Loved this video and hearing your thoughts. You are enjoying life, doing things you want but at the same time keeping a “common” sense reality check on life. I just really enjoy your videos and Your thought process. PLEASE keep putting videos out there on any and all thoughts!
The Colorado Trail is a great idea. That was going to be my next trail but then I did the AT. I’ll share my research with you and Luke ... I loved this video by the way. Very original and comprehensive for a post-AT video. Looking forward to more!
@will pope Yeah the music and the text on screen. Every 2nd or 3rd video felt like I was watching a video from 80's elementary school again. Cool stuff.
video on this page, I had to pause and do something in another room as soon as it started. Paused it right when you first see the water filter. I was laughing like hell when I was walking away. And Liz Kidder might be the first person to ever show the actual flow rate on that sawyer. Seen it in a lot of videos but never seen it that clearly before.
Thanks for doing this Liz! Gives a good insight to how I'll feel when I get back next year. Congrats again on the marriage and finishing the trail! I enjoyed watching your videos!
Thanks again. Appreciate the reflections from a through-hiker. Yes, that’s you. Like the comments on hiking vs camping, gratitude and contentment, and the stats. And putting things into perspective. Hoping you and Luke have a good life together.
Hello Liz ...congrats on your nuptials....nice wrap up of your AT hike experience....thanks for sharing...good luck with your future endeavors...I can relate about getting home and being glad to have the life I do....I'm not far from the trail here in VA,outside Pearisburg...I'm another type "a" person....sometimes a blessing -other times ??...but can relate....looking for my next chapter too...take care....
Followed you from the beginning, Liz. You did great and I love that you and Jake hiked a lot with Evan. He’s been a favorite for a while. Best wishes to you and Luke.
Fun post hike video. It was a blast following your hike. I like the "epiphany" that you like your current life. That's nice, just enjoying where you're at. Best to you and Luke.
Keep them coming! On or off trail, you're charisma is RUclips worthy. My wife and I loved following your hike and can't wait to see what the future holds for Mr and Mrs :-)
Hi Liz, thank you for sharing everything. You have brought some amazing enjoyment to me personally. Your happiness level shines like a bright shining star. Make it a great day.
Glad you made this one. It's cool to see that you didn't drop off the face of the earth after the trail vlogging. And lists, lists, lists - yes! Feed your inner quant.
Thank you for the follow-up. Hope to watch many more videos. Your happiness is infectious, stay competitive even if only with yourself! Hope all is well with you and Luke, enjoy life and keep smiling!
Awesome job once again! Thank you for letting us know how you are settling back in, sorry about your shop, but I can't imagine that slowing you down much as you probably already had a plan A, plan B and plan C in mind as soon as you saw it. I admire you in so many ways and for so many things. Glad you guys took us along for the journey and we look forward to your next, whatever it may be.
Great wrap up Liz. Especially liked the tally at the end. One day someone will add up the walking ya'll do besides the trail. To shuttles, parking lots, hostels, towns, etc. Probably could add a couple of 100 miles of walking. Maybe you could hint at Evan on figuring it out. Ha!. Great job and thanks again Liz.
Thank you for all of the video's. Am looking forward to any subject you choose to comment on. You appear to be extremely intelligent and down to earth at the same time, refreshing .
Oh my goodness, you have the best sense of humor...you had me laughing so hard at the beginning of this video....Glad you are doing well...feel so bad for you that you were welcomed with a flooded business....Keep posting...you have a faithful follower right here!
Thank you so much for taking us on your amazing adventure. You were awesome! Wishing you health and happiness. Come down one winter and hike the Florida National Scenic Trail. It's only about 1100 miles... Again a huge thanks!!!!
Great perspective video. Preciate all the honesty. Ill be curious to see how that changes or does not change over the next year. Sorry to hear about the shop. Good luck getting it back up and running asap.
Congrats! I had to drop off trail at mile 1461 (Bull Bridge Rd) due to tendonitis in my right foot. I hope to finish the last third next summer. It was great meeting you guys. Reid Sanford aka "Boffin"
Boffin!!!! Nice to hear from you! Sorry to hear you had to get off trail- hope your foot gets better and you kill it next year! Keep in touch and we’ll come hike with you in New Hampshire!
Great summary of your post-through hike entry back into the real world. You seem to be enjoying married life. I look forward to seeing any new adventures that you choose to share.
Loved keeping up with your videos! As an aspiring thru hiker your perspective has been inspiring. I can appreciate your lists especially the count ups at the end 😊
