When I saw how the elites were in their old armour in the halo 2 anniversary intro, and since there was the line that says that Jul m'dama's elites were not in "standard military gear" I assumed that the Arbiter's elites would be in the classic artstyle and this is what the Swords of Sanghelios vs covanent remnant battles would have been like (including the grunts' equipment) Goes without saying it was a dissapoint
also the overall, more brutish look of the Elites being supposed to be a different phenotype.. only for the Arbiter himself to look just like them anyway.

I dont think the models are too scale correctly in relation to each other. Its not that the H4 elites are way bigger its just everything in Halo 4 is bigger in scale to 2. They had a much smaller limit to how many polygons a model could have on the original xbox so the entire game world and objects are just smaller.
interesting that halo 4 elites seems way better at giving the initial sword strike.. but that after it they remain rather clueless about what to do and mostly just stand around. You can tell they weren't programmed with more than a single strike in mind

Something I notice is that the Halo 2 elites ai seems more prone towards being mobile. I.E. strafing, rolling an circling around where as the Halo 4 elites often tend to prefer remaining stationary. Not a condemnation or criticism, just something I found interesting.
I guess the Ai has bloom on their weapons and as a result they tend to be stationary for accuracy... or maybe a fast, constantly strafing Elite would be too annoying? In Gears of War 2, the revive button was the same as the pick up button for ammo and weapons. When the ai were near it, they would pick up ammo/weapons while trying to revive you lol i guess some ai have player controls idk 😶
It's probably the majority of Halo 2 maps against elites were close quarters so mobility added more pressure to the maps while Halo 4 had larger open maps so Elites needed better aiming stationary to pressure the player

This is most likely caused by a bug in the mod, but it's really irritating to see the Halo 2 Elites have full animations for every single motion (sidestepping, or even just turning slightly to face the enemy), while the Halo 4 Elites just turn into Bloons Monkey TD turrets and rotate on the spot with 0 animations. The other half of the time they lose sentience and become Half Life 1 AI and just stare at a wall mid-combat.
Really goes to show you that less is more when it comes to enemy design. Always hated the overdesigned bullshit 343 came up with. Bungies artstyle is Kino and did a lot more than just looked cool and good. Also the surprise Halo 1 Flood attack at the end was deeply satisfying. Everyone always complains about the Flood in Halo 1 and thats fine, but I always loved em.

Yes!!! You got the Halo 2 elite melee down!!! Just like in campaign where the plasma rifle and needler elites kill you in one hit. But not the carbine ones for some reason.
