When I was camping with my uncle in Brazil, we made our own fishing rods from bamboo sticks. We cleaned the fish and we ate only that and other fruit we found around. Those guys have everything prepared for them, that's not even a challenge.
Yeah and this ain't survival, this is crappy camping. I mean the fishing rods and lures combined with the other junk made this very easy.

Unsurprisingly, I've seen several videos with generic ready-made kits that don't include batteries for lights and such. Kind of defeats the purpose of getting a ready-made kit but always check for batteries when you buy these things!

Am I the only person who expects a tad bit more in the survival department from Yakpak, Devon, & LoJo. What happened to all that military training? Where is the true survival shelter? Where did these princesses come from? Lmao just busting yalls balls. Trey if you don't wrap your lips around that air mattress valve and inflate that thing! I want a real 3 to 5 day survival challenge from Yak, Trey, Norm, & AYO (maybe Davy Gravy as well). Got to be able to sleep inside your shelter, maintain a fire, & actually cook on it.

Is this a real video or a joke i don't understand? How you don't know that you don't put a steak in the flames is beyond me... How can you survive as a human if you don't know how to cook food. I learned this when i was 6 years old.
every single survival challenge they have done is always a huge let down. never actual survival. they also waste a lot of time, every video even not survivial ones they never start their day early and time these things out to have actual content besides bare minimum

From a survival standpoint, the catfish won. It doesn't matter how many you catch; what matters, is what is going to sustain you the longest. At the end of the day, that's what this is; a survival challenge, (if you can call it that).
For the record trey you used a sharping stone to strike the fero rod , next time use the spine on the knife you got in your kit. Works much better I promise lol.. and yak pak get a good pile of hot coals going and set the whole steak on it. It’s delicious

Hosted a troop of Aussies here in Texas, our regular hike was 1000ft plus over the highest peak in the entire country of Australia. Then we did pikes peak the next hike...... Yeah a lot of those boys were lagging, no worries though mate. Good times all around.

I had a class in middle School for survival so I have known how to survive from 11 and grew up in the state of Michigan
Got sent to SUWS (a bad kid place like Outward Bound) when I was 16 and spent 28 days in the desert in Idaho. That place taught me so much. I feel like everyone should learn survival skills.
I think they dumb themselves down a bit for the content.

I wouldn't have too much trouble but I also know what to bring and what not to bring (or scavenge)

@@plageran Could've used it as a tarp to make his shelter presentable. Hell, he could've stood on the chair, tied the rope higher, used some bigger branches, the air mattress as a tarp and slept in the friggin chair lol.

One thing that Walmart Kit needs to include is one of those $3-5 Knife Sharpeners they sell cause all those blades it comes with are always dull.

YakPak that paracord bracelet has a fire starter too. There's a striker and a ferrocerium rod where it clips together. Also, to get an accurate reading on the compass you need to take the striker out, so it doesn't interfere. Great video!

Given the choice the Wal Mart kit is the obvious choice. The tools are at least full tang. The little multi tool axe hammer shovel kitchen sink doodads go to pieces fast. TylerTube has some funny videos testing those.
Ye the cheaper one is way better
That wire saw works way better if you keep the wire as straight as possible. It's even easier on your hands if you use a bent stick between the 2 rings as a handle. Turning into a bow saw, if you will.
Ok Idea for ya, You and two others go buy specifically for each other with say $100-$150 budget. But when you go to go fish SURPRISE you don't trade but are forced to fish with what each of you bought.
OR you each buy for yourself with said budget and then SURPRISE you spin to see who gets what the other guy bought.

you actually dont put your fingers through the metal loops on the "chain" saw, find small logs to use ass handles, doesnt hurt your fingers quite as much! fun tip.

Often there is a valve on the air mattress for blow up. Sure it takes time and you get tired and Air headed, but it can be done.

Yak, i take a hammock wth me everywhere i go in the woods. You could have set up the hammock and used your survival tent as a roof if it rained. At least you would have gotten a sweet nights sleep. What would you have chosen if it was a week long challenge?
You know back in the day when we were young we used to have this thing for inflating air mattresses. It didn't require any batteries, And it was always handy!. Best of all, Everyone is given two, And we'll always at least have one left.

Cooking a steak in the wild is a fine art and the results could very well be so much far beyond any fine dining restaurant, but i needs that a kind of preparation that only a steady camp can provide (and at least salt and pepper). All caught fish double in weight if no scale is around.... Yack pack had two 3/4lb white bass that were 2.5lbs when he told it. Tre caught a 10lb catfish but 20lb when he told it.