Thank you so much for allowing “us” to join you on this journey. I loved the segments with Luke...the dude is hilarious! From my perspective it is a bit sad that this AT time is concluding but I am so happy for you that you finished AND got married. Thanks again...looking forward to future videos. -Bill
This was a great wrap up! I was a skeptic at first, but something made me continue to watch. Congrats to you and Luke! I know you guys will succeed in whatever you do. Good luck with your business!
I have to say I have enjoyed your video's so much. This one was funny, interesting and informative. Your the total package with your video's and Luke adds icing on the cake. Best of the future to the both of you. Looking forward to your next one. Congratulation on your marriage and earning the title of thru-hiker. and in my opinion one of the best Vloggers on the trail :)
I am glad you decided to keep blogging back there somewhere ....Thanks for bringing us along it was nice getting to know you and I wish y’all the best in life 🙂👍
I have followed you along with a few others and have wanted to Thu-hike the AT for many years but strangely enough I think I prefer doing section hikes over the thought of a 6 month hike. I have sectioned about 1/4 of the trail now and it is Amazing! Thanks again for dragging us all along on your journey!
Liz, you are an entertaining and unique young women. Admired your determination and grit to complete your thru hike of the AT in 2018! As a man quickly approaching retirement you may have inspired me to attempt at least some section hikes of the AT! Good luck and congrats to you and Luke in marriage. Taking the vows on Katadin was a super cool way to finish off your videos for your followers!
Freaking awesome video Liz.....couldn't look away for a second....you have a real talent for this vlog stuff...really...cant wait for the next....icing on the cake after your journey....
Good summation. You could do well just hiking the rest of the NE trail systems. Much shorter trips but long enough to know you have been out in the woods. Finish the Long Trail, do the NPT, explore the side trails, etc. Take your camera and show the rest of the world what is around. There is more to the world than the AT, PCT and CDT.
Hey Liz, I recommend doing the Colorado Trail - I did it last year as my first thru and it was amazing, and you don't need to do much planning, if any at all... Just get the Databook and you're good to go! :)
Massachusetts? Your studio is in the same town in NH that my cousin lives in. I'm in central Massachusetts. We're both from north of Boston originally, though. It's always so cool to me to randomly find creators in my area! New Englanders are all one big family! Most people I find and watch are in California, England, Ireland, and Japan. Small world! Too cool! Hello from Fitchburg! I hate it here. 😂 Fingers crossed that I get the funds to move back to the North Shore!
Thanks for sharing your experience on the trail. Enjoyed your videos. Congrats on finishing and of course your marriage!! I also have zero backpacking and camping experience and starting my AT thru hike in 5 months. So it's very helpful and interesting to hear your perspective, especially the parts you did not enjoy as much. Good luck to you!! ❤️
Great job on the wrap up, seems like you were paying attention to viewers comments & took good stock of how things played out along the way. Congrats again to you & Luke, seems like a good match. Bummer about the shop getting flooded like that but nice it waited until you got back so you didn't have to quit the trail early to take care of it. Makes ya feel needed, eh?? LOL Looking forward to seeing how things go for you from here out.
Myself and a friend road tripped from Tyngboro, Massachusetts to Sandusky, OH in 2015. We took a slightly longer route than most might because it was cheaper on the tolls. Unfortunately, that took us straight through the middle of PA the long way. 6 hours of our 11.5hr drive was just PA! After that, for like a year, we joked about being "triggered" by the PA license plates we would see in New England. "OH NO! PENNSYLVANIA! RUN!!!!" 😂
I totally enjoyed watching your AT videos so much. Now I want to hike with 3 guys.lol. Congrats again on getting married. Nobody can top your wedding story! Good Luck in the future & I hope you bring us along too!! 😃👍🏻⭐️
Hi Liz. Enjoyed meeting you in PA and providing a little trail magic in the Swatera section. I dare say that PA does have dirt sections of trail although the rocky sections are there too. I know in one of Evan's videos he commented that he felt that PA gets a bad rap for rocks and found the hiking to be relatively easy compared to other parts of the AT. So it all comes down to perspective I suppose. Enjoy your new married life and keep the water away from the shop. :)
Excellent video Liz!! I’m a list person too, omg, totally understand the list thing (and they’re so helpful!). I spent so much time planning too (like every night in my tent, along with video editing and journaling). Sure hope you got the studio cleaned up, what a bummer to have that happen right away! You are so cute, but more so - you seem so sweet, really comes through in your videos, your smile is infectious. Loved hearing your thoughts on loving the life you have. ❤️ You are a total badass! Congrats again on your thru!! - Jen (Chica)
