I've watched your review and bought me a Melitta Barista TS right away.. After a few days of using this machine I must say it's briljant :-D Great coffee, beautifull, lots of features. The drippingtray is a bit small but easy and fast to clean. The manual is easy to understand (nice info display) I love it, tnx!
Neel Beke € 978,00 it just has some slight differences like automatic bean selection and a light to shine on your cup of coffee 😎. But it makes the same cup of coffee 😉👌
@@0ssie4u Yea I remember it were some details like some extra profiles too, but nothing that I need. I paid like 300€ less lol... At first I was looking at a Siemens but actually the Siemens machine with similar functionalities as this one (and maybe better build quality, little bigger tank), costs like 2500€ or so it's crazy. I also considered the Saeco Picobarista but happy I chose the Melitta cuz mainly the double beans chamber is a big advantage I care about... Quality of the coffee is very similar I think on all these machines, don't think that can improve really. I always put it on "intense" on mine but I'm not sure how big the diff is, it does give some more crema I believe at least.
Neel Beke that’s true, profiles are handy but rarely use this, I bought the machine for our business so I can deduct the tax 😉. The only criticism I think off is a small water and coffee reservoir and empty water regularly.. no problem for me because after months of use I must say that this machine is really easy to maintain and the coffee is 👌👌👌
Yes it can! I recently did that with my oat milk carton. But tube isn't that long. So I suggest when you get to the end you can just pour it into a cup or smaller vessel and put the tube in :)
Hi, from your latest subscriber! My key question: how does it make a lungo/americano? ie water first then espresso? espresso then continue to run water through the beans etc?
On the machine it just keeps running the water longer. I would put your desired amount of hot water in a cup THEN float the espresso on top. That way you get a nice crema. If you want it weaker add hot water or change the bean intensity setting! Even better, program it as one of your own bespoke recipes (I have) and then it does it all in that order for you every time!!! X
@@thegirlinthecafetv5453 Thank you so much for replying. I was hoping it wouldnt do this, as dont want to have to boil a kettle as well as use the machine for an espresso; ive seen top end machines put the water in first then finish with the espresso; perfect! My current machine also keeps running the water through the grounds, which you shouldnt do as you start to get a bad/burnt flavour from running more hot water through them. Can you create a bespoke recipe to start with running clean hot water in before the espresso, do you know??
@@daleshephard2157 That would be an Americano, me personally I really don't like coffee with just added hot water.. A lungo is just double the amount of water going tru the coffee than an espresso, and half that of a normal coffee (120ml). Did you buy the machine? I mostly just drink "cafe creme" which is a normal coffee and normal strength, I do put it on intense tho that might add a little flavor, you can preconfigure all that. Best thing about this machine imo is the double beans chamber, I like drinking and tasting different coffees so you can use 2 chambers, one I just use for decaffeine when you wanna drink coffee in the evening/night for example...
Great review! Just bought one but not with the smart feature... if I’d like a lungo or a big dark cup what is it called or where do I press? How do I choose a lungo?
Yes I got the T-smart too (not TS). You probably found out by now, lungu is normally the 1st/espresso button, but you have to configure it. I just set mine on the settings I usually want standard, and make a profile for when I want something else (for each button). At first I was confused but it's very easy afterall, I'm very happy with the machine, milk drinks are good too only you gotta use full milk to have it creamy.
Loved the review, but I was just wondering whether you received the machine from Melitta for review or whether you bought it yourself and decided to review it? Also how easy is it to clean the milk system?
Hiya, yes, Melitta did give it to me to try. I tried it over a few months and I actually really liked it and use it regularly. So I decided to share it and do a review. Also the milk system is easy to clean. It asks you to do it straight after. I just ran a proper milk system clean recently and it took alot longer obviously, but it was easy. It's all on the screen xxx
I bought one too cuz there was an auction with 111€ cashback and I'm really happy with it, it's especially a very complete machine... Siemens for example has a machine similar to this, like double beans chamber, smartphone connect, one click for capuccinos etc etc, and that machine costs 2500€ instead.. Also thought it was funny you said it's for people who don't want to make coffee or want it instantly, I'm not that lazy :p but I gotta say when I look at Breville machines for example they look like so much work and then I think why would you buy that if you can have a fully automatic one like this that can do even a lot more... I doubted a little bit between this one and the Saeco Picobarista who has good reviews too but what made my decision easy was the double beans chamber, that's really handy, I like different sorts of coffee to try and with beans that's not as easy as with pads or cups. So I just use one chamber for decafe and one for the normal coffee or. Machine is really worth every cent, I didn't really get the bluetooth app working but even tho it's a cool gadget it's something you really don't need.. Oh I got the T-smart and the TS has some little upgrades but nothing important and seems to be quite more expensive..
Can you help me choosing between this machine and the Siemens EQ6? The machine is for home use. I'm mostly drinking black coffee but also cappuccino once and a while. I'm testing the EQ6 at the moment. From this machine I'm finding the top layer of black coffee tend to have very little taste but increasing in taste the further I get to the bottom of my cup. I've increased the water temperature on the machine and set it to strong coffee brewing. I feel I should stir the coffee after brewing to get an even taste
probably stirring it sounds like a good move. I am not familiar with the siemens model but specs look similar. I prefer the look of the melitta (cant see the hopper, nice smooth shape etc) As for coffee you won't get as strong a coffee from these machines as you might a manual espresso maker, bc the amount ground is limited. @@thegirlinthecafetv5453 I can but for some reason it's recommended to not change the grind until after some weeks of use. Maybe that could help too.
@@thegirlinthecafetv5453 Thank you. I'll try the things you've recommended. Though I think the problem with this machine is that it's extremely slow at brewing. The cup gets filled up at such a slow phase. I think that's what creates layers of different tasting coffee
