Part 2 - Audi TT, TTS, TTRS MK3 Super Sports Seats side trim fix install, How to replace / fix guide

- Audi TT, TTS, TTRS from 2014-2018 have a fault with their super sport seats. The plastic seat trim breaks from the seat exposing the airbag which looks terrible. The plastic used is inferior and of poor quality. Audi have not recalled them even though thousands of people have had to replace them at over £300 per set. This is a step by step guide of how to fix them yourself and saving you Audi’s ridiculous price of over £1000 for the the fix. I personalised my trims by painting them gloss black. Go see my earlier video of the painting process.

Thank you for this video...I used your experience to replace both sides of my passenger seat trim, '16 TT Roadster. On my car the top piece tab was broken as well as 3 of the 4 screw mounts. The new trim pieces fit great and looks so much better... Now I'm noticing the drivers trim pieces don't fit as well as the ones just replaced, that's a job for another day.. Thanks again
Glad you got it sorted! I’m sure the replacements are identical, maybe they are not clipped in fully, give it a whack!
Hi David. Do you have any tips on key things that need to be done differently on the roadster? I'm keen to give it a go...
Bloody hell, you’ve done such an amazing paint job on those. 👌😧🔥
Thanks pal
What model year is your TT?
I have the 2015 jan model. And I was told that juat buying the new revised parts wont work since the old side airbag system is in the way.
Meaning that you also need to buy the new side airbags if you want new revised parts on early models
This is my old 2015 TT with the super sports seats. I have since found out the parts are not revised and exactly the same. I have a 2019 facelift TTRS now and the same issue so got a set for free from Audi which are identical. You dont need to buy the airbags too, this will make no difference, the plastic side panels will still break. Try not to get it and full into the seat, just get in gently and they should last
@ITSARAPPTTRS well yeah 2019 model already has the new airbags so no need to change. The fact that you did not need to change your airbags on the old 2015 model tells us that the parts are not revised. You are right.
From the TT forum some people used the revised parts and new airbags. Claiming that the quality od the hooks (now metal) is much more durable.
I already had Audi change the driver seats side pannels with non revised parts. Lasted 2 years then started breaking again.
Im a small guy in both height and weight. So if the seats break during my entry... they will break for just about any reason 😂
No amount of "squatting over eggs" will help ya. These things are extremely fragile. Im surprised how Audi did not do a recall. This is patheitc. Never gonna buy audi again :(
@@F.S92 I have not heard of any have metal hooks so I think that is not true. My new FL model is still the plastic parts, I have them delivered to me but I havent had the time to change it yet as it hasnt gone fully, just at the top. They havent bothered changing them at all, I cant see how the airbag has anything to do with it after I have taken my seats apart.
Oh my gosh!!! Dude. I hate these freaking things on my car. Thanks for this video!!
No problem, just one bit of caution, one of mine has gone again so they haven’t made an improvement with the material like I thought.
Another great video mate. Super helpful!
Cheers mate 🤜🏼🤛🏼
You've done a great job here explaining this - I'm sure its going to help a lot of people. Thankfully my 2017 seats are holding up, so assume I have the updated plastics. Side note and an idea for a future video - have you thought about spraying your vent rings red, rather than using those third party metal rings stuck on? Pretty easy job, and looks much better!
Thanks Tony, appreciate that. As for the rings, yes I was just talking about that today with the mrs, I’m actually going to do it!!!
Great video as usual 👌
Cheers pal, appreciate that
Good work mate, looks stellar 👊🏼👊🏼, given me an idea for my roadster to possibly paint up my seat backs.....oh, and the 'S' graphics are a nice touch 👍🏻😎
Cheers Jason, share your pics when you do
@@ITSARAPPTTRS will do mate... probably in the summer, got a few things I want to work on first 😈😈
Looks great and the seat decals are a nice touch too

Thanks pal. Check out @badgecustoms on instagram for the seat decals. They changed their name on there to this.
good morning where can I buy the logos you applied on the seats? thanks Nicola nice job congratulations ...
Thanks Nicola, there’s a guy who makes them to order in any colour on instagram called @custom_vinyl_decals_
Hello where did you buy the seats white and red "S Line" vinyl??
I listed it in the description of the video
Hola! los plásticos laterales que estaban rotos los reparastes o compraste otros nuevos? Se podrían reparar usando pegamento? Gracias!
You have to buy new ones as the plastic will break again if you glue them. One of mine has already gone again so i have to repair it again.
@@ITSARAPPTTRS hello! thank you so much. one last question, could you tell me if this reference is the one of the piece. Thanks again. all the best! 8S0881317S
@@javierramon7308 the part numbers are in the video description. That number is one of the 4 I ordered. Each side has a different part number
@@ITSARAPPTTRS muchas gracias amigo! Un abrazo!
Thank you very much for the video and information.
Where can you buy the sticker "S" for the seat?
Check out @badgecustoms on Instagram for the seat decals 👍🏻
Sickkkkkk job
Cheers man
Where can i buy the side Trims?
Direct from Audi
Would you be interested in selling the original 4?
This was 3 years ago, in the bin
Ist it possible to paint the original cover?
Cover? Seat panels do you mean? They were broken if that’s what you mean
Unrelated but can’t seem to find any info on it. My drivers seat is creaking when putting pressure on the upright part I think it’s the lumbar support, almost like a baloon creaking against metal or something when it’s squashed and then let out when you remove the pressure, anyone help please??
I really have no idea what could be causing it. Sounds like a strange one there, hope you get it sorted!
@@ITSARAPPTTRS appreciate it buddy🙏
I have the same issue, no idea what it could be
@@tillo1998 I sold my tt over a year ago was doing my head in. I now have a TTRS with the same seats and it’s very similar not quite as bad. I just turn the music up and get on with it
Wao!
😊
I would like to get these pieces in carbon fiber
That would look fab. Maybe contact Diamond Dips and get them hydro dipped
Where can i buy these stickers?
There is a guy on Instagram who makes them for everyone called Custom Vinyl Decals but his Instagram seems to have disappeared
Just found him on instagram again - @badgecustoms
dove posso trovare i rivestimenti ???
Li ho acquistati da Audi e li ho dipinto io stesso