Great video, Liz. Congrats on finishing the trail and getting hitched. Can't wait for the "Peanut Butter Wrap Cookbook." Bet you haven't eaten one of those since you've been home!
I love hearing that someone else loves CAMPING more than hiking..good shit...simplicity is key..hope the transition is easy ,I'm sure you love your rain coat more and more these days..PA is so fun..great video
Looks like I just found a new series to watch! RUclips just decided to introduce me to your channel with this one in the recommended section... love your style, just subbed! Forgive me if this is an obvious answer, but do you do video's on hair? I used to have dreads about 10 years ago and I'm currently growing my hair out again to do it once more, would love to freshen up on maintenance and technique. Just seeing your hair motivates me, gorgeous!!! I live about 15 minutes from a PCT crossing here in Washington, would be awesome to see you on this side of the country some day.
After I get some of my post trail videos out of the way, I definitely want to start posting hair/dreadlock tutorial type videos! Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. I love it, 😎. Don’t forget to count all of the subscriber days you brightened! Thanks again!
Liz, I found the intro to be laugh-out-loud funny! This may be the most original and interesting post-hike video that I've seen. What an absolute hoot. I also found myself chuckling at your lists. As for your future: why don't you find some trails that not everyone has heard of and tackle them? Darwin took on the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama--the first major RUclipsr to hike it. Again, this was a terrific video. You take care.
Ok more videos lets see....: " Gear review after the trial and how it all performed "... Including things you would like to bring with you (like one stove for example)... things you didn´t need, which shoes you choose from all you use..., how the switch from whatever trekking poles to Komperdell worked, which one you prefer... etc...etc...etc...
Great Hike Liz, Congratulations. We just went back and watched your gear list and are wondering if you will do post hike gear review? Would love to know what worked for you and what didn't.
I love this intro! Adjusting to life after the trail. Well, the whole video was good! And I wish more thru hikers would do something like this. It's good to hear you talk about the what was good and not good for you on the trail. Also, I'm amazed you only lost 2 pounds, but maybe that's because you were already in good physical condition before the hike? I also enjoyed those metric/stats you gave near the end and you included some fun things in those numbers! And I'm going to stay subscribed to your channel because ... hey, you might be doing more hiking at some point or another.
Hi, I think you would like to do the JMT. It is a portion of the PCT. Even just a portion of the JMT would be beautiful. The Ansel Adams area by Mammoth Mountains, the Rae Lakes Loop out of Kings Canyon and the High Sierra Trail area all easily done in a week while still enjoying the area. Congratulations!
So glad you started posting on your own channel! Sorry if I was a pain in your butt about it. Lol. This was a cool video and I think doing some other trails like the Colorado trail or even the Arizona trail would be pretty awesome. Congrats on finishing your thru hike of the AT and I wish you all the best with your future endeavors. -Brian
Thanks for talking about the myths and your epiphanies. It's good to know folks aren't getting wasted in the woods. I mean, who seriously wants to carry all that weight, lol? I loved the tallies. I didn't see any poisonous snakes on the AT all summer, and didn't actually see any bear on the AT (just a yearling run across the road near Dingman's Ferry). I am sorry PA sucked for you, but what is fascinating to me is that, having grown up hiking (mostly the Bake Oven Knob corridor), I thought all trails were like that, so when I hiked other sections as an adult, I was like, hey, where are the rocks?? Hiking gives us an amazing perspective of who we are and what we want and what we can tolerate. I don't know that I will ever have the chance to thru hike, but section hiking has been awesome. I'm drawn to the East coast, and the PCT doesn't hold much interest for me, but the CT and the JMT look amazing. LOVE the videos, and holy cow, you have nice handwriting! Give Miss Piggy a smooch and totally, totally dress her up in a flower girl costume for your party!
Great video, thanks! I love backpacking and I am scheduled to Thru the AT next March and I am feeling exactly like you stated; I don’t want to rush thru each day. I want to enjoy the trip and yet get home in a timely fashion....to Thru or Section.....?.
Loved this video and hearing your thoughts. You are enjoying life, doing things you want but at the same time keeping a “common” sense reality check on life. I just really enjoy your videos and Your thought process. PLEASE keep putting videos out there on any and all thoughts!

