- Yeah Peter Metro & Dominick inna combination! I've always been a big fan of the one called Dominick not only cause we share the same skin colour and cause he's a fellow European, it's more because he's one of the few caucasian artists who makes music that is ruled by black people and still keep it real!! And we're talking about Raggamuffin understand? Cause for example a white person doing rap these days is not a strange sight to behold seeing the fact that rap is way more global and accepted then reggae music, and rap music has in my opinion lost it's credibility a looooooong time ago, Now what fascinates me is that he made the choice of going to Jamaica and make the music he loves the most. Cause let's be honest i know almost a 100% sure that he had to prove himself over and over again before the people had accepted him and he was also lucky that he voiced for King Jammy's, He has been performing with and for some real Badman and Gunman to. Nowadays a white boy can pick up a mic talk about how he rough and there's no need whatsoever for him to back that up, however Dominick to wasn't really a saint, (he was a hustler) But still especially in those days he was the only white man (except for Johnny Nice, who? exactly..) doing reggae music and being respected for it by the Jamaican people. Please prove me wrong and tell me another white person nowadays that has his status, and don't even dare calling Collie Buddz or Alborosie cau the 2 a dem a phony!!
here's an article about him:

agreed. i love that dominic didn't front like he's a rasta or try to act black. he came with the cockney style to the fullest. nothing but respect for him.
Peter Metro LYRICS FOREVER
Peter Metro killed it. I get chills hearing this!
I was at this show, those days Reggae Sunsplash was ITTTT
I remember this night. Life changing experience!!! Those were the days.
I saw Dominick and the other dancehall stars at the National Stadium in Kingston. This English dude did have a lot of guts cutting into the music scene and integrating into the Jamaican culture. He had limited talent as a dancehall artist, but back in the day he was the only white Jamaican dancehall singer. He never felt out of place and deserves credit for going for what he wanted. His love of Jamaica and dancehall transcends his skin color or background. Dominick, the original white rapper. Sorry Eminem.
remember watching this i was only 14 born in 🇬🇧with 🇯🇲parents, Peter metro gave me a whole history lesson in one song🔥🔥🔥

If not ‘the’ best!
Dominic and Peter Metro were a great combo...They had the kind of chemistry that Mel Gibson and Danny Glover had in "Letal Weapon" and Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder had in "Stir Crazy"...There will be more white Reggae singers emerging in the future, both in Jamaica and around the world, because Reggae is bigger than race, it's a genre of music that doesn't belong to any one race of people, though it emanated in Jamaica...That goes for every genre of music as well...Good music is good music.

@Klik Klaka, How can you say alborosie is a fake? Have you seen him chilling in JA? He is a legend in JA! You can see him chilling with mikal rose, freddie mcgregoer, steel pulse, horace andy, and the list goes on!!! For you to say that he is fake is false. And yes there are other white artist before dominic and mr. nice. check out MARTIN CAMPBELL!!!!!!!! He was recording in JA with TUBBY not Jammy in the early 80's. If you dont know martin campbell then you really cant say alborosie is fake.

Albarosie is one of the best reggae singers in Jamaica...It doesn't matter that he is Italian...Jamaicans are not the only ones who can sing reggae music and sing it well...Look at UB40, Amy Winehouse and even Eric Clapton...They sing reggae music brilliantly...Albarosie is one of the best reggae musicians, period!
You’re delusional!!!
He Ok but no way one of the best reggae singers
I agree...Gentleman, the German Reggae singer, seems to be liked by Jamaicans, but, overall, I agree with you...Dominick was very popular, back in the eighties...Albarosie is a very good artiste, and, also, Snow, but, they didn't achieve the mass appeal, that, Dominick did..To Snow's credit, though, his song "Informer" went to number one, on, the US Billboard Hot 100, an achievement, that, few Jamaican Reggae artists have had..In 1994, Ini Kamoze's "Here Comes the Hotstepper" became # 1, also.
Have to disagree there. Gentlemen is a much more successful artist than Dominic ever was. Even Snow as well if you’re talking about international sales. Dominic said himself in an interview that he wasn’t a very well known recording artist but was mostly popular among the emerging Jamaican DJ circuit in the mid 80’s. If it wasn’t for Peter Metro he wouldn’t have had much noteriety in dancehall at all. It was the fact he was white in a majority black profession that made people even give him a chance. He said that himself and the interview is on RUclips with Chin.
Dominick was shite and that tune with metro was a rip off smiley culture Cockney Translation tune, listen to the cockney and yadie tune and listen to Cockney Translation and tell me they have not copied smiley culture
