Still sounding great even at age 85 !!!!! You put today’s talent to shame You put your whole heart and soul into your music. That’s what makes a legendary performer
In 1969, I was driving south to London just after midnight. I stopped at Watford Gap for a short break and walked in just ahead of Engelbert. He'd just performed Please Release me on TV. He looked ill and wore a tattered old sheepskin coat and was accompanied by 3 men in greasy old raincoats. They'd arrived in an old grey Jaguar saloon. I asked Engelbert if he'd like to get served first and he was much appreciative. We both had some sort of potato hash and sausages. The lady who served us got his signature. Little did I know this was the beginning of an illustrious career. I went on to join quite a few 60s bands but will never forget our meeting.
I met Englebert Humperdinck by accident in 1969 ( I was 19yrs) on TV and it was love at first sight! And now 52 yrs later I feel the same. What beautiful music has he given us throughout his career! God bless you Englebert and may we have the privilege of listening to you for many more years.

Then this polite voice appears with a soulfulness and deep compassion with great concern for mankind enters your ears while warming your heart and knowing he has faced heartache like the rest of us, he sings, he sings for you and me. While he is healing we can find hope in Jesus and each other. This is so kind of him to do this for us. A gift.. a precious gift. It was so needed. Thank you

When I was 18 years young I had an 8 track tape that I loved for many years. Couldn't play it any more, that was 53 years back. I'm a happy old man now, thanks to RUclips I can listen to al of his songs again. Thank you both ❤👴

My Mom loves you so much. I put your poster in a frame. It sits on her dresser and she sees you every morning. When I put any of your live concerts on my car speaker and let her watch it on my phone her eyes light up and she's totally in another world. Thanks for being you. Her eyes dance when she sees me, but her blue eyes sparkle when she watches you sing.

My Uncle had a club in the UK, the T&C in Kentish Town. He rented the building and sadly the owner decided not to renew the lease and used it as a venue after the hard work had been done building it up as a well known concert venue. I say that to say this, on the last night we had Van Morrison on and then as the curtains closed You were singing the last waltz and my Aunt and Uncle danced to it. I have never cried so hard. Now everytime I hear that song I am back there again. This was lovely thank you :0) xxx
....Kentish Town in north London...brings back many memories.I was born in Camden Town....and later we went to live in Kentish.And at mums funeral we played The Last Waltz.
