It’s cheap and the only real threat the UN considers is guerilla paramilitaries as engaging peacekeepers is a war crimes and the idea is that it would play poorly enough internationally that there would be no threat from modern weaponry, although Hinds may not be particularly advanced, they will do more than enough to stop poorly armed groups, it’s like why they are also seen using Humvees even after they gained their reputation. And of course there’s instances when countries make donations to the UN to try downplay major incidents (Russia have sent some Mi35’s after word got out that they downed a civilian airliner over Ukraine a few years ago)

At the moment that would be a lot more difficult to achieve. Unmanned aircraft still require a huge amount of maintenance and behind the scenes work, as they are a more experimental tech. Human piloted vehicles like the one in this vid are a lot cheaper to send to a smaller , relatively low infrastructure fighting force like the peacekeepers in the vid who don't necessarily have full support from the nation's military, not to mention the lack of runways etc.

the united nations is an intergovernmental organization. The basic idea is that if one country has trouble the rest come to help. The central african republic is part of that organization therefore their goverment along with the a handful of other member nations work together to fight these militias.
