Well my empress tree like always took forever to wake up but man once she did she took off 😳. This was the first year I didn’t trim it and one of the new trees is already beating the previous years growth 🤷🏼♀️. But yours is still taller 😝
They do take a long time to wake up! Glad to hear that one of yours is beating last year's growth 😁 It is a bit warmer down here in Niagara Region, so there's definitely more time for mine to grow taller! I am still a little disappointed... I thought they'd grow to be two metres in one growing season 😝 (At the Niagara Botanical Gardens, they have some older empress trees which they coppice to the ground every spring, and theirs get to be 3-4 metres high by August... I guess it depends on the vigour of the root system.)
