琴爪の製作 【Making a Kotozume】

今回は東京目黒区にある箏、三味線専門店の琴光堂で琴爪を製作して頂きました。
琴爪はお箏を演奏する際に指にはめる道具です。
爪の部分で弦を弾き音を奏でます。
今回店主である中島隆様のご協力により琴爪の製作過程を撮影させて頂きました。

This time, I had a kotozume made at Kinkodo, a koto and shamisen specialty store in Meguro-ku, Tokyo.
A kotozume is a tool that you put on your finger when you play the koto.
The strings are plucked with the nails to produce the sound.
Mr. Takashi Nakajima, the owner of the store, kindly allowed us to take pictures of the process of making the kotozume.

Hi, I was wondering about something, I saw there was 2 schools of koto (Ikuta and Yamada), difference of positioning and shape of the kotozume but is there other differences between those 2 schools?

I think there are other subtle differences between the two schools in the way they play, such as historical differences and whether they play with or without looking at sheet music.
