Congratulations, Mr Jon. Very good choice. In the end of this music, Elis "Fitzgerald" make a impromptu. Read Guimarães Rosa, Monteiro Lobato, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso for to know this impromptu. The portuguese language is good for to speak. The english language is good for to be fast, symple. The english is the language for computers. The italian, the language for the classic music. The portuguese, the language of Camões. Good studies.

The music perfectly speaks with the lyrics, both carrying meaning. EVERYTHING speaks. The melody that progresses hitting a base note, like a cycle that nevertheless keeps going forward. Even those bits of phrases at the end; they're like memories: all fractioned, each one of us with a different piece... all that's left with the passage of time. Their interpretation is just incredibly meaningful as well. Very, Very rare among popular musicians. They make it sound like a struggle against boredom where, among chuckles brought by the ridiculous insignificance of some images, a childlike joy emerges as the song progresses, discovering, through play, new interactions, bits, rhythms, melodies (the flute, whistling) without fear of sounding dissonant, almost "out of tune", and hope, "a promise of life in your heart", like telling us: "this how we should receive the seemingly senseless routine of modern life; understanding that being able to witness the little things that happen, while being under a roof, at home, with the certainty of knowing that more things are coming and nothing is too important. This is a true blessing and in no way a curse", powerful message for the next generations. This song will live forever.

I don't understand Brazilian Portuguese but this recording is so special. Elis Regina and Tom Jobim are no longer with us, but their recording of this song makes them immortal. By the way, I was living in Los Angeles at the time they were recording this album (Elis and Tom) but it took me many years before I discovered it.
Thank you Elis Regina &Tom Jobim you both sound wonderful. I don't speak Portuguese but I loved the song. I only understand English. The song made me feel HAPPY..Blessings from Robert of Adelaide in South Australia 🥰🙏
Kkkkk

I think Ellis Regina is the most honest performer I've ever seen. When she moves it's pure music. She's not trying to look pretty or sexy it's just straight forward illustration of the rhythm. Of course she's very beautiful and sexy, so the result is such, but not because she's trying to be. It's hard to put into words.
One of the very few songs that has the power to bring me all the spectrum of emotions. From the saddest to the happiest and even some emotions i can't even understand. It feels like this song is looking at me, my life and is gently but also inevitably asking me to think deeply about my life, what i have done good, mistakes, hopes, and also but mostly how to be a Better human.
Saludos a mi querido Brasil.
I am a Peruvian living in England, always loved the Bossa Nova but just found this video, shared it with my 16 year old son who just loved it and is playing now in the piano and my sister in Perú who lost her husband from COVID, she said the video was the most wonderful gift she has ever received.
not one version of many of Tom's song matches the magic conjured up between the two of them even though its been edited and spliced together...what they sang is pure joy and comes across decades later fresh, fun, playful...parabens.

Genuinely can't think of a more beautiful duet than this. Musical perfection
Check out "O que será que será - flor da pele", from Chico Buarque and Milton Nascimento. If you like bossa, you'll probably love this song :)
