I imagine this arc changed people’s minds on how strong Garp is past his prime. Not only did he showcase one of the best Conqueror’s Haki feats but he also squared and beat down a younger former admiral and even after getting seriously wounded by Shiryu, he still slammed him into the ground. Kill Akainu? No. Considering an island splitting Tremor attack from a bloodlusted enraged Whitebeard to the head didn't even KO him. Even a second one to the chest didn't bring him down. You could make an argument for Prime Garp but Old Garp is getting killed.

After leaving the Navy & realizing how corrupt the World Government is (like all the things they made him do or prevented from doing of his own accord & morals), Kuzan really just is a broken fallen man; and Garp understands that from Kuzan's perspective that they both know the Navy currently is not good or just. With Kuzan becoming a pirate, he can finally live his life for himself & take back his freedom & live life on his own terms instead of for others or being told what to do, which I guess is what made Kuzan decide to join as the Final Main Crewmember of the Blackbeard Pirates as it's something Teach understands > Albeit as a personal sidenote: now that we know Kuzan IS a Blackbeard Pirate, Now I Really Do kinda Wish for Yamato to join the Straw Hats in the coming future. Kinda insane, Aokiji need all those disadvantages to equal Garp's punch. The fight also symbolize a lot of things. Aokiji: The man who is lost his way after losing to Akainu. Questioned everything about his sense of justice. The Ohara incidents. His friend, Saul. He is just empty now. Trying to searching for himself, looking once again for his sense of justice. Garp: The man who still stand in the Marine, despite knowing how corrupt they are. Believing that the organisation itself is not at fault, but the people above the organisation is.
Aokiji is using Ice Glove as technique to box with garp, as garp is a brawler and has trained his whole life specifically with his fist due to no devil fruit. It is Aokiji who is at disadvantage technically, by not using his df like he did at punk hazard but rather; boxing with Garp who again, has specifically trained and specializes with his fist, it is obvious that Garp is still physically stronger. however Aokiji still used his bare hands and both Aokiji and Garp's fist were black implying they used CoA or ACoA. If Aokiji used his DF like he did in punk hazard, he would most likely win

Fight longer doesnt justify superiority. It just their power compliment each other. My whole point is about their raw power, devil fruit not included. The backstory is also implying that message. Everything AFTER the really well animated flashback was animated by Mehdi Bengoudifa, including the Dap Up and all the impact frames Many people mistake it for Vincent Chansard, he only did the flashback stuff not the actual battle
Depends, conquerors/supreme would cancel out most devil fruits and other haki because of its dissonance, even someone with barely awakened conqueror/supreme would win out against A/S grade armament if they managed to focus their haki on the point of contact in a power struggle.. But haki alone such as strong armament wouldn't mean an absolute win against devil fruits.. Marco with his phoenix is a good example, I doubt even conq/supreme would damage him, cause pain yes but damage no.. My working theory is that if the nature of the devil fruit can be subdued such as magma, fire, smoke and even darkness, then it can be subdued by Haki, if it can't in cases such as Marco and Brook it will merely cause physical damage = temporary pain.. Marco will heal all damage caused and Brook can't be killed since he's not bound to a physical body so he probably doesn't even feel pain making him one of the scariest pirates in the universe..
