til the end for the sneak peek of what songs are next
@@ChantelleSistersAndCo I know, but part 1 should be rap line's songs too (because there's only 2 parts), Mic Drop and Baepsae are nothing abt them.
@@kthsantisaresuckingmydick.748 sure I'll change the title then! Not a huge issue, the entire filming day was to showcase the rap line because my friends like hip hop and rap but I included some group songs to include songs that I thought would match their music preferences. The 2 videos are still a huge emphasis on the rappers though because some viewers felt like we weren't giving the rap line some attention. I just added group songs in the mix for variety
Can’t believe u haven’t seen dkdktvs explained by a Korean videos for bapsae and alot if others. Storks have long legs. A crowtit or bapsae is a small tiny bird w short legs so it can’t keep up w a stork
Also never heard specifics that like 2 of the members wanted to break up or end things. Just that in general they talked about breaking up due to everything that was happening at the time. Idk if that’s accurate
Nice video Chantelle. Thanks.😊
Can't wait for part 2
YAYY THANKYOU FOR THIS 🙏💜
Fire vid 🔥 all look like cool dudes hehe
They ARE cool dudes
The guy in the yellow was my fave... SHHH don't tell the others.
Nice job but I actually thought I was gonna cry when y’all talked over Namjoon’s part in the SNL Mic Drop. Maybe pause so iconic parts aren’t totally missed? But love ya and good luck in Korea! 🙏🏽💜😍
Bts have Rapp line and vocal line, and all member also do solo project, they attend the UN session too, than I think all artist not just asia use stylish and make up when they perform.
More reactions with the guys 👌😍😍
But I'm not 100% sure if it's accurate... that it was them two, I just remembered that the two of them openly spoke about it
There weren’t some members who wanted to split they were all discussing this together and with the company they all had doubts.
Hiatus is not the right translation. Dj Dino said the best translation is "off-period", certain times they're in performance or recording mode, sometimes they're not and it's an off period, so they're in an off period from group recording and performances but they're still doing other group stuff while they are "on" with solo projects right now
Run BTS will be shown on August 16 KST and BTS Busan concert on October 2022.
@Weinandout hiatus means total break to reconvene later. off-period is less holistic and can be applied not to the group but to the specific aspect] of their activities, performing
we're all lost in translation when their live announcement came about 😭
6:59 hey distracted them at the best part lol
I love how they are so focused and actually paying attention 🤝❤️
Show them more about them!! 💜💜
The two gyz red jacket and white hoodie they looked so bored and rude.. I hope in the part2 we can see some excitement from them.. Waiting for part2
Oooh girl, don’t judge a book by it’s cover! They are actually very interested and intrigued with BTS 😄 they just have rbf… hahahaha

They should watch "ON KINETIC MANIFESTO"
At this point if you haven’t heard of BTS you are living under a rock.
I didn't claim it as a fact though, I kept saying "I think" because I wasn't fully sure. The reason I mentioned it was because I was trying to give them context of what TEAR was about and to answer their questions! However, I do think every artist yearns to do individual work and I feel that shows with the rap line releasing mixtapes and the other members also wanting to! I also say "i don't know the correct term" (with regard to people using hiatus) because we filmed this the same week of the news and I also was not sure what was correct. I truly feel like I express my lack of knowledge throughout the video but I am glad I have viewers who are willing to teach me, I'm never sure what is "right" and I'm still learning the rules of this fandom, after all I have only been a fan for just under 2 years. So I do thank you for all this information
@@ChantelleSistersAndCo It's okay I just wanted to tell it so that you don't mention that again that's all and about individual work yes they have expressed of finding their music in 2020 so yes they thought of having break in 2020 but again those making songs pressure made them keep making songs so I think they talked about it with us on several vlives , we I am happy they are getting to know their own music along with working on group projects. Sorry if I was rude .😊
@@anamikasharma2176 no not a problem, I am also forever grateful for being corrected. But honestly, looking back at the videos where I got that information (you quiz on the block interviews), I may have interpreted it incorrectly because every video has different subtitles. I thought the members scolded Jin for suggesting disbandment as an option but in reality I think the members scolded Jin for mentioning it during their speech which made them more emotional. I understand now, thank you!
The Dior outfits are not sponsored tho. It's custom-tailored. BTS officially stopped taking any brands sponsorship for their clothing since like 2018. They still do brand ambassador for specific brands tho.
Owww she's back!!!
This video was when they were at WEMBLEY STADIUM in 2019 that's why J-Hope's mic is blue, they had 2 sold out shows there and they are only the 12th artists to have achieved this, every music artist in the world wants to perform at the iconic stadium but not every one can pull it off.
I keep on eyeing the one who is wearing red and with the white hoodie. They act like couple 💑 😁

I think your friends kinda got lost interest about BTS cause you played their live performances. You should start with a different video. Like Introducing to BTS. Makeup is literally for everyone every gender makeup just give u confidence thts all ur beautiful already naturally ❤and in Korea our male idols do makeup wht is their makeup it's just a normal foundation creams and they only use lip balm which is normal and they only set their hair thts all is their makeup which is nothing a big deal ❤
are we even young? HAHAHAHA I FELT THAT
I would have shown them the rapping, dancing and singing skills in ON! Their best to me!!!
💯💯 a rapper writes their own raps. main point why I respect BTS and why I can't take any of those kpop idols serious that are sold as rappers but never held a pen in their lives
It would have been fun if you had done the baepsae performance compilation video, they definitely would have enjoyed it lol

It's just a break there taking but there still doing group work tho there coming out with run bts episodes August 16th and there gunna be doing more stuff.

Great video! Just talking over the song to explain or talk about other things irked me soooo much because you make them miss the best moments or cut off their focus on the lyrics, instruments, dancing, facial expressions, etc. People might dislike to pause the video, but I find it better than to talk while the song is still playing.
Thanks for watching along! Exactly why I can't please every one of my viewers so I try to switch up my filming style every video! It may have irked you but I got a lot of comments that they liked it so like ahaahaa who do I listen to if everyone has different opinions? I think all of my viewers! Which means release every type of video to accommodate every viewers' preference. This one just so happens to be the "talk while the video plays" style
I think you should watch a tear song for a rap line, a song in a vocal line. And I definitely recommend listening to ddaeng.and agust d daechwita.Or how about having the members listen to their solo songs?