Evan's Backpacking Videos We’ve thought about the Colorado Trail too!! Short and sweet.
Are you going to do the Colorado Trail?
EVAN'S MUSIC ROCKS!

Congrats 360 degrees and I appreciate every list and tally that you've shared. Great info but the delivery: Priceless. Shine on cool woman!
Very well done!!! Great idea for smaller trails. I think Yellowstone would be great.
Great idea!
So glad to see you back! Section hiking sounds like a great idea. Can't wait to see it. Congratulations again on the nuptials!

Good for you, if I had any hair I would make an appointment. You seem like a great person after watching 6 of your videos.

Good luck with your business!
Congratulations on both your hike and your marriage! Enjoyed your videos and really happy you plan to continue. Thanks
Very sweet video. Full of clichés, yet you made me laugh to tears. The scene with the tent and settling back is delicious.

Awesome vid, Handstand! Love ur thoughts and Final Tally! Congrats on meeting your challenge! Agree that section backpacking may be the way to go!
That sums it up really good videos . We would enjoy Luke describing his Appalachian Trail hiking memories . Thanks !
Will have to get him on camera soon!

Great job on the wrap up, seems like you were paying attention to viewers comments & took good stock of how things played out along the way. Congrats again to you & Luke, seems like a good match. Nutella for the win! cant wait to see you guys next month!
Awsome video Liz you did an amazing job! Love your videos!
awesome update Liz, I was wondering how the group has adjusted being back in society. congrats again on finishing and your marriage.
Great vid. The Whole AT series was great! Thanks for sharing!

I should’ve mentioned that southern PA was actually pretty nice. Northern PA though- easy? Yes. Enjoyable? NO. Hahaha
Great info! I did follow your hike on the AT !!!
Hello from New Jersey
Excellent video Liz!! I’m a list person too, omg, totally understand the list thing (and they’re so helpful!). I spent so much time planning too (like every night in my tent, along with video editing and journaling). Sure hope you got the studio cleaned up, what a bummer to have that happen right away! You are so cute, but more so - you seem so sweet, really comes through in your videos, your smile is infectious. Loved hearing your thoughts on loving the life you have. ❤️ You are a total badass! Congrats again on your thru!! - Jen (Chica)
Thanks so much Chica! You’re the sweetest! Looks like you guys have been enjoying yourselves on the Camino!
Great video, Liz. Congrats on finishing the trail and getting hitched. Can't wait for the "Peanut Butter Wrap Cookbook." Bet you haven't eaten one of those since you've been home!
Great idea!!!
I love hearing that someone else loves CAMPING more than hiking..good shit...simplicity is key..hope the transition is easy ,I'm sure you love your rain coat more and more these days..PA is so fun..great video
Yet another stellar video. Awesome wrap up and definitely look forward to more of your and Luke's adventures. Peace!
Looks like I just found a new series to watch! RUclips just decided to introduce me to your channel with this one in the recommended section... love your style, just subbed!

awesome cant wait!
Thanks for doing this video and all the information.. I agree with you section hiking is way to go

Great video love the statistics thanks for making videos Liz
Great Hike Liz, Congratulations. We just went back and watched your gear list and are wondering if you will do post hike gear review? Would love to know what worked for you and what didn't.
Done!
Reallyyyyy love your videos always
Wonderful perspective and thanks for the sharing, God bless
I love this intro! Adjusting to life after the trail. Well, the whole video was good! And I wish more thru hikers would do something like this. It's good to hear you talk about the what was good and not good for you on the trail. Also, I'm amazed you only lost 2 pounds, but maybe that's because you were already in good physical condition before the hike? I also enjoyed those metric/stats you gave near the end and you included some fun things in those numbers! And I'm going to stay subscribed to your channel because ... hey, you might be doing more hiking at some point or another.
CongratsX2 Liz. A.T. & Marriage.
Hi,
I think you would like to do the JMT.
I’ll look into it! Thanks for the info!
Thanks for sharing your hike with the world. I watched both yours and Evans videos. Both were very good. Any comments on handy AT apps?
Guthook’s app is what we used for GPS/info. 100% recommend.
Great job and congrats on everything
Loved the list at the end handstand
So glad you started posting on your own channel! Sorry if I was a pain in your butt about it. Lol. This was a cool video and I think doing some other trails like the Colorado trail or even the Arizona trail would be pretty awesome. Congrats on finishing your thru hike of the AT and I wish you all the best with your future endeavors.
-Brian
Thanks Brian! Thanks for always supporting!!!🙏🏻
Great vlogging, Liz! Way to go.
You are one of a kind, and your vids are addictive. Congratulations on your marriage.Question, have you minimalized your life post trail?
Absolutely!! Got rid of lots of clothes and things... still want to continue doing more in that department!
Thank you for all of the videos.
Awesome rap up of your hike.
Outstanding video. Thanks!
Great follow-up video.
the tally at the end was awesome!!
Great Vlog!
Relax and enjoy life
Great post trail video!
Awesome video Liz thank you!!!!!
Hahaa ....finally someone that likes Nutella as much as me!! If I was there hiking we could've got "Nutella wasted".
Your good at being behind the screen . great personality . 👍💪
You’re the sweetest, thanks!!!!
You should do the Annapurna Circuit Trail in Nepal.
Will definitely look into that!!
Great video, thanks! I love backpacking and I am scheduled to Thru the AT next March and I am feeling exactly like you stated; I don’t want to rush thru each day. I want to enjoy the trip and yet get home in a timely fashion....to Thru or Section.....?.
Haha...great wrap up HS!
Great to see you, Liz! Love all the updates. Are you still eating peanut butter and Nutella? Or are you sick of it?
Still eating Nutella 😳
